Chapter 2484: Chapter 2484: A Mushroom Cloud
The aircraft resumed its journey, moving even faster than before. Naturally, someone soon appeared to use props and instruments to hinder their progress. Watching the endless barriers ahead, Xu Huo and Wen Xin stood on top of the aircraft, clearing a path and fending off some props aimed at damaging the aircraft.
"Those people are quite cunning, never showing themselves," Wen Xin commented, smashing a few glass bead-like attack props hanging by the aircraft’s window before climbing back up to Xu Huo. "Running like this is not a solution."
"Soon, they won’t have the time," Xu Huo replied. "There’s a newly built temple not far ahead."
"You don’t plan to lure them into the temple, do you?" Wen Xin asked. "Even though religious people can be somewhat weird, I doubt they would go in."
"We don’t need to lure people inside, just pulling towards that nearly completed building is enough," Xu Huo said. "I’ll get on your aircraft while the rest of you switch to the other ones."
Wen Xin had no objections, "Let’s all go together!"
Xu Huo, of course, wouldn’t refuse and had communicated with Ling Ling. So, a few minutes later, three aircraft slowed down, leaving only one that accelerated to the extreme.
Xu Huo was on the fast craft, as players from District 001 mainly aimed to intercept him. As he accelerated away, the hidden players nearby had no choice but to close the distance again.
The aircraft was piloted by another player, while Xu Huo opened the map. The indicator representing the aircraft was gradually approaching the scenic spot ahead.
The scenic spot was still a fair distance from the aircraft, even farther from the tourist line. Since they didn’t want to stir major trouble, the local players likely wouldn’t enter the scenic area easily. But it didn’t matter; they didn’t need to go inside.
When the map showed the aircraft’s marker alongside the temple in the scenic spot, Xu Huo made his move. He slung "Three Seconds of a Lifetime" into his hand, disabling all nearby spatial instruments and quickly switching to a teleportation prop to appear directly near the players who were tracking him.
"Hi!" he smiled at them, releasing the "Big Mushroom Cloud."
Accompanied by the towering mushroom cloud, a massive shockwave swept through the entire wild forest area, followed by the sound of the explosion spreading.
Though the explosion covered a large area, it didn’t reach both sides, only affecting one corner of the scenic spot without engulfing the newly built temple.
However, the massive shockwave caused the ground to tremor, and the entire scenic spot—including the tourist line tracks—shook within the range. Coincidentally or intentionally, the newly erected statue in the temple broke at the neck, its large metal head rolling all the way to the entrance.
After completing these actions, Xu Huo returned to the aircraft.
The players affected by the explosion were likely not dead but were swept away by the shockwave, unsure of their whereabouts. On the other side, the remaining players hadn’t given up; one approached within 500 meters and simply said, "Please stop," causing the surrounding aircraft, along with the expansive forest in sight, to all come to a standstill!
Was this a special power similar to the effect of time force?
The time force covering a small area and the space-time manipulation invoked by time props weren’t particularly strong, so sometimes just holding a space-time item could break free from static time. However, this player’s special power had such a wide range that even with a space-time item, they couldn’t easily escape.
Xu Huo was also under this power; he could clearly feel his movements slowing down. Although it didn’t prevent him from manipulating the time force, the entire process was stretched and magnified in District 001, giving others ample time to kill him two or three times...
Meanwhile, amid the resonating vibrations between the time rays, suddenly a burst of force exploded from Wen Xin, breaking through the special power instantly. He shouted "Rebound" unexpectedly.
Free from the special control, the aircraft continued forward. Watching the players from District 001 still closely following, Bubble Bean turned to Wen Xin, "Wasn’t that a rebound? Why didn’t it work?"
"Just a saying; you really thought I could bounce back every special power! Breaking free from the predicament is good enough!" Wen Xin initially intended to confront them but seeing the current situation, he had to lower his ambitions, "Staying still might get us killed!"
"I don’t think it’s that effective," Xu Huo said. "They can freeze the surrounding space, but it doesn’t mean they can move freely within that range without being affected; otherwise, they wouldn’t be coming alone."
With this point made, the people on the aircraft relaxed a bit; nobody wanted to have their throat slit without resistance.
"Still, we have to be careful; they will definitely try other methods since their one-hit attempt failed."
In fact, their counterattack came swiftly. Shortly after Xu Huo caused the explosion in the scenic area, someone intercepted an empty space at the front and launched a fake shell. With the distance being far enough, the massive shockwave from the explosion made the aircraft sway side to side, eventually colliding with each other and being scrapped.
Wen Xin couldn’t help but laugh, "Are they planning to frame us?"
"Isn’t it just perfect?" With the aircraft gone, Xu Huo and others had no choice but to evacuate. He glanced into the distance and directly dialed the local government’s report hotline.
He didn’t know these people’s identities, but the information about the planned temple construction at the scenic spot was clearly documented in the Collection of Information Terminal.
"I want to report the Purple Truth Sect for carrying out a terrorist attack."
The deity of their faith had been beheaded, and the vicinity of the scenic spot had just experienced two major explosions; someone would come to investigate. Even if players from the Outer Zone were involved, it couldn’t entirely be blamed on them.
"The train is here." Hanging up the call, Xu Huo motioned for everyone to board the train.
After purchasing tickets from the robot attendants, he smiled at an elderly lady, "You sure are unfazed by big scenes, madam."
The old lady sternly replied, "I want to return at the next stop."
"No problem." Xu Huo readily agreed.
Ling Ling was a bit puzzled, "Aren’t we engaging players from District 001 to complete the tourist line faster?"
"I initially mentioned reducing obstructions for the following trip," Xu Huo said. "Traveling faster than others isn’t the ultimate goal."
"Is there a strict requirement in delivering the will that you can’t go back?"
"Not really," Ling Ling replied, "As long as we reach by the specified time using the special line."
"Perhaps it’s okay to retrace our steps," Xu Huo said calmly. "Maybe if we go back, others will have to follow suit."
They were blocked by so many people because they ran too fast. By slowing down, those who ran faster would become others.
