Chapter 295: Chapter 295: The Bloody Struggle

The fight was a nightmare. Yue Yue wasn’t a warrior; she was a girl relying on an artifact. Her movements were clumsy. She slashed and stabbed, the Dragon Sword changing shape frantically to protect her, but the horde was too dense. freёweɓnovel.com

A Zerg claw raked across her thigh. Another slammed into her back, throwing her into a pile of rubble.

"Ah!" Yue Yue gasped, the taste of blood filling her mouth. Blood blurred her vision, dripping from a cut on her forehead. She tried to stand, but her strength was failing. Her robes were now stained a deep, messy crimson.

"I... I can’t..." Yue Yue whispered. She looked up at the sky, her eyes hazy. Around her, the Zerg stopped attacking. They didn’t retreat; they simply stood in a circle, hissing softly, as if they were waiting for their master.

Suddenly, the sound of rhythmic clicking echoed through the silence. It wasn’t the sound of Zerg legs. It was the sound of high heels hitting stone.

"Oh, Yue Yue. My dear, sweet, foolish sister." freewebnovёl.ƈom

The voice was airy and mocking, making Yue Yue’s skin crawl. She squinted through the blood in her eyes.

Walking through the circle of deadly Zerg was Lin En. She wasn’t disheveled or scared. She was dressed glamorously, her hair perfect, walking toward the injured Yue Yue in pointed high heels as if she were walking a fashion runway.

The Zerg parted for her like loyal subjects.

Yue Yue’s heart turned to ice. "Lin En... why?"

Lin En stopped in front of her, looking down with a frown that was clearly fake. She stabbed her own chest with a hand, acting as if she were deeply hurt.

"Why did you run away from me? I thought we were friends. It breaks my heart that you would try to leave me behind in such a scary place."

Yue Yue looked at her with a deadpan, hollow expression. She didn’t say a word. She was too exhausted, and the betrayal was too heavy.

Lin En’s fake sadness vanished in an instant. She reached down and pinched Yue Yue’s bloody cheek, her nails digging into the wound.

"Such a cute little female," Lin En hissed, her eyes glowing with a terrifying light.

"But you really ruined everything. My plan was perfect. You were supposed to stay in your dead, backward world. Why did you have to come here?"

Yue Yue’s eyes widened so much they hurt. Her breath hitched. "What did you say?"

"Don’t play dumb with me," Lin En laughed, a cold sound that echoed in the wasteland. "You think you’re the only one? You think you’re special because you ’transmigrated’ here? You’re nothing but a bug in the system, Yue Yue."

Yue Yue was truly stunned. This was her deepest secret, the fact that she wasn’t originally from this Interstellar Beast World. No one knew, not even her husbands. But Lin En had just said the word.

"You... you’re a transmigrator too?" Yue Yue whispered.

"I am the protagonist!" Lin En snapped, her face twisting with rage. "This world was supposed to be mine! The five villains, the power, the glory... it was all scripted for me! But then you showed up with your ’cute’ act and your ’S+++’ rank, and you stole my men! You stole my destiny!"

Lin En leaned in close, her breath cold against Yue Yue’s ear.

"I’ve been watching you since the day you arrived. I directed the Zerg to find you. I made sure your path was filled with monsters. And now, in this place where no one can hear you scream, I’m going to take back what belongs to me."

Lin En stood up, smoothing her dress. She looked at the Zerg horde.

"Do you know why you can’t run, Yue Yue? Because I have the ’Heroine System.’ And in my story, the side character always dies a miserable death."

Yue Yue lay in the dirt, her blood soaking into the gray dust. She looked at the girl she once called a friend, and for the first time, she didn’t feel fear. She felt a burning, white hot anger.

She wants my life? Yue Yue thought, her fingers slowly curling around the hilt of the Dragon Sword.

"System," Yue Yue whispered in her mind, her voice cold. "Forget the escape route. Give me everything we have. If I’m going to die, I’m taking this fake ’heroine’ with me."

She looked up at Lin En, who was standing there like a proud peacock, and let out a cold, mocking laugh.

"Protagonist?" Yue Yue spat, a mixture of blood and dirt flying from her lips. "You think because you have some ’Heroine System’ and know the future, you’re special? To me, you’re nothing but a delusional bitch."

Lin En’s face warped. The "pretty" mask she had worn for so long shattered completely, leaving behind a face filled with demonic rage.

She lunged forward, her high heels digging into the dirt, and gripped Yue Yue’s chin so hard it felt like the bone would snap.

"You bitch!" Lin En hissed, her breath hot against Yue Yue’s face. "How dare you curse me? You’re just a side character! A stepping stone! I was going to kill you quickly, but now? Now I’ve changed my mind."

She leaned in closer, her eyes glittering with a sick light. "I’m going to give you a torture worse than death. Those five bastards you call mates... they were supposed to be mine."

"They betrayed me for a filthy snake like you. I’ll make them crawl to me. I’ll make them beg for forgiveness just to save your life. And then, once they’ve given me everything, I’ll kill you slowly right in front of their eyes. How’s that for a plot twist?"

Yue Yue didn’t flinch. She stared back with eyes that were cold and deadpan. "You’re sick in the head. Do you even know what a protagonist is? Someone as ugly and petty as you could never be one. The heavens must have made a mistake when they picked you."
