Chapter 73: Looting the Real Treasury
Tang Yin smirked, all 4 sides of the chamber looked identical. However, from the Patriarch’s memory, he knew how to access the real treasury. Tang Yin lightly tapped random parts of the wall with extreme care and precision. To access the treasury, one had to know the pattern to open the formation.
Although the chamber looked like a normal room, it was in fact an Array Formation. Array Formations were formations created by Formation Masters. Formation Masters was a very popular profession in the cultivation world, it was only third to Alchemists and Forgers.
Formation Masters could create an Array Formation using a wide range of materials. The Array Formation created by Formation Masters were a sort of formation that could be laid out to serve different purposes.
Some Array Formations could be used to defend, some could be used to attack, and others could be used for illusions. There was a versatile number of purposes for Array Formations to be laid out and utilized for. Spirit Stones were required to fuel the Array Formation, normally the consumption of Spirit Stones would be incredibly low if the Array Formation was not being used or attacked.
The strength and ability of an Array Formation depended solely on the Tier of a Formation Master. Tier 9 Formation Masters could create the most mediocre Array Formations while Tier 1 Formation Masters could create godly Array Formations. Tang Yin learned all of this in the Maple Leaf Library from the book called Basics of Cultivation.
The Array Formation in the chamber was a type of defensive formation that was laid out by a Tier 9 Formation Master. There was a legend among each generation of Shan family Patriarchs that the first ancestor of the Shan family had invited a Formation Master to lay out a formation to guard the real treasury.
The price of hiring a Formation Master was exorbitant, similar to Alchemists and Forgers, the materials had to be provided by the client.
Tang Yin did not have the time to slowly break apart the formation. So, he used the method each Patriarch used to access the real treasury, he had gained this method from the Patriarch’s memory.
This method was very simple, a few spots on the wall had to be pressed in a specific pattern with extreme accuracy, otherwise, nothing would happen. Using this method, the Patriarch of the Shan family could create a passage through the formation and into the treasury. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Once Tang Yin pressed all the spots from Patriarch’s memory, the wall before him rumbled before slowly splitting open from the middle. A narrow passage enough for one person to fit through was created in the wall before Tang Yin.
Tang Yin entered the passageway, what appeared past the passage was an extremely small chamber. This chamber was made of stone and was much smaller than the previous chamber made of mud and clay.
On the floor of the chamber were 3 large boxes, the boxes were all made of real gold. Tang Yin walked up to one of the boxes and opened it, inside the box was a jade token. Tang Yin recognized this jade token to be extremely identical to the one the Patriarch had used in an attempt to block him but failed.
Tang Yin picked up the jade token and inspected it, he sent some of his Abyss Qi into the jade token and a string of words appeared in his head.
The words read ’This Jade Token is a gift left for the successors of my Shan family, it is a one-time use Artifact that can block a Spirit Vein Condensation Realm cultivators attack. Use it wisely’. Tang Yin grinned, this was a valuable treasure that could practically grant the wielder a second life.
Tang Yin stored away the jade token in his storage ring. He then rummaged through the large box, he found nothing else. The Shan family was truly lavish to store a small jade token in such a large box.
Tang Yin moved to the next large box and opened it, he saw a book. Tang Yin opened the book and read its content, surprise gradually appeared on his face. The book in his hands was a Tier 8 Training Manual which could only be used and learned by each generation of Shan family Patriarchs. The Training Manuals the Elders of the Shan family used were Tier 9 Training Manuals which were inferior and available for Shan family members who reached the 9th stage of the Spirit Channelling Realm. The Tier 9 Training Manual was stored within the normal treasury of the Shan family.
This Tier 8 Training Manual was not very useful for Tang Yin who had the Heaven Devouring Abyss. However, the Training Manual could be sold for an astronomical amount of Spirit Stones. Therefore, Tang Yin stored it away in his storage ring.
He rummaged through the large box again to find nothing, the large box was once again used only to store this tiny Training Manual. Tang Yin moved on to the next and final box.
Tang Yin opened the final large box, he immediately burst into excitement. Inside the large box were many Spirt Stones which contained 100x the Qi contained inside a Mid-grade Spirit Stone, the Qi was also much purer. Tang Yin was no idiot, he could that these were High-grade Spirit Stones. There were approximately 20 High-grade Spirit Stones. This was the accumulated wealth of generations of the Shan family, now it all belonged to Tang Yin.
He quickly stored away all the High-grade Spirit Stones into his storage ring, he searched through the large box to find nothing else. He turned around and left the small stone chamber, he walked to the stairs where Xiao Fei awaited his return.
When Tang Yin returned, Xiao Fei curiously asked "Master, what did you obtain from there?" Tang Yin smiled, he casually replied "Nothing much, I’ll tell you later."
Xiao Fei returned to Tang Yin’s shoulder with curiosity etched onto her face, the duo walked up the stairs and left the Patriarch’s mansion.
