Chapter 121: Village
There was a very small island in the middle of nowhere out in the sea. The island was very small, it could even be considered an islet.
There was a small village on the island. There were many rough wooden shafts here and there. The sound of children’s laughter and loud deep voices travelled through the village.
The village was not big, it only housed around 30 people. There were men and women, old and young. The village looked like a mortal village one could find in any part of the world.
The thick stench of the sea assaulted the noses of everyone in the village, yet they seemed used to it.
There was one wooden shaft in particular to which every villager sent curious glances, it was small and looked similar to the other houses. However, inside was Tang Yin.
He lay on a crude bed which looked like it would break at any moment. There was not much inside the wooden hut, except for a small table and chair beside the bed.
Tang Yin’s whole body was bandaged, he looked like a mummy. His eyes were closed, he was still unconscious.
"How is he?" An aged voice whispered outside of the wooden shaft Tang Yin was in.
Outside of the wooden hut, there were 2 old men. Their faces were filled with wrinkles and they both had long white hair, strangely, they were wearing pieces of sackcloth. They looked like 2 mortal elderly men.
"It’s not good, half of his body is missing. He seems to have been eaten by a wild beast. It’s a miracle he is still alive." The other old man replied with a grim voice, he looked at the wooden shaft in which Tang Yin resided with pity.
"Well try your best to save him. He is a human after all." The old man spoke once more, there was a downcast tone in his aged voice.
"Rest assured tribe chief, I will do my best. However, there is only so much I can do given his condition." The other old man assured the tribe chief. However, deep inside, he was not very optimistic about the boy’s chances of survival.
With a sigh, the tribe chief left. The other old man walked inside the hut. He looked at Tang Yin with a curious glance. He was very curious towards the origins of the boy before him.
While immersed in thought, the old man let out a light gasp. He saw the eyelids of the boy struggling to open, but in the end, they remained tightly shut. The old man frowned, this was the second time this had happened. He was not sure about the cause of this, his medical expertise was limited.
Like this, a month passed.
The old man and the tribe chief visited Tang Yin’s wooden hut every few days to check on his condition. However, everything remained the same as usual. There was no response as if he were a dead man.
One day, the old man sat beside Tang Yin. He was examining his body when Tang Yin’s eyelids fluttered.
The old man’s expression remained the same, this had happened too many times in the past month. The boy would always fail to open his eyes, he did not expect this time to be any different.
The old man turned his gaze away from Tang Yin’s futile attempt to open his eyes. The next moment, when he looked back, he screamed and tumbled back.
Tang Yin’s eyes were wide open, they were staring at the old man with an abyssal black glint. freёweɓnovel.com
The old man was terrified when he looked into his eyes, that’s why he screamed and tumbled back. He stared at Tang Yin with disbelief and excitement.
He quickly ran out of the wooden hut. When he returned, he was not alone. There were a few elderly men with him along with the curious eyes of the other villagers.
