Chapter 123: Sign of Gratitude

A month passed.

During the past month, Tang Yin spent most of the time devouring Spirit Stones and Demonic Beast carcasses. He had obtained all of this from the 6 families and sects he had destroyed in the Drifblim Region.

Tang Yin had already recovered his left arm and some parts of his torso, only the remaining part of his torso and left leg were left to regenerate. But Tang Yin had made sure to use the Heaven Deceiving Art to deceive Doctor Ji and the tribe chief who visited him every day. They could not tell he had somewhat recovered from his injuries.

Unfortunately, there were no more Demonic Beast corpses left inside his storage ring. He would have to use Spirit Stones to instead, Tang Yin was unwilling to continue using High-grade Spirit Stones. Therefore, he used the tens of thousands of Mid-grade Spirit Stones at his disposal. His recovery was going very smoothly.

During each visit, the tribe chief and Doctor Ji would always bring him food, after all, they believed Tang Yin was a mortal like them. The food they brought Tang Yin was seafood, there were no animals on the island they resided on except for seagulls. Therefore, they would have to try their luck by fishing.

Tang Yin could not move, so he was fed by Doctor Ji like an infant.

Another 2 months passed.

Nothing happened during these months, everything was normal.

Tang Yin had recovered by about 80%, there were only a few minor injuries left. He did not move from his bed, he remained stationary during the past few months. There was no reason to, and besides, he did not want to expose his identity as a cultivator to these mortals. freewebnovёl.ƈom

Tang Yin was close to his peak condition, he could control his Abyss Qi completely. He could also bring out Xiao Fei from the Azure Luan Pouch, but he decided to postpone that action for now.

Tang Yin decided he had recovered enough, he was going to leave the island.

Tang Yin deactivated the Heaven Deceiving Art, what appeared was a complete Tang Yin with blood-red hair, abyssal black eyes and a handsome face. He wore black robes sown with red threads.

Tang Yin then brought out a small jade token from his storage ring, it was the jade token which he had gotten from the Shan family. It was a one-time use Artifact which could block a Spirit Vein Condensation Realm cultivator’s attack.

He poured a bit of Abyss Qi into it and left it on the table. Then he took a piece of wood and burnt it into charcoal. Using charcoal, he wrote down a few sentences on the wall of the wooden shaft.

Under the cover of the night, Tang Yin left the island.

The next morning when the tribe chief and Doctor Ji entered Tang Yin’s wooden hut, they were stunned. Tang Yin was nowhere to be seen, instead, there was a jade token on the table and a few rough sentences written on the wall of the house.

They first read the writing on the wall of the wooden hut. It read, ’Tribe Chief and Doctor Ji, I would like to thank you for taking care of me over the past few months. To express my gratitude, I have left my family heirloom for your tribe, it is the jade token which I have placed on the table.’

’If the Peaceful Sand tribe ever runs into any trouble, just hold the jade token and think about me. A miracle will happen.’

’I have decided that life is not worth living after losing half of my body, I do not wish to trouble the Peaceful Sand tribe. I have taken my life where you will never find my body. Farewell.’

With many complicated emotions, the tribe chief and Doctor Ji looked at each other. With their age, they could tell each other’s thoughts. They shifted their attention to the jade token on the table which was left behind by Tang Yin.

The tribe chief picked up the jade token and intently inspected it, but he could not see anything special about it except for its appearance. With a sigh, both of the old men left Tang Yin’s house with mixed feelings. They had formed a sort of attachment to Tang Yin during the past 4 months. Seeing him gone made them feel a sense of loss and sadness.

....

The sea was a murky blue colour, it permeated a salty stench.

Above the sea, was a hazy azure sky filled with clouds.

Inside the clouds was a 20 feet large black phoenix with crimson-tipped feathers and a crimson crown feather. On top of the mystical bird was a handsome youth.

The youth’s hair was of a crimson shade, his eyes shone with a black glint. His face was so handsome, it could put most men to shame. He was Tang Yin.

When Tang Yin thought back to the jade token he had left for the Peaceful Sand tribe, he sighed. The jade token was no longer useful to him given his strength. He gave it to the tribe chief of the Peaceful Sand tribe as a way to repay their tribe for taking care of him for the past few months.

The tribe chief would not be able to activate the jade token because he was not a cultivator. So, he had left a bit of Abyss Qi in the jade token, this would allow the jade token to have a trigger which could activate it. To use the trigger, the tribe chief would only need to think about Tang Yin.

Tang Yin had secretly used Soul Plunder on Doctor Ji during one of his visits, he wanted to know how he had ended up on the island.

There was not much information. Doctor Ji was roaming the island to find any herbs with medicinal properties so he could concoct medicine for his tribe members. That was when he stumbled across Tang Yin in a remote corner of the island, he was badly wounded with half of his body absent. Doctor Ji brought him back to the tribe to nurse him back to health despite his low chance of survival.

There was not much of anything else in the old man’s memories which was related to him. This led Tang Yin to speculate on why the Teleportation Stone had brought him to that island specifically. But he could not figure out why no matter how much he racked his brains.

After leaving the Peaceful Sand tribe, Tang Yin brought out Xiao Fei and took flight into the clouds. He was in a foreign region, so he and Xiao Fei were moving slowly in case of any dangers.
