Chapter 372: Infuriating Misfortune (1)

"What the fuck is this!" Shi Duanmu bellowed with unbridled fury. Swiftly, he formed a hand seal and chanted, "Evil descends, all devilish war souls obey my command!"

BANG

A tremendous surge of devilish aura violently emanated from Shi Duanmu’s body, causing the swarming horde of hornet-like Demonic Beasts that had been relentlessly attacking him to scatter as if they had gone berserk.

Accompanying the devilish aura was a multitude of wailing and mournful souls swirling around Shi Duanmu’s form. Some were the spirits of those who had met unjust deaths, while others had been transformed into devilish war souls.

Regardless, an unceasing cacophony of wailing and lamentation enveloped the vicinity as the devilish war souls seized the hornet-type Demonic Beasts and devoured their Beast Souls.

"Fellow Cultivator Su, pursue the Solus Hornet Patriarch! We’ll deal with these minor pests!" Fu Qiuliao shouted, swiftly uncorking the gourd Artifact he held and intoning a rapid incantation. freewebnσvel.cѳm

As he executed the incantation, the nearest Solus Hornets were swiftly drawn into the gourd, utterly powerless to resist.

However, it appeared that there was no shortage of Solus Hornets, as no matter how many were absorbed into the gourd Artifact, an endless stream continued to pour forth.

Su Xian, despite his sullen countenance, nodded in acknowledgement. He swiftly activated an ocular Martial Skill and began scanning the surroundings in search of the Solus Hornet Patriarch.

"Little vermin, I’ve found you!" Su Xian’s demeanour shifted from irritation to ruthless determination as he located the Solus Hornet Patriarch concealed underground, covertly directing its nest from that hidden position.

Swiftly retrieving a halberd-like Artifact from his storage ring, Su Xian channelled his Spirit Qi into it and forcefully plunged it into the ground.

BOOOOM

The earth quaked violently, sending shockwaves through the land. The ground ruptured, hurling fragments in all directions, while a thick veil of dust shrouded a vast expanse spanning 50 kilometres from the point of impact.

The scene resembled the birth of a colossal sinkhole, its maw yawning open within the earth’s crust, voraciously expanding as if it sought to consume the entire world in its relentless hunger.

In the aftermath of this cataclysmic event, rocks, soil, and debris were hurled skyward, propelled by the sheer force of the impact. The air became heavy with the gritty haze of pulverized earth, turning the once-clear horizon into an indistinct, ashen void.

However, despite Su Xian’s powerful assault, the enormous crater created by his attack ceased expanding after reaching a width of 5 kilometres.

"It’s dead. We can’t afford to waste any more time, or Demonic Asura will escape. Let’s move!" Su Xian didn’t cast another look at the vast crater he had just created in the earth before shooting off into the distance, followed closely by Shi Duanmu and Fu Qiuliao.

The Solus Hornet Patriarch was merely a Low-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast, and its swarm of seemingly endless Solus Hornets consisted mainly of Mortal Step and a few Principle Step Solus Hornets.

For a trio of cultivators boasting the formidable power of the Peak-stage Principle Manipulation Realm, dealing with such an obstacle posed little challenge. They could effortlessly handle this hindrance without breaking a sweat.

Nonetheless, time was not on their side. Their primary objective was to pursue Demonic Asura, apprehend him, and secure the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning. They couldn’t afford to remain entangled here while Demonic Asura slipped away. As such, their determination surged, and they sought to resolve the situation as swiftly as they could.

....

A whole Region away from Su Xian’s trio, Tang Yin and Xiao Fei emerged from a sizable, black fissure in space, marking the conclusion of their first Space Warp.

"We’ve managed to put quite a substantial distance between us. It appears our plan is proceeding well." Tang Yin observed, a rare smile gracing his face.

Had Su Xian and his two companions not become ensnared in the conflict with the Solus Hornets for a few seconds, granting Tang Yin and Xiao Fei the opportunity to execute an uninterrupted Space Warp, the trio might have bridged approximately half the gap separating them from Tang Yin by now.

"Well, that’s fortunate. Now, let’s continue and see how events unfold, determining whether we’ll eventually need to engage in combat or not." Tang Yin declared before instructing Xiao Fei to initiate another Space Warp.

....

"What the hell is going on!" Shi Duanmu bellowed, his face contorted in frustrated anger. He was seething with rage.

They had just annihilated the Solus Hornets, yet they had barely made any progress when another impediment materialized right in front of them!

"Haha! Quickly remove your storage rings and toss them over, or else you’ll die!" Barked a sinister-looking fellow.

At this moment, a group of cultivators had emerged before Su Xian’s trio. All of them radiated auras corresponding to the Spirit Ascension Realm, and their leader was clearly a cultivator of the Principle Comprehension Realm.

"I’ll kill you and turn you into my devilish war souls!" Shi Duanmu roared before disappearing from his spot. Like a spectre, he materialized right beside the leader of the cultivators.

He swiftly plunged his palm into the leader’s body and seized his soul with his demonic claws.

"Ahhh!" The other cultivators screamed in terror and panic before scattering in all directions. They realized that they had just provoked a force they couldn’t compete with.

They were merely a band of wandering cultivators who specialized in ambushing solitary individuals or small groups of cultivators, robbing them of their possessions, and mercilessly killing them if their victims did not belong to large organizations.

They had just spotted the arrival of three black-cloaked cultivators and were unable to discern their cultivation levels. Bolstered by their numerical advantage, they had confronted Su Xian’s trio, resulting in the present standoff.

"Want to run? Too late!" Shi Duanmu declared with a maniacal laugh, extending his devilish aura in every direction and swiftly ensnaring all the wandering cultivators.

Disregarding their pleas for mercy and forgiveness, Shi Duanmu extracted their souls and cast them into his Artifact, which contained all of his devilish war souls.

Su Xian wore a dubious expression in his eyes but opted to keep his suspicions to himself. "Let’s move on." He simply stated.

With those words, the trio resumed their pursuit of Tang Yin.

....

"We’ve already crossed the span of four Regions. Thanks to our journey through the void, we haven’t faced any issues so far, unlike those cultivators chasing after me." Tang Yin remarked with a chuckle.

He was now sure that Xiao Fei’s Cursed Eye ability was a resounding success.

At this point, they had completely lost track of those three cultivators. Regardless of how diligently Tang Yin used his techniques to scan behind him, he couldn’t detect any sign of the trio.

Their stroke of misfortune had indeed been quite unfortunate, but for Tang Yin, it turned out to be quite advantageous as it bought him a substantial amount of time to travel to his destination.

"We only have to traverse through eight more Regions, and we’ll reach the Enflamed Desert Region." Tang Yin calculated.

"The Thousand Blossom Pavilion should have noticed the disappearance of their Holy Sons, Holy Daughters, Saintess, and their Elders. But by the time they piece everything together and start their investigation, I’ll be long gone." Tang Yin pondered aloud.

He couldn’t help but think about the slaves within the Abyss Firmament, many of whom hailed from the Thousand Blossom Pavilion. The organization would undoubtedly be conducting an extensive search for them, mobilizing all their resources. Furthermore, the Twin Snake Clan would also be involved since Qian Zhong’s family members were part of the enslaved group in the Abyss Firmament.

"Well, there’s no need to dwell on it. Let’s continue." Tang Yin said, putting aside these inconsequential thoughts. He allowed Xiao Fei to rest for a few moments before instructing her to execute another Space Warp.

....

A couple of hours later, Tang Yin arrived at the border of the Enflamed Desert Region.

They had traversed numerous Regions, with one even containing a Law Domain Realm cultivator and a Rank 8 Demonic Beast. However, thanks to Xiao Fei’s exceptional ability to conceal their presence while using Space Warp, they went completely unnoticed.

Su Xian, Shi Duanmu, and Fu Qiuliao were several Regions behind. While they were still alive, it was evident that they were exhausted and filled with boundless fury that could melt even the heavens.

Unfortunately, it was already too late for them, as they were far behind Tang Yin, and he had already reached his destination.

Xiao Fei was beginning to feel a bit fatigued from the constant Space Warping, but she managed to push through it and remain in almost peak condition.

"You remember what to do, right?" Tang Yin had already given Xiao Fei detailed instructions on how to communicate with the Flametail Scorpion Mother, but he wanted to be certain.

"I know, I know, Master! Just watch!" Xiao Fei replied confidently. With that, she left Tang Yin and flew into the Enflamed Desert Region, heading towards the Flametail Scorpion Mother’s nest.
