Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Your Husband Is Dead!

Xing Luoye placed a heavy hand on his brother’s shoulder, a sad smile touching his lips.

"I am the elder, Luoguang. You have to listen to me. You are more strong-headed, but I am just an impulsive man. If I stay alive, I wouldn’t be able to lead our clan as well as you can. You have to survive for our race."

"I won’t leave you!" Luoguang choked out, tears stinging his eyes.

"You have a mate now," Luoye reminded him softly.

"You just married her. Are you really going to leave her alone in this world? You took her as your female, and now you want to abandon her by dying? Go to her. She is in the bunker. Lead our people to safety and build a new home elsewhere."

Xing Luoye felt ashamed for lying, but he knew using her was the only way he could send his brother away.

Luoguang felt a crushing weight in his chest.

The thought of Yue Yue’s face made his throat tighten. He hugged his brother harshly, his body shaking with silent sobs. He felt incredibly selfish for wanting to live when his brother was choosing to die, but the thought of leaving Yue Yue behind was even more unbearable.

"She would never want her husband to be a coward," Luoguang whispered against his brother’s shoulder.

"My brother could never be a coward," Luoye replied, his own voice breaking. He patted Luoguang’s back gently. "I will tell her that myself one day."

Suddenly, Luoye’s hand moved quickly. He struck a pressure point on Luoguang’s neck. Luoguang didn’t even have time to gasp before his eyes rolled back and he slumped into his brother’s arms, unconscious.

Luoye held his brother’s limp body for a moment, a single tear slipping down his cheek. He looked at his loyal men who were waiting in the shadows.

"Take him," Xing Luoye commanded, his voice turning cold and sharp again. "Get Xing Luoguang to the aircraft and depart immediately. Do not look back."

The guards hesitated, looking at their leader.

"Go!" Xing Luoye barked. Then, his eyes narrowed as he thought of the female who had caused so much turmoil. "And leave that female here. You, all of you, go. I will handle the rest."

He stood alone in the center of the room, the red lights reflecting in his eyes, ready to face the storm of the four empires by himself.

Yue Yue finally arrived at the main console room, her chest heaving as she pushed open the doors. She expected to find a hive of activity, but the room was eerily quiet. The only sound was the distant, muffled echoes of explosions from outside.

"Luoguang? Xing Luoguang!" she called out, her voice trembling.

She walked deeper into the room, her heart dropping into her stomach when she realized the command chairs were empty. She felt a wave of loneliness wash over her.

But then, a low, bitter laugh came from the center of the room. One of the high-backed command seats rotated slowly.

Yue Yue froze. She came face-to-face with the mocking, smiley expression of Xing Luoye. freeweɓnøvel.com

"You are here," she breathed, looking around frantically. "Where is Xing Luoguang? Where is my husband?"

Xing Luoye looked at her with a chilling, taunting expression. His eyes were bloodshot and filled with a dark madness. "Dead," he said simply. "My brother is dead."

Yue Yue’s face turned ghost-white. She felt like someone had punched her in the lungs. "What nonsense are you saying? He is your brother! How could you say something so horrible?"

She was so angry she wanted to hit him. She stepped forward, her hand raised, but before she could touch him, Xing Luoye grabbed her wrist with a grip like iron. He forced her to turn toward the massive horizontal screens that lined the walls.

"How could he not be dead?" Luoye pointed at the screen with a trembling finger. "Look. See your family? Your people are here. They are here to claim their ’precious female’ back."

The screen zoomed in on the leading Imperial spacecraft. Yue Yue’s eyes widened. She recognized the cold, regal features of Feng Yanshen and the sharp, calculating face of Han Soi.

"Your lovers are here to kill me and my brother," Luoye whispered harshly in her ear.

"How could my brother stand against so many? Of course he is dead. He went out to fight them, and now he is gone."

He emphasized the word "dead" over and over, watching the color drain from Yue Yue’s face. She shook her head violently, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"No! They wouldn’t kill him! Feng Yanshen and Han Soi is not like that! Let me talk to them!" she screamed.

Xing Luoye saw red. Hearing her defend the very men who were currently destroying his home made him lose the last of his sanity.

He looked at her pure and innocent expression that made any man’s instinct roar, but he realized that hidden behind such a beautiful face was a scheming female.

He couldn’t control his emotions anymore. He pulled her shoulder toward him and dipped down, kissing her fiercely and cruelly.

Yue Yue was stunned. This wasn’t the gentle love of Luoguang; this was the desperate, angry act of a man who had lost everything.

She fought back, pushing him with all her strength. She managed to break free and slapped him hard across the face.

"Don’t touch me!" she sobbed.

Suddenly, a deafening roar filled the air. The roof above them exploded in a rain of debris and fire. Huge pieces of stone and metal fell toward them.

Without thinking, Xing Luoye lunged forward. He used his entire body as a shield, covering Yue Yue as the ceiling collapsed.

Yue Yue’s ears were ringing so loudly she couldn’t hear anything. The dust was thick and suffocating. When she finally dared to peek from under Luoye’s arm, she froze.

Standing in the middle of the wreckage, surrounded by smoke, was Feng Yanshen. His eyes were glowing a terrifying red.
