Chapter 259: Healing
"Damn it! Useless!" The Head Elder gritted his teeth so hard that they almost shattered.
He now had to make a choice.
The first choice would be to search for Tang Yin with his Spirit Beasts. He could tell that Tang Yin was most likely several tens or even hundreds of kilometres away by now.
The second choice would be to gather the 10 Spirit Ascension Realm disciples and continue back to the Martial Beast Sect. He would then report everything to the Sect Master and let him make a decision.
However, if he did this, then there was no way he would obtain the precious treasure that had incited this incident in the first place.
And this was only if the Sect Master decided to go after Tang Yin himself. Otherwise, they would never capture him.
The Head Elder was stuck between a hard place and a sticky situation.
On one hand, he wanted to go after Tang Yin, capture him with his full strength and obtain the precious treasure he possessed.
On the other hand, he needed to get back to the Martial Beast Sect with the 10 disciples.
If he decided to go after Tang Yin and escort the 10 disciples back to the Martial Beast Sect later, the Sect Master would most likely question him. At that point, it would be extremely difficult to hide all of this.
’If he can travel through space once, he can do it again. He is mostly likely already hundreds of kilometres away.’ The Head Elder decided against going after Tang Yin after a long time of racking his brains.
Although whatever method Tang Yin possessed to travel through space most likely had a high cost, to escape from a Peak-stage Principle Comprehension Realm cultivator, the Head Elder believed Tang Yin would still choose to use this method. This depended on his survival after all. One’s life was always the main priority when in desperate situations, no matter the cost.
The Head Elder swiftly pocketed the Golden Sun Lion, Glacial Snow Serpent and the Shadow Panther back into his ring.
He then summoned another amount.
It was a Spirit Beast with vibrant azure-blue feathers that shone like sapphires in the sunlight. Its wingspan was expansive, allowing it to soar high above the clouds with ease. Its eyes were keen and perceptive, able to spot the slightest movement from the distance with great ease.
Despite its impressive size, it moved with incredible grace and agility, its wings beating in a rhythmic pattern as it navigated through the skies. Its sharp talons and beak were deadly weapons capable of taking down prey much larger than itself.
When it sang, its voice was like a symphony, echoing across the landscape and skies with a haunting beauty that left all who heard it spellbound.
It was a rare Azure Songbird! Despite being a Mid-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast, it was not to be underestimated.
"Shut up." The Head Elder spoke with a dark voice. He was having difficulty suppressing his anger and resentment due to the sheer size of the emotions he felt. If it weren’t for Tang Yin, he would not have been in this dilemma.
The Azure Songbird quietened down with an expression that said that it felt wronged.
"Collect those 10 Spirit Ascension Realm disciples in the distance." The Head Elder ordered, he could see them with his divine sense.
The Azure Songbird’s eyesight was one of its strongest attributes. It could easily see them from this distance.
The Azure Songbird turned into an azure arc and disappeared into the distance with the Head Elder.
120 Kilometres from where Tang Yin and the Head Elder had battled, a tear in space opened up.
A crimson arc dashed out of the tear in space.
The crimson arc revealed itself to be a 30 feet large black bird, its ebony feathers shimmering in the light with a sinister quality. Yet, amidst the darkness, there were tints and hints of crimson; the tips of each feather were tinged with a deep shade of red as if the bird were ablaze with an inner flame.
Atop its head, a single feather stood out, a vibrant crimson crown that contrasted sharply with the bird’s shadowy form. And from its tail extended nine sleek, black feathers, each with the same crimson tips as the rest of its body.
It was Xiao Fei. Currently, her face was coloured with worry and slight fatigue. As soon as she darted out of the tear in space, she turned her attention to the almost dead Tang Yin on her back.
The Abyss Emperor Transformation had already worn off. His crimson hair and abyssal eyes had returned. However, both of his arms were missing along with half of his torso. This was the handy work of the Shadow Panther.
He was bleeding profusely, and Xiao Fei’s back was essentially dripping with his blood.
"Master!" Xiao Fei shouted in worry.
Her Space Warp could only be used by her if she could withstand the Space Principles in space, and she could withstand it, although she was feeling a bit tired afterwards.
However, the same also applied to anyone travelling through space with her.
Tang Yin was almost dead, and he had to endure the bombardment of Space Principles for a few seconds. This only worsened his condition. It was not an exaggeration to say that he could die at any second.
Tang Yin used all the strength he had to direct some of his divine sense into whatever remained of his torso. He had swallowed his storage ring earlier because he knew that the Shadow Panther could easily slice through his arms. He did not want to lose his storage ring which contained everything he owned.
Using his divine sense, he took his storage ring out of his guts. Then he proceeded to take out the corpse of a Mid-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast within the storage ring.
This corpse was the highest-ranking Demonic Beast corpse he owned.
He had originally planned to reserve it for his Heaven Devouring Abyss Physique. However, he had no choice but to use it prematurely.
A huge 100 feet large corpse of a lizard-type Demonic Beast appeared on Xiao Fei’s back.
Xiao Fei had the strength to easily carry its body with her physical strength.
Tang Yin rapidly devoured the Mid-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast’s corpse with the Heaven Devouring Abyss. Within a few moments, the corpse was completely devoured.
Utilizing the vitality, energy and Abyss Qi obtained from the Mid-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast corpse, Tang Yin first healed his torso.
His broken ribs rapidly regrew, followed by his muscles and flesh. It took a couple of seconds for half of his torso to regenerate. Just regenerating half of his torso consumed half of all the vitality, energy and Abyss Qi he had obtained from the Mid-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast. His injuries were too severe.
Using whatever vitality, energy and Abyss Qi that remained, Tang Yin regenerated both of his arms and hands. However, this was not enough.
Tang Yin had to additionally devour the corpse of one more Rank 5 Demonic Beast to heal his internal injuries, damaged cartilage, etc. Nevertheless, in the end, his physical body was fully healed. He had returned to his peak condition!
Luckily, his soul had not been damaged in the battle, otherwise, things would be a bit more complicated and costly.
This was one of the abilities of the Heaven Devouring Abyss. As long as he possessed enough resources and things to Devour, he could convert them into vitality, energy, Abyss Qi, etc to heal himself indefinitely.
However, the ability could not really be used in battle unless he devoured low-grade resources.
The reason for this was that high-end resources and powerful Demonic Beast corpses took a couple of seconds and sometimes even tens of seconds to completely Devour. The opponent naturally would not wait for Tang Yin to finish the devouring process.
But if he used low-end resources and weak Demonic Beast corpses, the Heaven Devouring Abyss could Devour them almost instantly or within a short time. This ability was somewhat usable in battle depending on what Tang Yin wanted to Devour.
Upon seeing that Tang Yin was completely healed, Xiao Fei let out a sigh of relief.
"Can you Space Warp again?" Tang Yin asked. It was if as he was not on death’s door a second ago. He seemed calm and collected.
In truth, he had already been through so many life-and-death situations that death almost did not faze him anymore. Being in a life-and-death situation just now made Tang Yin feel as if it was just another obstacle he had to face in his cultivation journey, and he knew that this obstacle would not be the last one either.
"I can, but can you withstand the Space Principles?" Xiao Fei asked. Although she could see that he had recovered, she was still worried. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"I’ve returned to my peak, I don’t need to worry about the Space Principles." Tang Yin responded.
Xiao Fei nodded. The only reason why it had taken her 7 seconds to use Space Warp before was because it was her first time, and she was not familiar with using it.
However, now she had grown somewhat familiar with it, and it only took her 4 seconds the use Space Warp. In the future, this number would dwindle until she could use it instantly.
