Chapter 488: Chapter 481: Unparalleled in the World
To the Zhou Yuanjue of this moment, the lives of ordinary people were far too fragile. Even from hundreds of meters away, the full force of his unleashed Life Magnetic Field could instantly obliterate any living being within its range.
He was like a walking natural disaster. So long as he wished it, he could easily unleash a massive catastrophe wherever he went.
Numbers had completely lost their meaning to him.
CRASH! CLATTER! THUD!!
The people in the hospital watched clearly as, one by one, the fully-armed thugs were enveloped in a silver-and-red light. They toppled over like rigid logs, crashing to the ground and falling utterly silent.
The battlefield, once deafeningly loud from the concussive blasts of heavy weaponry, fell deathly silent in an instant.
Everything had changed in the blink of an eye, so quickly that no one had time to process it.
’Dead... Are they dead? Are they all dead?’
Everyone was dumbfounded, finding it hard to believe. With their limited understanding of the power of the Life Magnetic Field, they couldn’t comprehend what had just happened from such a great distance and without any grand, spectacular attack.
It was like Magic or a Divine Power.
As a result, even after Zhou Yuanjue retracted his magnetic field and every hostile combatant around the hospital was dead, no one dared to take a single step outside. They all just stared as the shimmering figure tapped the ground lightly with his toes. As if freed from the shackles of Earth’s gravity, he swiftly arrived in front of the hospital, stopping right in the center of their vision.
"Everyone, you are safe now. Please remain in the hospital and wait. Personnel will arrive shortly to escort you to a secure zone."
Zhou Yuanjue spread his Life Magnetic Field, and his magnificent voice, like that of a Divine Being, echoed from all directions, reaching the ears of every single person.
Then, he turned and, with light steps, moved swiftly into the distance. In moments, he vanished like a wisp of smoke among the ruins on the horizon, leaving no trace behind.
It all felt like a dream, leaving everyone with a profound sense of unreality.
’The true nature of this world... it’s just insane.’
’That a human being could possess this level of power...’
WHIRRRRRRR!!
It wasn’t until the faint sound of propellers echoed from the distance and helicopters flew in swiftly from beyond the horizon that everyone finally snapped back to their senses.
"We’re saved..."
It was unclear who was the first to exclaim it.
"We’re saved! We’re really and truly saved this time!"
"Thank you to the Warrior from Donghua!! Long live the motherland!!"
"..."
Fervent cheers and screams erupted from the crowd. The immense pressure from the past two days was released in an instant. Some people wept with joy, pulling each other into excited embraces.
The brief wait for the rescue helicopters felt agonizingly long. Finally, three military transport helicopters touched down on an open patch of ground in front of the hospital.
"All units, be on high alert!!"
This rescue mission was a joint operation between the Liya Republic and the elite Donghua forces stationed in Liya. As one of the joint commanders, Valena peered grimly through the helicopter window at the enemy combatants on the ground.
They were all equipped with the most advanced, high-lethality weapons; in terms of gear quality alone, even the ace units of the Liya Republic couldn’t compare. He had to confirm that there were absolutely no survivors on the battlefield, or they would remain a massive threat.
"Don’t be so worried," said Huang Bin, the Donghua commander for the operation, clapping Valena on the shoulder to ease his tension. "Since *he* was the one to confirm it, there’s no way anyone could have survived."
"You people from Donghua have an old saying: ’One can’t be too careful.’"
Valena shook his head. The helicopter door opened, and Valena, Rita, and the others filed out, immediately taking cover. They then activated a life-sign detector, scanning the battlefield.
The life-sign detector showed no signs of life on the battlefield.
Valena gave a hand signal, and the special operatives of the Liya Republic moved out swiftly. They immediately secured key points across the area and began a thorough search of the battlefield.
"All hostiles are confirmed deceased. A preliminary inspection shows no external injuries. The cause of death for all of them was brain death."
"Furthermore, we found this on their bodies."
Rita said with a grave expression, handing a few quickly-developed photos to Valena.
The photos showed parts of the dead thugs’ bodies, each bearing an identical, crow-like tattoo.
The final photo was a headshot of their leader.
"The Black Crow Mercenary Army, one of the most infamous mercenary groups under the Baiyi Organization. Their leader, Black Crow, is a core member of the Baiyi Organization."
Valena drew a sharp breath. The Black Crow Mercenary Army was infamous across the entire Black Continent. They were outfitted with world-class equipment, and it was said that their few hundred Mercenaries could conquer most nations on the continent in a frontal assault. He couldn’t believe they had all been wiped out here.
"All their gear was state-of-the-art. In terms of power and technological advancement, their weapons are at least two generations ahead of what our own ace ground forces use."
"And most importantly, we found that they had expended all of their heavy-weapon ammunition. And yet... that man... is completely unscathed..."
Rita said in a low voice.
"He is a being beyond our comprehension..."
Valena shook his head and sighed.
The power of such a being was far beyond their cognitive grasp.
"Also," Rita continued, "according to our colleagues who went to collect remains from the other battlefield, they found one relatively complete corpse and a... piece of another corpse that is still regenerating."
"After confirmation from Donghua personnel, these two sets of remains belong to two of the Seven Mo Luo, the top figures of the Celestial Organization. This means the number of the Seven Mo Luo who ambushed him this time was likely as high as four."
"Andy, the leader of the Desolation Organization—one of the three great powers in the Black Continent—is considered one of the three strongest individuals on the continent, alongside Bai Jiu of the Baiyi Organization and Dela of the Hunting Mark Organization. And according to intelligence shared with Donghua, it’s almost certain that Andy himself is one of the Celestial Organization’s Seven Mo Luo..."
Rita trailed off, a look of utter shock flashing in her eyes.
Valena understood her unspoken implication. The intelligence sent a jolt, like an electric current, through his entire body.
’There were four of the Seven Mo Luo in the ambush... And Andy, one of the top three most powerful individuals on the continent, is only *one* of the Seven Mo Luo...’
’And yet, the battle ended in that man’s total victory, while the enemy left two bodies behind.’
’Ignoring all other factors and just doing a simple calculation... doesn’t that mean that even if the top three strongest individuals in the entire Black Continent joined forces, they still wouldn’t be a match for him?’
Valena was at a loss for words to describe his shock.
’In the entire world... is there anyone left who could possibly defeat that man?’
’Among all living beings, from ancient times to the present day...’
’This must be what that ancient Donghua saying meant by... unparalleled in all the world.’
