Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Will He Survive the Journey?
With the help of Han Soi and Yue Yue, Xing Luoye was quickly taken deeper inside the Sea Empire’s aircraft. The attendants moved fast and silently, leading them into one of the best medical rooms on board.
The room was quiet and clean. Soft lights glowed along the walls, and several medical instruments were already prepared there. The moment Xing Luoye was placed on the bed, the healers immediately began stabilizing his condition.
They checked his pulse, his breathing, and the poison spreading through his blood. After a short while, they managed to slow the poison slightly so his body would not collapse immediately.
Yue Yue sat beside the bed the entire time.
She held Luoye’s hand tightly in both of hers, refusing to move even for a second. His skin felt cold, and his breathing was weak and uneven. Every small movement of his chest made her heart tighten painfully.
Xing Luoye looked like he was barely holding on.
At any moment, it seemed like he might lose consciousness completely.
Yue Yue’s chest suddenly felt heavy. Her fingers tightened around his hand without her noticing. Her heart felt as if it had been gripped by something sharp.
That boy had said he poisoned both brothers.
The thought struck her mind again like a hammer.
If Luoye was already in such a terrible condition, then what about Xing Luoguang? Was he safe? Or was his condition even worse?
The more she thought about it, the more her chest ached.
Her eyes slowly filled with tears.
She tried to blink them away, but they still burned painfully in the corners of her eyes. She could not stop the anger growing inside her heart.
And toward the person who had ordered him to poison the brothers.
How could someone be so cruel?
How could anyone use such a deadly poison on them?
Yue Yue clenched her jaw tightly.
The poison was already this terrifying. And now they were still far away from the Sea Empire. Even if the aircraft was fast, the journey would still take many days.
She suddenly remembered something.
When the brothers had taken her away from the Temple and brought her to Dune City, the journey itself had taken more than a week.
If the distance was the same...
Then returning to the Sea Empire would take just as long.
Did they really have that much time?
Yue Yue slowly looked down at Luoye again.
His pale face looked almost lifeless now. His eyes were closed, and even breathing seemed to require great effort from him.
Could he really survive until they reached the Sea Empire?
And even if Luoye survived and received the antidote... What about Luoguang? Her fingers trembled slightly.
She could save Luoye here. But how would she find Luoguang and give him the medicine too?
The thought filled her mind with countless worries.
Yue Yue sat there quietly, her heart completely restless as she watched Luoye’s pale face.
Behind her, Han Soi sat silently in an armchair. His posture looked relaxed, but his eyes remained calm and observant as he watched everything in the room.
He did not interrupt her thoughts. He simply stayed there quietly.
Feng Yanshen stood near the large window of the room. His tall figure was turned toward the vast darkness of space outside. The stars slowly passed by as the aircraft continued flying forward.
He had not spoken a single word since they entered the aircraft. His face was cold and unreadable.
The atmosphere inside the room was heavy and silent.
Near the door, Cang Yuzain stood quietly with his hands behind his back. His deep blue eyes occasionally moved toward the bed where Luoye lay unconscious.
All the other members of the Sea Empire had already left the room to continue managing the aircraft.
Only these few people remained there. The room felt strangely quiet. Only the soft sound of Luoye’s weak breathing could be heard.
Yue Yue slowly lifted her head and looked toward the man standing near the door.
Cang Yuzain had promised earlier that the Sea Empire could save Xing Luoye. That promise was the only thing keeping her calm right now.
But one question still remained in her mind.
Her fingers tightened slightly around Luoye’s hand before she finally asked, her voice quiet but serious.
"How many days will it take to reach the Sea Empire?"
She already knew the answer in her heart.
The distance between the Four Empires and the Dune City was extremely far. When she had traveled with the brothers before, even reaching Dune City had taken more than a week.
Still, she hoped she was wrong.
Cang Yuzain looked at her calmly. His answer came without hesitation. "Lady Yue Yue, it will take more than a week."
Those words immediately crushed the last bit of hope inside her heart.
He continued explaining patiently.
"The Sea Empire is located very far from the territories of the Three Empires. Between us are countless stars and planets." fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
His ocean-blue eyes remained calm as he spoke.
"Even with the most advanced spacecraft, we cannot cross such a distance quickly. We must travel through several space routes."
"So it will still take more than a week to reach there."
Yue Yue’s heart sank heavily. Her gaze slowly moved back toward Xing Luoye’s pale face lying on the bed.
Then she looked at Cang Yuzain again.
"But earlier you said he only has a few hours before the poison kills him," she said quietly.
Her voice trembled slightly despite her effort to stay calm.
"So how are we going to stop the poison from spreading?"
She paused for a moment before forcing herself to say the next words.
"What if... he dies before we even reach the Sea Empire?"
Saying that word made her chest ache painfully. But she had to ask. She had to know everything clearly.
What if they were simply lying to her? What if this was only a trick to make her travel to the Sea Empire?
She had to be careful.
