Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Not One, But Two

Feng Yanshen and Xing Luoye stepped back inside, both looking slightly disheveled.

Feng Yanshen had a small, blooming bruise on his cheekbone, and Xing Luoye’s lip was split, a thin trail of blood drying on his chin.

Their talk had clearly been more of a physical exchange than a verbal one, but the moment they crossed the threshold, they both froze.

The scene before them was far from what they expected.

Yue Yue was still tucked firmly against Han Soi’s chest, but her appearance had changed completely.

Her lips were noticeably swollen and a deep, bee stung red. Her eyes were misty and unfocused, shimmering with a shy, bashful light as if she had just been thoroughly bullied, but in the most affectionate way possible.

Han Soi and Cang Yuze, however, looked remarkably composed. In fact, both men wore faint, smug smiles that they did not even try to hide.

Without missing a beat, they went back to tending to her. Cang Yuze picked up a piece of tender fish, blowing on it gently before holding it to her lips. Han Soi, meanwhile, held a cup of water to her mouth, his thumb lingering on her jaw.

Yue Yue was so embarrassed she could not even look up. Her face was flushed a brilliant crimson as she silently and obediently ate whatever they fed her, her movements small and hesitant.

Xing Luoye’s eyes widened to the size of saucers. He stood paralyzed, his heart hammering against his ribs. He had only been gone for ten minutes, and yet the atmosphere around Yue Yue had shifted into something far more intimate than before.

Feng Yanshen, on the other hand, looked like he was about to vomit blood from sheer anger.

His eyes flared as they landed on Yue Yue’s swollen lips. He knew that look. He knew exactly what had happened behind his back while he was busy disciplining this traitor.

The possessiveness in his gut roared. He felt a sharp pang of jealousy that made his fingers twitch. He had spent his energy fighting outside, while these two had stayed behind to comfort her.

"You two..." Feng Yanshen hissed, his voice trembling with suppressed rage.

He marched over to the table, ignoring the stinging pain in his cheek. He did not care about the food or the decorum anymore. Seeing her like that, soft, flushed, and cared for by the others, made him want to push everyone aside and claim his own turn.

He stared at her reddened lips, his gaze darkening with hunger. He did not just want to talk anymore; he wanted a bite of that sweetness for himself.

"Move," he muttered to Han Soi, though his eyes never left Yue Yue’s face.

The atmosphere in the bedroom was completely different from the earlier chaotic tension of the dining hall.

Yue Yue leaned back against the headboard of the large bed, a blanket draped loosely over her lap. Her expression was still a little embarrassed from earlier, but it had softened into quiet curiosity.

Beside the bed stood an elderly doctor, his long white beard swaying slightly as he carefully checked her.

The poor doctor’s hands trembled slightly under the pressure of four high level beastmen staring him down, but he focused on the diagnostic device in his hand.

Around the room, the four men stood in different positions, but their attention was entirely fixed on Yue Yue.

Han Soi stood closest, his arms crossed, his sharp gaze locked onto the doctor as if he could force the results out faster.

Cang Yuze stood calmly at the side, though his slightly tense posture betrayed his concern.

Feng Yanshen leaned against a pillar with a frown, his arms folded tightly, clearly impatient.

And Xing Luoye stood a little farther back, unusually quiet, his pale face still showing traces of weakness from the poison.

The room was so silent that even Yue Yue could hear her own heartbeat.

After a few quiet moments, the device emitted a soft, melodic chime. The doctor’s face brightened, and he looked up with a wide smile.

"Congratulations," he said warmly. "The lady is indeed pregnant."

The moment the words fell, the tension in the room snapped.

Han Soi let out a breath he did not even realize he was holding.

Cang Yuze’s lips curved into a gentle smile.

Feng Yanshen straightened slightly, his eyes lighting up with a fierce, possessive pride.

Yue Yue blinked, her hand instinctively moving to her stomach.

Even though she already knew it, hearing it confirmed made it feel even better.

But before anyone could say more, the doctor chuckled softly and added,

"And not just one."

That single sentence froze everyone again. Yue Yue’s eyes widened.

"What?"

The doctor stroked his beard, clearly pleased.

"There are two cubs."

"Two?" Yue Yue’s voice came out soft but shocked, her eyes round like saucers.

Han Soi’s expression cracked for the first time.

"Twins?" he repeated, almost in disbelief.

Cang Yuze actually looked stunned, something extremely rare for him.

Feng Yanshen blinked once, twice, then suddenly laughed.

"Hah! As expected of my Yue Yue!"

Meanwhile, all three men slowly, very slowly turned their heads toward Xing Luoye.

Xing Luoye, who had been silent the entire time, looked like his soul had just left his body.

His already pale face turned even whiter.

"Two?" he whispered faintly. His lips trembled, his eyes unfocused. And then he swayed.

"I think..." he murmured weakly, "I need to sit."

But before he could even finish, his legs gave out.

Thud.

He dropped straight onto a nearby chair, looking like he might collapse any second.

The other three men stared at him with dark, unreadable expressions.

Feng Yanshen scoffed. "Look at you. It is not like you are the one giving birth."

Han Soi narrowed his eyes slightly, his voice low. "Why does he look more shocked than necessary?"

Cang Yuze did not speak, but his gaze lingered on Xing Luoye thoughtfully. He was even doubting whether he was capable; maybe it was not his child.

Xing Luoye, however, was in complete internal chaos.

Two. His mind was screaming. His hand slowly moved to his chest as if trying to steady his racing heart.

His expression was strangely complicated, from panic, surprise, and shock, and something else he himself could not quite name.

Meanwhile, Yue Yue was still processing.

She gently touched her stomach again, her expression slowly softening.

"Two cubs," she murmured.

A small, almost shy smile appeared on her lips.

Han Soi immediately moved closer, sitting beside her on the bed. His hand covered hers over her stomach, his expression filled with warmth and awe. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"Our cubs," he said softly.

Cang Yuze stepped forward as well, his calm returning as he spoke, "This is very rare, but also a blessing. I will personally ensure your health is perfectly maintained."

Feng Yanshen clicked his tongue but moved closer too, his gaze softening despite his usual arrogance.

"Then we just need to protect her properly," he said.
