Chapter 57: Chapter 57: The Invitation from the Temple

One full week passed quietly.

After returning from the S-level polluted zone, Yue Yue did not step outside even once. She stayed inside the private housing of the Winged Serpent State, lazing around like a salted fish with no ambition. There were no missions from the system, no sudden survival threats, and no forced tasks that challenged her sanity.

For the first time in a long while, her days were slow.

Surprisingly, the system had rewarded her.

[Ding!]

[Favorability of Han Soi has exceeded 80%.]

[Bonus Reward: +15 Days of Life.]

When Yue Yue saw the notification, she blinked twice to make sure she wasn’t hallucinating.

"Fifteen days... just like that?" she muttered.

Gaining fifteen extra days without risking her life felt unreal. So she was happy that she wanted to kiss the handsome face of Han Soi every day.

After that, she truly relaxed.

With no missions assigned, Yue Yue spent most of her time doing random things. Cooking, cleaning, experimenting, eating, sleeping, and repeating.

She cooked a lot.

Not because she was hungry but because she finally could.

Thanks to her rising income from live streaming, she no longer hesitated to buy pollution-free food. Vegetables, grains, meats, spices...things she once only dared to dream of were now sitting openly in her kitchen.

Even Han Soi often brought her ingredients directly from the Star Net.

Each time he appeared, he would silently place items on the table before disappearing again, like a delivery system with emotions.

Yue Yue didn’t question it. She just cooked.

And every time she went live, the effect was shocking.

Her live stream audience had grown rapidly. Tens of thousands turned into hundreds of thousands. Soon, her follower count crossed one million.

The viewers loved watching her cook.

Loved watching her eat.

Loved watching her live a peaceful life as a pampered young lady.

After each live stream, the food she prepared would be sold out instantly...sometimes ten times more than the quantity she had originally planned. The demand kept rising.

Star coins poured in. Yue Yue became generous.

She cooked more, ate better, and slowly forgot the taste of the nutrition solution...the dry, shit-like flavor that once kept her alive. Now, her meals were warm and flavorful.

Her life finally felt human again.

Aside from cooking, Yue Yue did something else.

She planted plants.

During her time in the polluted zone, she had secretly collected soil and stored it inside her special space. No one knew about it. Not even Han Soi at that time.

And after purifying it, that soil was precious and fertile.

Inside the private housing of the Winged Serpent State, Yue Yue planted different types of seeds, vegetables, and fruits.

Slowly, green life began to grow. No one was allowed to enter this housing.

It was her territory. Her sanctuary. Yue Yue felt safe here. Days passed like this until one quiet afternoon.

Yue Yue was sprawled on the couch, lazily scrolling through her live stream comment section. The comments were as chaotic as ever.

"Goddess, marry me!"

"I want to eat what you cook!" ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

"Please go live again!"

"Are you an Orc or an angel?"

She snorted softly.

"All beastmen are the same whether in her world or this one," she muttered.

Just then...

Her terminal lit up with a bright light. freewёbnoνel.com

Before she could even touch it, the screen froze. The live stream disappeared. The comments vanished.

Everything went blank.

Yue Yue straightened up instantly.

Then, a single message appeared in front of her eyes.

A formal pop-up.

[Formal Invitation Notice]

[All unregistered females and females who have reached the age of 18 this year are required to attend the Temple Ceremony, Celestial Bloom Rite.]

[Attendance is mandatory.]

Yue Yue stared at the word "temple." Her fingers tightened. The air around her felt colder.

"...Temple?"

Her heart skipped a beat. Temple. Is this the same temple she remembers? The one connected to the fourth villain. A chill ran down her spine.

Her instincts screamed danger.

She didn’t even hesitate. She turned her head sharply and grabbed Lulu, who was standing nearby.

"Lulu," Yue Yue asked urgently, "what is this?"

Lulu’s expression changed the moment he saw the notice.

"Young Madam," he said carefully, "this is an official invitation from the Temple."

Yue Yue frowned. "Invitation? Why me?"

Lulu explained slowly, his tone respectful but firm.

"All females who are unregistered or who have just turned eighteen must attend the ceremony. It is a law recognized across all regions. The purpose is to test fertility levels and spiritual compatibility."

Yue Yue’s face darkened.

"...I don’t want to go."

The words left her mouth instinctively.

She looked at Lulu and asked quietly, "Can I not go?"

Lulu lowered his head.

"Young Madam," he said, "no one has ever defied the Temple."

Yue Yue’s heart sank.

"If someone refuses," Lulu continued, "the Temple will send people personally. They will come here and take the female by force."

Yue Yue clenched her fists.

"That’s insane."

Lulu nodded slightly. "I have read the records. There has never been a successful refusal. Most females are eager to attend. This is the only time they can know their fertility potential and spiritual comfort level."

Yue Yue felt sick.

"So... only at eighteen," she murmured.

"Yes," Lulu confirmed. "Only at eighteen."

Yue Yue leaned back slowly, her eyes fixed on the floating message.

It seems her good day is over; she really doesn’t want to go there at all.

Han Soi arrived without any sound. The first thing he noticed was the silence.

Yue Yue was sitting with a perfectly still body. Her eyes were fixed on the air in front of her, unfocused, as if she was looking through something rather than at it. Her fingers rested loosely on her knees, pale and unmoving.

She looked frozen. Han Soi’s brows knitted together. Something was wrong.

In two long strides, he crossed the room and pulled her straight into his arms.

Yue Yue’s body stiffened for a brief second, as if startled by the sudden warmth.

Then...she relaxed.

Her frozen posture collapsed, and her forehead pressed lightly against his chest. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat seeped into her awareness, slow and strong, grounding her back into reality.

Han Soi wrapped one arm firmly around her waist and placed his other hand against the back of her head, shielding her as if the world itself were dangerous.

"It’s me," he said quietly.

Only two words.

But Yue Yue’s eyes finally blinked.

Her fingers curled into the fabric of his clothes, gripping tightly.

Behind them, Lulu stood silently.

If a mechanical servant could feel excitement, Lulu would be practically glowing.

Yue Yue stayed like that for a long moment. Han Soi didn’t rush her.

He stayed still, letting her lean on him, his presence solid and unshakable. He could feel how tense she had been by the way her body slowly softened against him.

Finally, her voice came out in a low whisper.

"...The temple sent an invitation."

Han Soi’s arm tightened instantly. The temperature in the room seemed to drop by several degrees.

"The temple," he repeated.

Yue Yue nodded against his chest.

"They want all females who turned eighteen this year," she said. "Mandatory attendance."
