Chapter 249: Problems and Speculations

As soon as Tang Yin finished absorbing the soul force from the Monarch Rank Demon Spirit, he inspected his body.

After making sure everything was right, he hurriedly left.

The Monarch Rank Demon Spirit’s palace was quite deep inside the Demon Spirit Cavern. Lord Rank and King Rank Demon Spirits were crawling around every corner of the surrounding area.

Just a moment of carelessness could get Tang Yin surrounded by King Rank Demon Spirits, this would naturally result in death.

Tang Yin’s two souls were equivalent to Low-tier King Rank Demon Spirits each. He was just barely able to hide his presence, and with the Phantom Steps, he silently inched closer to the outskirts of the Demon Spirit Cavern.

Luckily, due to Tang Yin’s extreme vigilance, he was undetected by the roaming King Rank Demon Spirits.

Tang Yin did not heave a sigh of relief yet, he still hid from the Lord Rank and Marshal Rank Demon Spirits as he headed straight for the exit of the Demon Spirit Cavern.

He did not want to stay in this terrifying mysterious zone any longer. A Monarch Rank Demon Spirit had already noticed him and had even kidnapped him, he did not believe that he would be lucky enough to survive if this happened again.

Tang Yin almost still could not believe how his plan had worked. It was essentially all thanks to the Heaven Devouring Abyss, without it, Tang Yin would have surely met his end.

Fortunately, it did not seem as if another Monarch Rank Demon Spirit was interested in him. He safely made it out of the Demon Spirit Cavern. Some of the credit could also be attributed to Tang Yin’s cautiousness.

Upon arriving at the bottom of the pit which represented the Demon Spirit Cavern, Tang Yin dashed up with the Phantom Steps, not even throwing the Demon Spirit Cavern a last glance. He was truly escaping in terror.

He appeared outside of the abyssal pit which represented the Demon Spirit Cave. He was standing on green grass, under the illumination of the bright sun.

’This most likely won’t be the last time I encounter such a dangerous situation. The cultivation world is extremely dangerous.’ Tang Yin thought to himself. His focus was then shifted to inside his Soul Sea.

Inside Tang Yin’s Soul Sea, the Soul Energy was calm and still like an ancient well. However, above the sea of Soul Energy were 2 surreal figures.

They had crimson hair, abyssal eyes, and devilishly handsome faces. They were identically similar in appearance as if they were twins. They were also transparent and ethereal, representing that they were souls. These 2 souls were Tang Yin’s two souls which had been split.

They were both seated cross-legged above the sea of Soul Energy with closed eyes.

Tang Yin let out a sigh, he had genuinely resorted to a desperate solution to survive the influx of soul force from the Monarch Rank Demon Spirit. Now he had to deal with unifying his 2 souls back into one. It certainly wouldn’t be easy.

There were a plethora of techniques at Tang Yin’s disposal to split and fuse his soul. However, he could not utilize any of them.

The reason for this was quite simple. He could only use these techniques to merge his 2 souls back into one if he had utilized any of these techniques to split his soul in the first place.

However, he had used the very crude method of splitting his soul into 2 portions with his divine sense. He had not applied any technique or skill to it. Or to be more accurate, he did not have the luxury to do so at that time.

As Tang Yin thought of how to fuse his 2 souls back into one, he felt a headache coming.

Right now, the part of his soul that had split off was dormant. Meaning it did not pose any problems at the moment.

It would need some time before it completely developed into another individual person. Once the second soul became an individual person, it would not want to be under the control of someone else and would try its best to escape and revolt.

This was exactly what Tang Yin was worried about. He did not have a method to merge his 2 souls back together, plus he had a deadline. Everything was against him.

If he did not merge his 2 souls back into one within this deadline, his soul would develop an individual personality, it would be even more challenging to find a way to merge it back with the original soul later on.

Not to mention, if it somehow escaped or died, Tang Yin would be an incomplete person. He would never truly be whole, and his path of cultivation would stop advancing at a certain point due to the flaw of being an incomplete existence.

However, Tang Yin would never let things escalate to such a situation. No matter what, he would fuse his 2 souls into one before the deadline. He could never let it develop into a separate entity.

Suddenly, a crazy idea bloomed in Tang Yin’s mind. He tried to ignore it, but it just became more pronounced to the point where he could not ignore it. Even he thought that this idea was absurd and would most likely fail.

This idea which had suddenly struck Tang Yin like lightning was ridiculous.

What if he devoured his second soul with the Heaven Devouring Abyss, erased its developing individual personality and fused it back into his original soul?

In a sense, it was similar to how he devoured Demon Spirits. But he would not use the second soul to strengthen his original soul, he would instead make his soul complete again.

However, if this did not work, his second soul would become useless. He would never become truly complete even if he somehow managed to merge his 2 souls later on.

’The Heaven Devouring Abyss always performs miracles in my most desperate times of need. It should work right?’ A conflict raged inside Tang Yin’s mind, he could not make up his mind. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

’Forget it, for now, I should try to find a method to fuse my 2 souls into one with a normal solution. I should only involve the Heaven Devouring Abyss as a last resort.’ Tang Yin finally made up his mind.

He would first search for a method to merge his 2 souls into one. If he could not find such a method by the deadline, he would need to put this crazy idea of devouring his second soul with the Heaven Devouring Abyss into action.

If he decided to be hasty and employ this idea right now and it did not work, then what? He would have cut off his future path completely. It was common sense to try everything else before the last resort.

’I still have around 2 weeks before my second soul completely becomes a separate individual existence. For now, I should make the most of the Exotic Enclosure Region and complete my original goal of coming here.’ Tang Yin did not forget his original goal of entering the Exotic Enclosure Region.

Although Tang Yin sounded extremely dejected, every cloud had a silver lining.

Although his soul had been spilt into a primary and a secondary part. They were both as strong as the soul of an Early-stage Principle Comprehension Realm cultivator.

This meant that when or if Tang Yin fused his 2 souls back into one, the strength of his soul would also conjoin. It would most likely be pushed to the Late-stage of the Principle Comprehension Realm.

With a soul as powerful as a Late-stage Principle Comprehension Realm cultivator, Tang Yin only needed to learn soul-type Martial Skills and he would be able to battle Principle Comprehension Realm cultivators with his soul. He could even kill the weaker ones!

However, all of this depended on whether he would be able to fuse his 2 souls back into one.

3 days had passed. There were only 4 days remaining to explore the Exotic Enclosure Region.

By now, most of the cultivators should have obtained some sort of treasure or serendipity, if they were still alive.

Of course, there were bound to be casualties. Around a quarter of the cultivators should have died by now.

Tang Yin brought out Xiao Fei and the Crimson Feathered Luan from the Azure Luan Pouch.

2 crimson arcs dashed out of the Azure Luan Pouch, they revealed themselves to be Xiao Fei and the Crimson Feathered Luan respectively.

As soon as they appeared, the Crimson Feathered Luan stood to the side, stationary. As for Xiao Fei, she looked at Tang Yin and frowned, "Master, you seem different."

"You must have sensed incorrectly. I am perfectly fine, see?" Tang Yin brushed off Xiao Fei, he even spun his body 360 degrees to alleviate Xiao Fei’s suspicion.

Xiao Fei sent a sceptical glance to Tang Yin’s body. The feeling of difference from him was not strong, she decided not to dwell on it.

Tang Yin had decided not to worry Xiao Fei about his problems. She would probably do something reckless to find a solution to his problem. He could not deal with that at the moment. He already had enough problems as it was.

He also did not want her to worry. If he informed her of his split soul, it would constantly linger in her mind, which would have catastrophic effects. If she became distracted during a battle, she would not even know how she perished.

"Master, what now?" Xiao Fei asked she was feeling quite energetic after leaving the confinements of the Azure Luan Pouch.

"We will hunt cultivators and plunder everything they possess." Tang Yin spoke as thick Killing Intent swirled in his eyes.

Xiao Fei smiled, it held a dark sort of mischievousness.
