Chapter 197: The Elder’s Precaution
"Senior, the situation is much worse than we thought." Tang Yin spoke first. He spoke with a hoarse voice full of fear.
"Oh? What is the situation in the north zone like? Have you seen their strength?" The Elder asked with an intrigued voice as if nothing could faze him.
"I don’t know what happened, but the north zone has immobilized a large chunk of their forces and is launching a large-scale attack." Tang Yin got right to the point and answered straightforwardly.
The Elder’s expression changed drastically, a huge storm started to rage in his heart. He got up and looked at Tang Yin with a suspicious gaze.
"Did you see it with your own eyes?" The Elder asked after calming down.
"If I did, then I would not be alive at the moment. However, a majority of the Demonic Beasts have gathered in a single spot. This cannot happen unless they have been summoned by a higher power." Tang Yin explained. "I was seriously injured during my journey back to the south zone by some Demonic Beasts who were heading towards that gathering spot." He also added on. Although it was irrelevant, it showed his trouble and effort to gather this information.
The Elder grumbled internally. He naturally knew the meaning of Tang Yin’s last sentence. He wanted to be rewarded extra for his troubles.
’If what she says is true, then Autumn Hall and our subsidiaries won’t be able to retaliate in this large-scale attack. I need to request reinforcements from Four Seasons Island.’ The Elder planned internally.
"A treasure could have appeared to attract the Demonic Beasts, are you sure they were mobilizing their forces to launch an attack?" The Elder pointed out a doubt.
"Senior, if the Demonic Beasts gathered because of the appearance of a treasure, then they should have been tearing each other apart. Instead, they were submissively gathered together with no conflicts." Tang Yin explained this in more detail.
"If what you say is true, then the north zone should attack soon. There is no time to validate your claim. If what you say is false then I will personally make sure to eradicate you." A mighty pressure descended on Tang Yin when the Elder uttered his last sentence. Tang Yin conveyed an expression of obedience and fear.
"Senior, about the sect contribution points..." Tang Yin muttered hesitantly.
The Elder let out a cold snort. He was dissatisfied that Tang Yin was still thinking of sect contribution points in this situation. Nonetheless, the old woman before him needed to be rewarded for this vital piece of intel on the Demonic Beast’s next attack which could possibly wipe out their forces stationed at the border.
"I originally planned to reward you 100,000 sect contribution points. However, with such an important piece of information, this amount seems lacking. I shall give you 300,000 sect contribution points instead. Of course, if what you say is false, then I hope it was worth lying about all of this for mere sect contribution points." The Elder declared that. He did not forget to throw in a threat at the end.
"I wouldn’t dare to lie, everything I said is true." Tang Yin immediately responded with reassurance.
"Show me your sect token." The Elder commanded. Tang Yin complied with complete deference. He handed his sect token to the elder.
The Elder took the sect token and swiped his fingers across it before handing it back to Tang Yin.
When Tang Yin took the sect token back, he could see a number on it, ’323,956’. Those were the sect contribution points accumulated by the old woman and the additional 300,000 which were just added by the Elder.
"Senior, I am seriously injured, it will be extremely difficult for me to fight against the Demonic Beasts." Tang Yin spoke with embarrassment.
The Elder narrowed his eyes. He swung his fingers and a flash of white light appeared on his index finger before rapidly entering between Tang Yin’s eyebrows. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"I will leave a wisp of my divine sense inside of your body. With just a thought, it can enter your soul and destroy it. Since you are heavily injured, you can go back to Four Seasons Island. After the large-scale invasion of the Demonic Beasts, I will visit you to take it." The Elder explained upon seeing Tang Yin’s cautious expression.
Tang Yin knew that the Elder had done this to make sure that he did not run away after lying about a large-scale attack from the north zone. After all, this was an incredibly important matter. The Elder had to take precautions. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Nevertheless, an endless chill grew within him. He memorized the face of this Elder.
Tang Yin bowed to the Elder and dragged his old body to leave the building. He returned to his accommodation to recuperate.
Tang Yin had killed a couple of hundreds of Rank 4 Demonic Beasts. He only needed to Devour the corpses of 10 or so to fully heal from the injuries which put him on the brink of death.
However, to avoid suspicion, he only used a few Rank 4 Demonic Beast corpses to heal a little bit. He would heal the rest of his wounds after he left the island.
The next day, Tang Yin bid his farewells to the elder and left the island. He healed the rest of his injuries before going back to Four Seasons Island.
Upon arriving near the island, a cursory check was conducted along with a verification of his sect token before he was allowed to enter the island like last time.
