Chapter 476: Chapter 267: Returns and New Investments (Part 2)

"Okay, okay, let’s not start with such serious topics as soon as we’re back," Aliya interrupted Emily and Lin Yu’an’s conversation with some discontent.

Snuggling up beside Lin Yu’an, she curiously asked, "And then what? You didn’t come back directly; what did you go to Anchorage for?"

Mentioning this made the atmosphere in the living room instantly quiet.

The lightness and smile faded from Lin Yu’an’s face, replaced by a heavy yet gentle expression.

He recounted in detail the meeting with Dr. MacKeez, describing those two starkly different paths: the comfortable cage and the brutal freedom.

When he said he ultimately chose to let it go wild, Aliya’s eyebrows furrowed tightly, her voice filled with reluctance, "That’s too cruel. It’s so small, so trusting of you."

"I know," Lin Yu’an’s voice was somewhat hoarse.

Instinctively, Aliya tightened her grip on his hand, her eyebrows tightly knitted, her lips pressed into a line, looking at his painful expression, her initial reluctance transformed into heartache.

She softly said, "But I support you. If it were us, we would make the same choice."

Emily gently put down her spoon, lifted her gaze across the flickering fire, concentratedly staring at him before speaking softly.

"That is its best destiny. What you gave it was not just a simple rescue, but the most luxurious gift—the right to choose its own fate, and the cost of freedom has never been cheap."

She looked at Lin Yu’an, her eyes full of understanding and support, "You don’t need to feel pain for this. Because what you’re doing is right and great."

Emily’s words were like a clear spring, instantly smoothing away the last trace of struggle and self-doubt in Lin Yu’an’s heart.

Looking at the two women before him, one warming him with the most fervent emotional comfort, the other supporting him with the most steadfast rationality.

He knew, no matter how difficult the road ahead, as long as he returned to this home, to them, he would have the courage to face anything.

"This project requires a significant amount of money," Lin Yu’an looked at them, "I promise to cover all the costs, which might use a portion of our savings."

After speaking, he reached out to poke the logs in the fireplace, letting the flames burn brighter, as if confirming his determination with this action.

"Then use it," Aliya said without hesitation, "Money can be earned again, but a bear’s life in December only happens once."

Emily also smiled and nodded, "Our home doesn’t need to be built with money. Go ahead, Lin. We’ll always support your decision."

Lin Yu’an extended his arms, tightly hugging them.

Outside the window, the last thread of darkness from the polar night stubbornly shrouded the Earth, but inside the cabin, the fireplace was brighter and warmer than ever.

Lin Yu’an felt the warmth of the two loved ones in his embrace, his heart filled with unprecedented serenity.

This serenity gave him more confidence to plan that grand and costly future.

Breaking the warmth was Aliya. Though emotional, she was not foolish.

She gently broke free from Lin Yu’an’s embrace, her beautiful eyes carrying a hint of practical concern, "Dear, of course I support everything you’re doing for December."

"But tens of millions of US dollars? Is your signing fee really enough? We can’t empty the family savings for December, can we?"

Lin Yu’an laughed. He knew it was time to reveal the true financial standing to the two mistresses of this home.

"You don’t need to worry about the money," he said lightly, "Our family’s financial situation might be better than you think."

He looked at Aliya, his eyes carrying a shared-secret tacit understanding, "Liya, remember the investment we made last March?"

Aliya immediately recalled, her eyes lighting up, "You mean NVIDIA? We invested 1.8 million US dollars then, but I haven’t paid much attention since. How is it now?"

Emily quietly listened at the side. She caught the key information, "Last March?"

That was five months before she joined this family. She knew Lin Yu’an and Aliya’s previous life was affluent, but didn’t know they made such a large investment.

This part of the family assets was completely unknown to her.

Lin Yu’an saw through her thoughts and said, "Emily, it’s normal that you don’t know about this; it was a decision Liya and I made before you came."

"But from today, every asset in this home will be jointly managed and decided by the three of us."

These words, like a warm current, instantly dispelled the subtle outsider feeling in Emily’s heart.

Lin Yu’an glanced at Aliya, "Open the account, let the chief financial officer of our home see how thick her house funds really are."

Aliya exclaimed excitedly, almost bouncing off the sofa, searching for her phone with such vigor that a cushion fell off.

"Here it is, here it is! Get ready to be shocked by the wealth, Emily!" She impatiently unlocked her phone like a child presenting a treasure.

Watching her, Emily shook her head helplessly, but the corner of her lips carried a gentle smile, softly reminding, "Liya, slow down. We’re all mothers now, be steadier."
