Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Epilogue - 01
Back in her original primitive beast world, Yue Yue was finally home.
The sun was warm and gentle. Yue Yue laughed happily as she played near the clear river with many other females from the beast city.
All of them had taken off their straw sandals and were running barefoot on the soft grass and wet sand. Their laughter echoed along the riverbank.
"Yue Yue, come here! The water feels so nice today!" called out a tall female named Mei Lan, waving her hand excitedly.
Yue Yue ran over with a big smile. "It really does! It’s colder than yesterday." She stepped into the shallow water and shivered a little, then giggled.
Another female, Xiao Shu, splashed water towards her playfully. "Got you! Look at your face, it’s all wet now!"
"Hey! That’s not fair!" Yue Yue laughed and splashed back harder. "Take this!"
The group of females burst into loud laughter as they chased each other along the river. One of the younger females, Little Hua, pointed at the small fish swimming around their feet. "Look! There are so many fish today. Should we try to catch some for dinner?"
"Yes! Let’s catch them together!" Mei Lan said cheerfully. "Yue Yue, you stand there and block their way. We will chase them towards you." freёwebnoѵel.com
Yue Yue nodded excitedly and took her position. "Okay, I’m ready! Don’t let them escape!"
They played for a long time, splashing water, shouting, and teasing each other. Yue Yue felt light and free. For a short while, the heavy pain in her heart became a little quieter.
Suddenly, something bright flashed deep in the river.
Yue Yue stopped and stared at the water. A strange glowing light moved slowly under the surface, shining like a small star. She tilted her head, curious.
"What is that...?" she whispered to herself.
Xiao Shu noticed her standing still. "Yue Yue? What are you looking at?"
But Yue Yue did not answer. She stepped closer to the river, following the glowing light as it drifted downstream. Step by step, she moved away from the group, her eyes fixed on the mysterious shine.
"Yue Yue! Where are you going?" Mei Lan called out loudly. "Come back! Don’t go too far!"
"Yeah, stay with us!" Little Hua shouted. "The current gets stronger that way!"
Yue Yue heard their voices, but she was too focused on the glowing light. She kept walking, not realizing how far she had gone. The happy laughter and calls from her friends slowly faded behind her.
When the glowing light finally disappeared, Yue Yue blinked and looked around. The group of females was nowhere to be seen. The familiar voices had completely vanished. She was all alone.
She turned in circles, but she did not know this part of the river anymore. Tall trees and thick bushes surrounded her. A small feeling of worry rose in her chest.
Yue Yue quietly sat down on the smooth stones at the shore of the river. She did not cry or shout for help.
Instead, she picked up small pebbles and threw them one by one into the water, watching the ripples spread out. The strange glowing thing she had followed had also disappeared.
Now there was nothing left to do but wait.
She believed someone from the beast city would come looking for her soon.
Maybe her elder brothers would notice she was missing and search for her. They always protected her. They would definitely come.
Because of this, Yue Yue did not move from her spot. She stayed sitting on the riverbank, throwing pebbles into the river with soft plopping sounds.
She kept her eyes on the path, afraid that if she walked away, she might miss her brothers or the rescue team when they arrived.
The sun slowly moved across the sky. The river continued to flow peacefully beside her.
Yue Yue hugged her knees tightly, her small bare feet covered in mud and sand. She whispered softly to herself, "They will come... Big brothers will find me soon."
Yue Yue sat on the riverbank for a long time, throwing pebbles into the water. The sun was getting lower and she started feeling bored. The quiet around her made her thoughts wander.
Suddenly, she began to miss her husbands very much.
Han Soi with his strong and steady presence, Xing Luoye and Xing Luoguang with their fierce yet gentle ways, Feng Yanshen with his chaotic and holy aura, and Cang Yuze with his enchanting deep ocean blue eyes.
She hugged her knees tighter and whispered softly, "Are they doing well without me? They must have already married new females by now... They must have found someone better to love and take care of them."
Her heart ached at the thought.
"What about my Xiao Bai? And my twin griffin cubs... They must have grown up so much by now. Are they eating well? Are they happy?"
She missed them so deeply it hurt. The love she had for all of them was still strong inside her chest, even though she had chosen to return to this world.
Yue Yue lay down on the warm sand beside the river. She closed her eyes as hot tears slowly spilled from the corners of her eyes and rolled down her cheeks.
"I’m sorry... I hope you are all happy now," she thought with a heavy heart full of guilt and pain.
But suddenly, she felt a warm touch.
Someone was gently kissing away the tears from her face.
Yue Yue’s eyes snapped open in shock.
She came face to face with Cang Yuze’s enchanting face. His deep ocean blue eyes were looking straight into hers, filled with emotions she could not describe. His long light blue hair fell around them like a curtain.
He whispered softly, his voice low and full of longing, "Yue Yue..."
Yue Yue was so shocked that she immediately sat up on the sand. Her eyes were wide as she quickly held Cang Yuze’s face with both hands.
"Are you real?" she asked in a trembling voice. "Is this really you?"
