She expected him to catch her. She expected him to pull her into his arms and growl at Lin En for touching her. She expected him to destroy the collar and take her home.
But as she reached for him, Xing Luoguang’s expression didn’t change. It was as cold and hard as a block of ice.

He took a sharp step backward, avoiding her touch as if she were something disgusting.
He didn’t say a word. He didn’t even look her in the eye. He just stood there, tall and silent, standing right by Lin En’s side.
Yue Yue’s hands remained frozen in midair. She felt like her heart had been ripped out and thrown into the deepest, darkest pit of the universe.
"Luoguang?" she whispered, her voice trembling. "It’s me. It’s your Yue Yue..."
Xing Luoguang finally flicked his gaze toward her, but there was no love in his eyes. There was only a terrifying, empty void.
Lin En laughed, a loud, triumphant sound that echoed through the marble hall. She leaned her head on Luoguang’s shoulder and smirked at her.
"See, Yue Yue?" Lin En mocked. "I told you. Everything that was yours... is now mine."
Yue Yue stood in the middle of the room, her body shaking. The man she loved was standing right in front of her, but he was a stranger.
She looked at the 95% Villain Mode warning flashing in her mind and realized the horrible truth. Xing Luoguang hadn’t just found Lin En, he had completely lost himself.
The marble hall was silent for only a second before Yue Yue’s mind completely snapped.
The sight of Xing Luoguang standing by Lin En’s side, cold and indifferent, was the final blow to her sanity. She could not think rationally anymore. Every gentle part of her soul was burned away by a white hot, vengeful fire.
She looked at Lin En’s smug, disgusting face and then at the dark void in Luoguang’s eyes. A strange, eerie calm settled over her, even as her own eyes turned a deep, enraged crimson.
"You have completely lost yourself," Yue Yue said, her voice dropping to a low, chilling whisper. "You are a lunatic. This world does not need a person like you. It doesn’t need a monster that steals lives."
Lin En tilted her head, her smile widening. "Oh? And what are you going to do about it, sister Yue Yue?"
"I think I should do a favor for this world," Yue Yue replied, her teeth gritted so hard they nearly turned to dust. "It would be a truly good deed if I erased a parasite like you... someone who only knows how to leech off things that don’t belong to her."
The word "parasite" seemed to trigger something dark inside Lin En. Her eyes flashed, and her expression became twisted with murderous intent.
"You bitch!" Lin En screamed. She lunged forward, her hand raised to deliver a crushing slap.
But Yue Yue was prepared this time. She didn’t flinch. With a speed she didn’t know she possessed, she dodged the blow and swung her own hand.
CRACK!
The sound of the slap echoed through the mansion like a gunshot. Yue Yue had put every ounce of her rage into the hit. Lin En was thrown to the floor, her jaw clicking painfully as it was nearly dislocated.
Lin En scrambled up, her hair messy and her face swelling. She let out a sound that didn’t belong to a human. It was a high pitched, vibrating screech, the exact same sound a Zerg makes when it is cornered.
"How dare you! How dare you hit me!" Lin En growled, her voice becoming raspy and distorted.
Yue Yue covered her ears, her heart racing in horror. "You... you aren’t even a female anymore. Look at you. You’ve become a monster. Are you even human, or have you just become a puppet for the Zerg?"
"I am your death!" Lin En roared.
She lunged again, her fingers curling like claws. But Yue Yue’s Dragon Sword was already in her hand. With a thought, the silver metal liquefied and shifted, extending into a long, glowing whip blade.
Swish!
The whip lashed out, coiling tightly around Lin En’s neck like a silver serpent. Yue Yue pulled back with all her strength, the metal digging into Lin En’s throat, cutting off her air.
Lin En gasped, her hands clawing at the whip, her face turning a sickly shade of purple. In her desperation, she forgot to activate the taming collar on Yue Yue’s neck. She could only struggle as the pressure increased.
"I should have done this a long time ago," Yue Yue hissed, her red eyes staring into Lin En’s soul. "You will never hurt my family again."
As the whip cut deeper, Lin En’s pupils suddenly rolled back into her head. Her eyes became solid, terrifying pits of blackness. A dark aura exploded from her body, pushing Yue Yue back slightly.

With a blur of black motion, his hand shot out, reaching for Yue Yue’s throat.
"Luo... Luoguang?" Yue Yue gasped, her grip on the whip loosening in shock.
The man who had once promised to protect her with his life was now the weapon that was going to end it.
