Chapter 225: Tier 3 Martial Skill: Void Splitting Slash

Since the last time Tang Yin refined Killing Intent, he had slaughtered thousands of Demonic Beasts and hundreds of cultivators. The newly accumulated Killing Intent around him was even thicker than last time.

Tang Yin thought back to the Ethereal Slaughter Art, although he already knew the Martial Skill by heart, it would not hurt to double-check.

After going through the Ethereal Slaughter Art once more, Tang Yin swiftly started the process of refining Killing Intent.

Dense Killing Intent surrounded him and surged into his body through his pores. This Killing Intent was not under his control, rather it had been accumulated by all the slaughter he had committed.

Tang Yin imprinted his will into the new Killing Intent and fused them together. As he did this, the amount of Killing Intent under his control slowly increased.

Tang Yin could not do this forever without stopping though. His mind and will were powerful but not so much that it could withstand merging with a large amount of Killing Intent ceaselessly.

After a few days of continuous fusion with the Killing Intent, Tang Yin was extremely exhausted. He had to stop and take a break before continuing.

The best way to recover from mental fatigue was to sleep. Cultivators did not need to sleep, but sleep was a really effective way of recovering mentally.

Tang Yin slept for a whole day. Once he woke up, he was reinvigorated. freёwebnovel.com

He used the Ethereal Slaughter Art to continue refining more Killing Intent. After another few days of continuous refining, Tang Yin became exhausted once again.

He went to sleep to recover.

Like this, the continuous cycle of refining Killing Intent and recovery by sleep continued. The cycle lasted for 8 months before coming to a stop.

During the 8 months, Tang Yin spent essentially the whole duration refining his accumulated Killing Intent and sleeping to recover from each session of refinement.

8 months was a long time for low-level cultivators. However, for high-level cultivators, it was akin to the blink of an eye.

For Tang Yin, 8 months was enough to refine all of his accumulated Killing Intent and bring it under his control. The amount of refined Killing Intent stored inside his body was colossal.

With this colossal amount of refined Killing Intent, numerous possibilities were laid before him let alone the large increase in strength.

However, Tang Yin could not test out these possibilities at the moment. He was not going to egress right now. He still had a few more things to do before leaving seclusion.

Another noteworthy thing during the last 8 months was that not a single living being had discovered his cave abode. This just went to show how meticulous the previous owner’s choice of location was in the past when choosing to create a grotto.

Now that Tang Yin had finished refining his accumulated Killing Intent, he was going to move on to the next thing.

He wanted to learn a Tier 3 Martial Skill from Tian Huang’s inheritance.

This Tier 3 Martial Skill was called Void Splitting Slash.

According to Tian Huang’s jade token, this Void Splitting Slash was a sword technique which could create a sword strike powerful enough to slice through the void and obliterate all enemies.

Tang Yin did not hesitate for a second to believe this.

A Tier 4 Martial Skill such as the Life and Death Seal was already so powerful, let alone a Tier 3 Martial Skill.

Not only this, but the Void Splitting Slash also had 2 parts. The first part was for Mortal Step cultivators whilst the second part was for Principle Step cultivators.

The first part of the Void Splitting Slash used Spirit Qi to create a sword strike which could split the void.

Whereas the second part embedded Principles into the Void Splitting Slash to generate a sword strike so powerful that even the heavens would be sliced apart.

The power of the Void Splitting Slash depended on how much Spirit Qi or Principles were fused into the Martial Skill when being formed.

Tang Yin had an almost endless amount of Abyss Qi, if he decided to use all of it, this Void Splitting Strike could possibly kill even a Principle Comprehension Realm cultivator.

The only reason why Tang Yin had not learnt this Martial Skill before was that he was not strong enough.

His physique was not strong enough and his cultivation was lacking slightly.

But both of these defects had been amended. His physique had gone through a breakthrough thanks to the Blood Essence Stone whilst his cultivation had skyrocketed to the 6th stage of the Qi Transformation Realm.

If he had decided to learn this Martial Skill before, his body would burst apart and even his cultivation base would be sucked dry when using the Void Splitting Slash.

Even now, if Tang Yin used this Martial Skill, he could only use its minimal power without sustaining any backlash. However, this would change once he became even stronger in the future.

Tang Yin did not immediately start training the Void Splitting Slash, instead, he memorised and comprehended the Tier 3 Martial Skill.

The main aspect that Tang Yin comprehended about the Void Splitting Slash was its essence.

The powerful cultivator who created this Martial Skill had only focused on one point, destruction.

After understanding the Void Splitting Slash, Tang Yin left his cave abode. He could not practice the Martial Skill in his cave abode, it would be completely devastated otherwise.

Tang Yin strayed far away from his cave abode to practice the Void Splitting Slash. Practising the Void Splitting Slash would definitely create a lot of noise, this would most likely attract nearby cultivators.

Tang Yin did not want his cave abode’s location to be discovered.

After finding a secluded area not inhabited by cultivators, Tang Yin brought out the Abyssal Sword. This was one of the main reasons why he decided to learn the Void Splitting Slash.

Tang Yin always just sent out a sword energy whenever utilizing the Abyssal Sword. The strength of the sword energy usually depended on the amount of Abyss Qi injected into the Abyssal Sword or the Qi devoured by it.

He thought that this was not practical enough. With the Void Splitting Slash, he could not only focus all of his Abyssal Qi into a concentrated sword strike, but he could also have a larger power output.

This meant that by using the Void Splitting Slash, Tang Yin could release a stronger sword strike when using the same amount of Abyss Qi rather than just sending out a sword energy.

Another reason to why Tang Yin decided to learn the Void Splitting Slash was because he had realized that just sending out a sword energy without utilizing a sword technique was quite barbaric.

He was only relying on the brute strength of his body as well as the amount of Abyss Qi he possessed to generate a powerful sword strike.

However, if he implemented the Void Splitting Slash with the same amount of brute strength and Abyss Qi, the power of the sword strike created would be increased hugely.

Tang Yin concentrated his Abyss Qi into the Abyssal Sword. Thick black energy swirled around the Abyssal Sword, the sword shone with a metallic glint.

Tang Yin arced his arm back and took a step forward, with veins bulging on his arm, he swung the Abyssal Sword towards the mountain before him.

A thin black line filled with a domineering aura sliced through space and instantly arrived before the mountain.

With a loud bang, the thin black line sliced right through the mountain. Dust and debris flew everywhere, the mountain was like a cake that had been sliced in half.

’It’s quite close to the Void Splitting Slash, but still not perfect.’ Tang Yin frowned, he pondered for a moment and recalled the sword strike he had just used to slice the mountain in half numerous times in his head.

A bright light sparkled in Tang Yin’s eyes, he quickly injected Abyss Qi into the Abyssal Sword and sent out another sword strike towards one-half of the mountain.

A thin black line which was exactly the same as before was created by the Abyssal Sword, it flew straight towards the left half of the mountain.

With an even louder bang than last time, the thin black line sliced right through the left half of the mountain, but it did not dissipate. It carried on towards the complete mountain behind it and sliced through a quarter of it before dissipating.

’Although it’s not the perfect Void Splitting Slash, it is much closer than before.’ Tang Yin contemplated his second attempt at perfecting the Void Splitting Slash, it was much better than last time, but still not flawless.

Tang Yin set his sights on the right side of the mountain which he had split apart. He lifted the Abyssal Sword which was swirling with Abyss Qi and swung it towards that half of the mountain.

Like this, Tang Yin spent 2 months constantly destroying mountains and inching closer to the perfect Void Splitting Slash.

After each strike created by the Abyssal Sword, Tang Yin would contemplate and ponder every aspect of the sword strike that he got right as well as the things he got wrong and needed to improve on.

Then on the next sword strike, he would improve it. With each sword strike, the power of the Void Splitting Slash inched closer to perfection.

After 2 months, Tang Yin had mastered the Void Splitting Slash. This was mainly due to him concentrating all of his attention on learning the Void Splitting Slash as well as not resting even a little bit. He had enough Abyss Qi within the Heaven Devouring Abyss to practice without stopping.

Even if he did not, Tang Yin possessed hundreds of millions of Spirit Stones, replenishment was not a problem.

Another noteworthy thing which happened over the course of the past 2 months was that some nearby cultivators had come to check out the frequent loud bangs which had been reverberating in the surrounding area. Some thought it was the appearance of a treasure, whilst others thought it was a Demonic Beast’s doing.

All of these cultivators were Physique Transformation Realm or Spirit Vein Condensation Realm cultivators. Tang Yin simply devoured them before continuing his practice.
