Chapter 513: Chapter 500: Meeting Luo Ziyun Again (4)

The ones most delighted by the arrival of the sweeping snake tide were not Tu Xiao’an, but the Monkey Race.

The two Monkey Kings of the Monkey Race jumped up and down, as excited as children.

The Monkey Race was not fated to perish after all! They weren’t going to be annihilated.

What could possibly be more thrilling than this?

"Little Brother, you stay here! This King is going to skin these damned rats alive!"

The rat tide had now been halted, having crashed into the snake tide. The great war between snake and rat had been fully ignited. On Monkey Mountain, the two races would begin an unprecedented battle to the death.

It could no longer be called a rat tide; the Rat Beasts were scattered everywhere in chaos. This was the perfect opportunity to strike an enemy when they were down.

The Ape King shot forward, his Demon Qi roiling, and plunged into an area swarming with hundreds of thousands of Rat Beasts. He began to slaughter them with powerful, sweeping attacks, venting all of his pent-up frustration.

The scene descended into utter chaos, with blood and flesh spraying like fountains. Seeing this, Tu Xiao’an released the Three-headed Evil Snake and Golden Pupils again, letting them return to the fray and slaughter to their hearts’ content.

This epic battle was both bloody and exhilarating. The Bull Demon King roared, his iron staff wreaking havoc until the sky itself seemed to darken.

The Cyan Dragon wasn’t putting on any airs either. With the might of a Divine Beast, it made countless Rat Beasts suffer terribly. In the blink of an eye, hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of them perished.

All of Tu Xiao’an’s Battle Companions threw themselves into the fight. The rat tide had already collapsed and was no longer a threat.

The battle grew so intense that even the Tree Spirit, a "vegetarian," couldn’t help but jump in. It brandished dozens of its vines and charged into the slaughter to get a piece of the action.

After all, what Cultivated Creature didn’t have some fight in it? The same went for Cultivation Plants—they were not to be trifled with.

Every single one of them had been thoroughly terrified by the rat tide earlier.

The Azure Owl, however, hesitated to enter the fray for fear that the disgusting blood of the Rat Beasts would stain its beautiful, nine-colored feathers.

But in the end, unable to bear the inaction, it too plunged into the slaughter. A nine-colored Divine Light erupted from it. With every brilliant glance, it proved just as deadly, killing rats until they shrieked in chaos.

The situation had turned too quickly. Tu Xiao’an remained hovering in the air, choosing not to act. He was waiting for the big boss, the Gray Demon King, to reveal himself. He was also guarding against another sneak attack from the rat-scum.

In a situation like this, the king of the Rat Race couldn’t possibly keep his composure any longer.

Not unless he was willing to abandon these hundreds of millions of Rat Beasts.

Monkey Mountain had truly become a river of blood. It was difficult to distinguish snake from rat with the naked eye, though it was slightly easier for those whose Cultivation had reached the Spirit Monster level.

For those at the Demon Spirit level, it was even clearer. They all fought in the sky—a giant rat against a Giant Snake, their battles earth-shattering.

Overall, however, the Rat Race was on the losing end. The sheer number of Demon Spirits and Pseudo Demon Kings they now faced was far beyond comparison.

"Xiao’an."

Just then, a beautiful, melodious voice sounded by Tu Xiao’an’s ear. He gazed into the distance.

The voice seemed to be coming from that majestic, hundred-zhang Giant Snake.

Tu Xiao’an had already used his Insight to identify it as a legendary Titan Snake. Though only at the Demon Spirit level, it was even more terrifying than some Deep Mountain Great Demons.

’Could the voice have come from the Titan Snake?’ An unbidden shiver ran down Tu Xiao’an’s spine. But in the next second, he saw a graceful figure in white standing atop the Giant Snake’s head.

’That figure? She even knows my name, so she must be an acquaintance. But how could I know anyone in the Yaoling Mountain Range, let alone a woman?’

Tu Xiao’an stared intently at the woman in white atop the Titan Snake. After a moment of contemplation, a look of shock crossed his face. He leaped forward in a flash, leaving a trail of afterimages before landing on the Titan Snake’s head as well.

The top of the snake’s head was as spacious as a living room—one could have easily placed a few sofas on it.

"It’s been a while, and you’ve certainly changed. I see you with new eyes, my dear Pi Pi Snake." The woman in white spoke, her face veiled with White Silk, yet her eyes twinkled brightly.

A wave of familiarity washed over him. That tone, that figure with its long legs, slender waist, and perky bottom... Tu Xiao’an froze for a moment. "Luo Ziyun?"

"Hmph. So you do have a conscience, recognizing me after all," Luo Ziyun laughed, the White Silk over her face only adding to her mystique.

"You..."

Tu Xiao’an opened his mouth but didn’t know what to say. This mysterious woman was simply impossible to predict. To think she had also come to the Yaoling Mountain Range.

He had invited her once, but she had flatly refused.

Now, here she was, Luo Ziyun, standing atop a Titan Snake and leading a sweeping snake tide. ’What in the world is her identity? Is she also from the Snake Race?’

Tu Xiao’an’s enchanting eyes were seared onto Luo Ziyun’s form, as if trying to see right through her—and maybe figure out her body measurements in the process.

"Hey! Hey! Don’t you dare stare at me with those lecherous eyes in front of everyone!" Luo Ziyun chided playfully.

"Just what is your identity?" It seemed Tu Xiao’an asked this question every single time he met this mysterious woman.

Luo Ziyun rolled her eyes. "Could you please be more original? I’m sick of hearing that."

’I’m sick of asking, okay?’

’Hmph. So you won’t tell me? I’m the Snake King now. You think I still can’t see through you?’

’Conscious Insight!’

"DING... Insight failed."

What the hell?! Tu Xiao’an nearly lost his footing and fell off the Giant Snake’s head. ’Insight can fail?’

’This has to be a joke.’

’Impossible. I’m Level 34 now. Unless she’s a Rank Four Divine Spirit, I should be able to scan any Demon Spirit.’

Just then, Tu Xiao’an keenly noticed that this mysterious woman, Luo Ziyun, had multiple different auras emanating from her.

This was different from before. The last time Luo Ziyun had stood before Tu Xiao’an, she had no detectable aura at all, as if she were made of air.

But now, several auras swirled around her.

There was a human aura, a snake aura, and also...?

That’s right, the aura of a Dragon. Unbelievably, Luo Ziyun also had the majestic aura of a Dragon concealed on her person.

For a single woman to possess the auras of three different creatures... this was simply heaven-defying.

The most astonishing part was the Dragon aura. ’What the hell? Is she some kind of hybrid creature?’

Sigh... What kind of freak of nature was she? Tu Xiao’an had thought that after becoming the Snake King, he’d finally be able to see through this woman, but the result was exactly the same.

If anything, she had only grown more mysterious. ’How frustrating!’

"Xiao’an, once this war between the two races is over, I’ll take you back to the Snake Palace. Then, I’ll tell you whatever you want to know, alright?"

Luo Ziyun said suddenly in a gentle voice, seeing Tu Xiao’an’s dejected expression.

In truth, her expression beneath the White Silk wasn’t as casual as her tone suggested.

This was precisely why she had worn the White Silk veil this time. She knew she would be meeting him, but this meeting was different from the others. She felt a bit insecure, a bit flustered.

"There were several times I was in mortal danger, and I felt like someone was helping me from behind the scenes. Was that you?" Tu Xiao’an’s expression turned serious as he stared at Luo Ziyun.

This time, Luo Ziyun was straightforward. "It was indeed me. But I never actually managed to help you."
