Gao Xuan cupped his fist, "Then I won’t see Bodhisattva off."

Back at Luding Palace, Yuan Xiang, bewildered, asked, "Master, Gao Xuan is arrogant, ruthless, and killed the two junior disciples, Five Elements and Five Phases. Are we just letting him go?"

"And if not, are you going to subdue him?"

The Ten Suffering Bodhisattva retorted.

Yuan Xiang, a bit embarrassed, had nothing to subdue Gao Xuan with. If he had that ability, he would have acted earlier, instead of directly summoning the Ten Suffering Bodhisattva.

The Ten Suffering Bodhisattva calmly said to Yuan Xiang, "If you can’t do something yourself, you think to resort to the sect’s power. That’s not wrong. The issue is, why kill Gao Xuan?"

The Ten Suffering Bodhisattva said, "We who practice Buddhism and chant sutras cultivate life and death, and understand the supreme way. To avenge private grievances by killing is inferior. Not knowing the enemy’s depth and acting rashly is even more inferior within the inferior."

Yuan Xiang’s face flushed with embarrassment, he bowed with clasped hands and said sincerely, "Master’s teaching is correct. It was the disciple’s unprovoked anger."

After some thought, he couldn’t help but say, "I see Gao Xuan as plotting something big; if we let him go, he might cause harm to the world in the future."

The Ten Suffering Bodhisattva laughed, "The world is so vast; what ability does Gao Xuan have to harm the world? If it does come to that, we wouldn’t need to act; Yuan Qinglian and Earth Element will naturally intervene."

Yuan Xiang could only repeatedly agree.

The Ten Suffering Bodhisattva continued, "Although the Southern Barbarian Wilderness has abundant spiritual qi, it’s inhabited by arrogant and unruly folks. These people practicing Buddhism would instead cause more trouble. I will take your junior disciples back to the sect. You pack up and return as well."

Yuan Xiang was somewhat astonished; the Southern Barbarian Wilderness is such a vast spiritual land with boundless spiritual objects and rich resources.

If the Ten Sufferings Temple could occupy this place, even without transmitting Dharma to recruit disciples, relying on these spiritual objects could quickly expand the sect’s influence. Why was his master indifferent to this?
