Chapter 516: Chapter 503: Emperor Snake (7)

What frustrated Tu Xiao’an now was that the Gray Demon King refused to come out and fight. It was making him anxious.

’He just couldn’t understand it. What was a mighty Demon King so afraid of? Am I really that incredible? Have I scared a Demon King so badly that he doesn’t even dare to come out?’

In truth, Tu Xiao’an’s reasoning was simple. If he could take care of the Gray Demon King, then dealing with that hedgehog, the White Demon King, would be a piece of cake.

Then, when he stormed over to steal the bride, wouldn’t that be both thrilling and satisfying?

Even if he couldn’t win, he could at least gauge the gap between himself and a true Demon King.

Just then... the system’s voice suddenly sounded in Tu Xiao’an’s mind.

"DING... Congratulations, Host. Your Battle Companion, the Super Mutant Three-headed Evil Snake, has reached Perfection in its Cultivation. It will undergo its Celestial Tribulation in three days."

Seeing this message, Tu Xiao’an glanced in the nine o’clock direction. There, the Three-headed Evil Snake—dozens of meters long, Spiritual and Fierce, and brimming with Evil Qi—was feasting on everything around it. That area had become a living Hell for the Rat Beasts.

’Did this little guy really eat enough Rat Beasts to trigger its Celestial Tribulation?’

And in three days, no less—beating the Tree Spirit to the punch.

Although not every Rat Beast was an Awakened Creature, even those that weren’t were far from ordinary rats. After all, how could anything living in the Yaoling Mountain Range be ordinary?

With its three heads feasting ravenously, the Evil Snake had absorbed the Rat Beasts’ Energy and successfully eaten its way to a tribulation. Of course, a lot of that was due to it already being at Level 29.

A war like this was a veritable Blessed Land for the Evil Snake. The more it ate, the faster its power soared and the deeper its foundation became.

Before long, another system message arrived.

"DING... Congratulations, Host. Your Battle Companion, the Super Class Creature Golden Pupils, has reached Perfection in its Cultivation. It will undergo its Celestial Tribulation in four days."

Tu Xiao’an froze for a moment. Apparently, that ferocious cat had eaten its fair share of rats as well.

Snakes are the natural enemy of rats, and cats are their arch-nemesis.

Golden Pupils’ tiger-like and lion-like aura was a major advantage; the Rat Beasts were too terrified to even move in its presence.

Tu Xiao’an was very pleased. One in three days, the other in four... These Celestial Tribulations were coming one after another. It was going to keep him busy.

Next, he waited for news that his precious Azure Owl was ready to face its tribulation.

But after waiting for a long time, Tu Xiao’an still hadn’t received any news about the Azure Owl’s tribulation. It seemed the Peacock wasn’t interested in rat meat; it just wasn’t to its taste.

No matter. Tu Xiao’an could just feed it the Golden Core of a Demon Spirit, and its tribulation would surely follow.

Now that Tu Xiao’an’s power had skyrocketed after proving his path, he no longer gave much thought to even Deep Mountain Great Demons. If his Battle Companions remained at Rank Two, how could they possibly keep up with him?

However, if these Super Class Creatures successfully passed their tribulations, their power would also soar. They could likely ascend to the level of Deep Mountain Great Demons in a single leap.

Super Class Creatures inherently had a high starting point.

The war between snakes and rats continued to rage. A massive slaughter between two races like this wouldn’t be over in a few days and nights.

Not unless one side took the initiative to retreat.

But judging by the situation, it seemed the Gray Demon King truly had no intention of appearing. Did he not care about his pride at all?

This war of the century was being watched by countless races throughout the Yaoling Mountain Range. Defeat would carry an extremely heavy price.

The longer the Gray Demon King remained hidden, the less confident Tu Xiao’an felt. An unseen enemy was always the most terrifying.

You never know what schemes they’re concocting or what ultimate move they’re preparing.

Faintly, Tu Xiao’an had a bad feeling.

Just then, the space above his head began to twist and distort. Ripples of energy spread out, accompanied by a ceaseless series of violent explosions.

’Is the Gray Demon King finally making a move?’

However, what Tu Xiao’an saw was not the Demon King, but a gigantic black snake soaring through the air. The snake’s aura was immensely powerful, causing countless members of the Snake Race to tremble in terror.

The black Giant Snake didn’t look particularly unusual, but the serpentine aura it exuded carried an unparalleled Emperor’s Qi.

An aura like this was devastating to other snakes.

Its serpentine aura was so potent that even the Titan Snake beneath Tu Xiao’an couldn’t help but prostrate itself, too terrified to even breathe. This alone was a testament to its power.

The black Giant Snake came to a halt before Tu Xiao’an and Luo Ziyun. In a flash of light, it transformed into a demonic-looking young man. He had black markings on his face that gave him a commanding presence, and his eyes glinted with an eerie green light.

After the demonic youth manifested, his every gesture exuded a domineering air. Countless Snake Species groveled on the ground at his appearance, and in doing so, were carelessly killed by the Rat Beasts.

’This snake is no simple character.’ Tu Xiao’an hadn’t expected such an extraordinary Snake Demon Spirit to appear at a time like this.

He possessed a natural Emperor’s Qi, like a feudal lord ruling his own domain.

Among the countless Snake Species and the dozen or so Snake Demon Spirits in the tide, this one before him was by far the most fearsome. His Cultivation had reached the level of a Pseudo Demon King.

This both surprised and shocked Tu Xiao’an.

But the man’s Emperor’s Qi made Tu Xiao’an feel uneasy. He felt as though his own authority as the Snake King was being challenged.

Furthermore, Tu Xiao’an clearly sensed that by appearing only now, the man wasn’t here to pay his respects. It felt more like a deliberate attempt to take him down a notch.

Tu Xiao’an’s intuition was spot on. After manifesting, the demonic youth’s eerily glowing eyes completely ignored Tu Xiao’an and turned to Luo Ziyun. With a hint of respect, he bowed slightly and said, "Li You pays his respects to Aunt."

This single gesture showed he had no regard for Tu Xiao’an, the new Snake King.

Luo Ziyun frowned slightly upon seeing the demonic youth. "Li You," she said coolly, "restrain your Emperor’s Qi. Are you not aware of the effect it has on the other Snake Species?"

This was the great war between snakes and rats. With their bodies and minds disrupted, many of the Snake Species could be killed in an instant.

"You are right, Aunt. I was reckless and careless."

He withdrew his Emperor’s Qi slightly, then stood with his hands clasped behind his back. Finally, his gaze fell upon Tu Xiao’an, showing no intention whatsoever of paying his respects to the Lord Snake King.

The tension was palpable, like two sharp points meeting.

In reality, the demonic youth had arrived at Monkey Mountain long ago, even before any of the other Snake Species. He had remained hidden, hoping to borrow the Gray Demon King’s power to kill the snake who had stolen the throne he believed was his.

Unfortunately, the Gray Demon King had stubbornly refused to appear, foiling Li You’s clever plan. He had no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

But it didn’t matter. He was confident he was stronger than this newly ascended snake. His opponent’s performance may have been stunning, but Li You would show the entire Snake Race who the most powerful Snake Species in the Yaoling Mountain Range truly was.

"Li You, are you not going to pay your respects to the new Snake King of our Snake Race?" Luo Ziyun’s eyes snapped open, her expression as cold as unmelting Frost as she reminded him again.

The demonic youth did not move. Instead, he looked at Luo Ziyun and asked, "Aunt, I don’t understand. Since when did the Snake Race choose its king so casually? How can a mere snake that just proved its path become the king of the Yaoling Mountain Range’s Snake Race and command us all?"
