Chapter 350: Flametail Scorpions and Enlightenment

Nestled within a realm where the very earth seemed to breathe fire and the skies were eternally tinged with hues of crimson and gold, lay the Enflamed Desert Region.

This arid expanse of land stretched as far as the eye could see, its terrain dominated by towering dunes sculpted by the ceaseless winds and relentless heat.

The land was a study in contrasts, with scorching days giving way to frigid nights as the sun dipped beneath the horizon, casting long shadows that seemed to dance across the sea of sand.

The Enflamed Desert Region was home to an array of otherworldly features, from towering rock formations that resembled ancient sentinels to twisted canyons that twist and wind like the serpentine coils of a mythical beast.

The air shimmered with mirages, teasing and distorting the senses of any travellers who dared venture into its depths. Despite its inhospitable nature, the Enflamed Desert Region teemed with life, as tenacious flora and fauna had adapted to survive in this harsh environment.

Amidst the sweltering heat, oasis-like sanctuaries were scattered throughout the desert, providing precious sources of water and respite for both the indigenous creatures and intrepid explorers. These verdant havens were adorned with vibrant blooms that seemed to defy the desert’s barren reputation, their colours standing out in stark contrast to the surrounding sands.

In this unforgiving realm, the Flametail Scorpions reigned as one of the predators. These unique creatures had evolved to thrive in the extreme conditions of the Enflamed Desert Region, where survival required not only strength but also cunning and cooperation.

Flametail Scorpions dwelled in sprawling nests hidden beneath the dunes, a network of interconnected tunnels and chambers that provided shelter from the scorching sun and the biting cold.

These nests were a testament to their social nature, as each individual played a vital role in the nest’s functionality. From tunnel diggers to guards and caretakers, their society was finely tuned and highly organized, with the Flametail Scorpion Mother reigning supreme as the Low-tier Rank 8 Demonic Beast that led them all.

The Flametail Scorpion Mother was a magnificent creature, her exoskeleton adorned with fiery red and shimmering black patterns that reflected the colours of the Enflamed Desert Region itself.

Her size was awe-inspiring, her pincers capable of crushing even the toughest of opponents, and her venom potent enough to paralyze or incapacitate with a single strike.

But perhaps her most astonishing attribute was the ability of her tail.

Each Flametail Scorpion possessed a bioluminescent organ at the tip of their tails, a feature that served both practical and mystical purposes. In times of danger, the scorpions could collectively emit a blinding burst of light, disorienting predators and giving themselves a chance to escape.

The Flametail Scorpion Mother’s mastery of this ability allowed her to harness the light, weaving it into protective barriers that shielded her nest from harm. The intricate patterns of light emitted by their tails also formed a unique language, enabling them to communicate complex messages and strategies.

However, the Flametail Scorpions were not the sole inhabitants of the Enflamed Desert Region. Other Demonic Beasts, each with their own remarkable adaptations and powers, shared this harsh Region.

From the elusive Emberwing Raptors that soared through the skies to the elusive Magma Crawlers that slinked beneath the sands, the Enflamed Desert Region was a melting pot of deadly beings, each competing for survival and dominance in this unforgiving landscape.

Tang Yin had gleaned this knowledge from one of the 3 jade tokens entrusted to him by Tian Huang. The token had revealed that the Enflamed Desert Region harboured numerous nests of Flametail Scorpions. However, it was crucial to note that only a singular nest housed the Flametail Scorpion Mother, a formidable Low-tier Rank 8 Demonic Beast.

’Am I really that unlucky enough to run into the only Flametail Scorpion nest in the Enflamed Desert Region that is led by a Flametail Scorpion Mother?’ Tang Yin grumbled internally.

The Flametail Scorpion Mother had already detected his presence, albeit from a considerable distance. Yet, given Tang Yin’s current cultivation at the Peak-stage Principle Comprehension Realm, she didn’t consider him a significant threat worth dealing with personally.

She held the belief that her nest possessed sufficient capability to handle him. Nonetheless, she maintained a watchful gaze upon Tang Yin, monitoring his movements closely.

Tang Yin keenly sensed the piercing scrutiny of the Flametail Scorpion Mother fixated upon him. He was acutely aware that persisting in ascending into the heavens would potentially subject him to an assault by the potent Rank 7 Flametail Scorpions inhabiting the nest and perhaps even by the Flametail Scorpion Mother herself.

With a hint of reluctance, he lowered himself towards the ground. Although he contemplated the possibility of circumventing the Flametail Scorpion nest, he recognized that such a diversion would consume a significant amount of time. The Enflamed Desert Region was considered quite a large Region, even in the Bright Yang Continent.

While opting for an alternative path might indeed ensure his safe passage around the Flametail Scorpion nest, Tang Yin foresaw a potential drawback. It would inevitably lead to a delayed arrival at the Moonlit River Sect.

By that juncture, the Twin Snake Clan could have already made critical decisions concerning the sect’s fate, rendering his potential intervention ineffective and he would be unable to fulfil his goal.

Moreover, Tang Yin was disinclined to engage in combat with the Flametail Scorpions. While he held the power to dismantle their nest, he acknowledged the looming obstacle, facing the Low-tier Rank 8 Flametail Scorpion Mother.

In the absence of Xiao Fei, he found himself severely lacking in the means to defend against such a formidable opponent. After all, had Xiao Fei been in her prime state, she possessed the capability to quell the Flametail Scorpion Mother utilizing her bloodline skill, Lifeform Suppression.

Just as Tang Yin was contemplating his next move, enlightenment appeared in his mind. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

’That’s right! I don’t need to hurry. The Twin Snake Clan wouldn’t want to diminish their power by allowing the death of Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators. Sure, a bit of infighting and internal conflict is inevitable, but the Twin Snake Clan obviously wouldn’t allow the death of too many Principle Step cultivators.’

’Wan Mei is the Thousand Blossom Pavilion’s Orchid Blossom Saintess and Qiu Yinzi is the daughter of the Pavilion Master. I’m sure they would shelter some members of Qian Zhong’s family.’

’Even if Elder Liang, Xu Cheng and other such close family members are killed by Qian Zhong’s enemies like Old Mu and Xing Tao, the weaker and less important ones should be safe with the Thousand Blossom Pavilion. After all, even Law Domain Realm cultivators like Xing Tao and Old Mu wouldn’t be allowed to wipe out a Rank 6 Subsidiary of the Twin Snake Clan.’

’The Twin Snake Clan also wouldn’t allow the death of Peak-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators like Elder Liang and Xu Cheng. It would be such a waste of manpower and I’m sure the Twin Snake Clan also realises this. It doesn’t matter what the outcome is, as long as these people don’t die, my plan should work.’

Whilst Tang Yin pondered the entire situation deeply, a vast multitude of Flametail Scorpions advanced from the horizon before him. The sight resembled an impending apocalypse, as the expansive assembly of fiery scorpions seemed poised to engulf the world in their wake.

A single glance allowed Tang Yin to discern the approaching horde of Flametail Scorpions as expendable foot soldiers. Ranging from Rank 1 to Rank 4, they constituted a mix of cannon fodder strategically positioned at the forefront. Their purpose was evident, to serve as a vanguard and assess Tang Yin’s capabilities.

However, Tang Yin remained indifferent to this ploy. As the realization settled in that he was no longer under the constraints of time, a sense of liberation washed over him. Freed from the urgency, he found himself unburdened and capable of addressing matters with optimal efficiency.

As the vanguard of Flametail Scorpions churned through the dunes of the desert to reach him, Tang Yin finally finished optimising his train of thought. He lifted his head and finally started to pay attention to the vast number of Flametail Scorpions approaching him.

Sporting a sly grin, Tang Yin swiftly veered towards the right. Although his pace wasn’t extraordinarily swift, he maintained a velocity comparable to that of a cultivator in the Late-stage Principle Comprehension Realm at their peak speed.

Gradually distancing himself from the approaching Flametail Scorpions, Tang Yin continued to propel himself forward. The Flametail Scorpions seemed somewhat perplexed by his manoeuvre.

Wasn’t this human supposed to be strong? Why was he escaping?

Nevertheless, they changed their direction and headed towards Tang Yin.

From a bird’s eye view, the scene resembled a massive swarm of ants abruptly redirecting their path. The once-linear progression now mimicked the fluid motion of molten magma, rippling and flowing towards the right.

Tang Yin’s grin widened as he observed the sizable assembly of Flametail Scorpions veering off their path to pursue him.
