Chapter 194: Chapter 194: He Is My Husband

Xing Luoye finally gathered the last bit of strength left in his broken body.

With great difficulty, he pushed himself up from the ground. His movements were slow and shaky, like a man who could collapse at any moment.

Yue Yue quickly held his arm to support him.

"Don’t move too much," she said softly, her voice full of worry. "You’re badly injured."

Xing Luoye looked down at her small hands holding him.

For a moment, his eyes softened. Then he slowly lifted his own hand. It was covered in blood... his blood.

Before Yue Yue could react, he raised his trembling fingers and gently brushed them across her pale cheek. The bright red blood smeared across her soft skin.

Yue Yue froze in shock. Xing Luoye looked at the mark on her face with a strange, bitter smile.

"Yue Yue..." he said quietly.

"I still don’t know what to do." His voice sounded tired... almost lost. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"It seems... just like everyone else..." He paused, taking a slow, painful breath.

"I have already fallen for you too."

The confession rang in her mind, making her so stunned that she didn’t even know how to respond.

Yue Yue’s eyes trembled. "Luoye..."

Xing Luoye’s body was shaking from exhaustion. Slowly... he leaned forward and rested his forehead against Yue Yue’s shoulder.

His breath was warm and uneven against her ear.

"Yue..." he whispered weakly.

"Just... leave my brother."

His voice was full of pain.

"Don’t go after him."

Yue Yue’s heart suddenly trembled. She pulled back slightly and looked at him with wide eyes.

There was a deep hurt hidden in Luoye’s gaze.

Her lips trembled.

"Do you... think this is all because of me?" she asked softly, tears already gathering in her eyes.

Luoye looked at her silently for a moment. Then he smiled. But the smile was cold... mocking... and painfully bitter.

"Whether it is because of you or not," he said slowly.

"Whether you wanted it or not..." His voice became heavier.

"The people behind you will never leave us alone."

The smile on his lips became even more painful. The truth between them was cruel and unavoidable.

But before Yue Yue could say anything... Xing Luoye’s other hand suddenly slipped weakly from hers.

It fell gently against her stomach. His palm rested there for a moment. Then he murmured quietly,

"Just... take care of it... alright?"

Yue Yue froze completely. Her mind went blank.

"What...?"

She looked at him in shock. But Xing Luoye only gave her a mysterious smile.

A strange softness appeared in his eyes.

"Maybe I won’t survive this..." His voice was barely above a whisper.

"But you have to take care of it... okay?" Before Yue Yue could even understand what he meant...

BOOM.

A heavy fist suddenly smashed into Xing Luoye’s face.

Feng Yanshen had finally lost control. The punch sent Luoye crashing back onto the broken ground.

"Enough!"

Feng Yanshen’s voice was filled with fury. At the same time, Han Soi quickly pulled Yue Yue away and held her tightly in his arms.

Yue Yue struggled immediately.

"Luoye!" she cried.

She tried to look back, but Feng Yanshen stepped forward coldly.

"That’s enough," he said harshly. "You are coming back with me." He didn’t even look at Luoye.

"Leave this bastard here."

Yue Yue froze. She stared at him in disbelief. "Feng Yanshen..." Her voice trembled. "It’s not what you think."

"He is innocent."

But her words only made Feng Yanshen’s eyes grow darker and wilder. He was no longer in the mood to listen. If he looked at her any longer... he felt like he might lose control completely.

Without meeting her eyes, he grabbed her arm and began pulling her away. He only wanted to leave. To return to the Imperial fleet.

Let the Empire decide what to do with this man.

Han Soi quietly followed behind them. But just as they began to leave... a hoarse shout suddenly came from behind.

"Yue!"

It was Xing Luoye. His voice was loud but full of pain.

"For the love you have for my brother..."

"At least persuade them not to go after him!" His breathing was ragged.

"Let him go... please!"

"I am here!"

"Let them take me instead!"

"But leave my brother alone!"

His voice cracked with desperation. Yue Yue suddenly stopped walking. Her whole body froze. Tears immediately began flowing down her face.

She couldn’t leave like this. She couldn’t leave Luoye here like this.

Suddenly, she forcefully pulled her arm away from Feng Yanshen.

"You can’t force me!" she cried. "I am taking him with me! I will not leave him alone."

Feng Yanshen turned around sharply, shocked.

"What did you say?" His voice became cold.

"He is just a traitor of the Four Empires."

"How can you plead for him?" But Yue Yue didn’t step back. Her eyes were red, but her voice was firm.

"He is my husband." The words echoed through the ruined hall. Everyone froze.

Yue Yue continued, "I have already decided to take him as my husband." Her voice trembled slightly, but she didn’t stop.

"Just like you are important to me..."

"He is important to me too."

Silence fell over the battlefield.

Feng Yanshen’s face turned pale. He staggered back a step as if someone had struck him. His mind went blank.

Han Soi lowered his eyes quietly. He had already expected this. The moment he saw the concern in Yue Yue’s eyes for Xing Luoye... he had understood.

That was why he stopped Feng Yanshen earlier. Because if Feng Yanshen truly killed Luoye... Yue Yue’s anger would never forgive them.

Meanwhile...

Luoye himself looked completely stunned. For a moment, he couldn’t even breathe. Then suddenly... a mocking laugh escaped from his lips.

"Hah..."

He laughed weakly, like he couldn’t believe what he just heard.

What was this?

Pity?

Was she pitying him?

How pitiful.

For heaven’s sake... he really was pitiful.

Tears slowly rolled down the corners of his eyes as he looked up at the burning sky above.

The heavens had never shown mercy to their race. Not even once.
