Chapter 166: Chapter 166: You Choose Her...

The night wind grew colder as they moved farther away from the city, and when Xing Luoguang finally stopped, Yue Yue slowly opened her eyes and looked around in shock.

This place was nothing like the lively streets they had just left; it was simple, quiet, and unbelievably beautiful, standing peacefully at the outskirts of the city without noise or crowds.

There were no vendors shouting, no glowing lights in busy streets, and no hurried footsteps echoing across roads, only tall trees, soft silver moonlight, and endless silence.

The silence was so deep that Yue Yue felt even a whisper would resound clearly through the open space, and she could almost hear her own breathing in the still air.

The night breeze carried the faint scent of flowers, cool and refreshing, making the entire place feel calm, serene, and quietly lonely in a gentle way.

Where did flowers smell came? She had never seen any flowers after coming here, or is it just a man-made smell?

Xing Luoguang did not speak and simply walked forward with steady steps, while Yue Yue quickly followed behind, lifting her skirt slightly so it would not brush against the ground.

They entered a wide courtyard surrounded by stone pillars and ancient trees, where there were no guards, no servants, and no light except the pale glow of the moon.

The place felt empty at first glance, yet strangely heavy with unspoken memories, as if every corner silently remembered the past.

At the very center stood a single stone grave, simple and clean without grand decoration, with only fresh flowers on it, resting quietly beneath the open night sky.

Yue Yue’s heart tightened when she realized this must be their father’s grave, and she slowly turned her gaze forward.

Then she froze.

Someone was leaning against the gravestone with his head resting on the cold surface and his eyes closed as if asleep under the moonlight.

It was Xing Luoye.

For a brief moment, both of them stood still as Xing Luoguang’s steps slowed, and Yue Yue could clearly feel the heavy seriousness in his aura.

They walked closer, and only then did she notice a bottle lying on the ground nearby, the scent of alcohol lingering in the cold air.

Xing Luoguang’s expression darkened immediately as he crouched down and reached out to lift his brother carefully from the ground.

"Luoye," he called quietly, his voice low but firm.

The moment his hand touched him, Xing Luoye suddenly opened his eyes, which were red, unfocused, and clouded with drunken haze.

Without warning, he grabbed Xing Luoguang’s collar tightly and muttered in a trembling voice, "Brother... you are my brother, right?"

Xing Luoguang’s expression hardened as he replied coldly that his brother was drunk, his gaze shifting to the empty bottle with visible anger.

"You fool," he said sternly. "How could you drink this? Do you even know how harmful this is to your body?"

Xing Luoye tried to push himself up, but his body swayed weakly as he stared at his brother with unfocused eyes filled with confusion and pain.

"Brother... you traitor..." he slurred, his lips trembling as he struggled to speak clearly.

"How could you betray me like this? Do you know what will happen because of this?" he continued, though his voice kept breaking.

He tried to add more words, mumbling "but... but..." as if fighting with the thoughts inside his confused mind.

Xing Luoguang’s eyes sharpened instantly when he realized where the words were heading, and before Luoye could say Yue Yue’s name, he covered his mouth firmly.

"Enough," Xing Luoguang said in a low but commanding tone, refusing to let him continue.

Xing Luoye struggled weakly under his brother’s grip, and his blurry gaze slowly shifted until it landed on Yue Yue standing nearby.

She had stepped closer with worried eyes and slightly furrowed brows, noticing clearly now that there were dried tear marks on his face.

Yue Yue was stunned because she had never imagined that this proud and stubborn man would cry alone in such a silent place.

Xing Luoye stiffened the moment he saw her and weakly tried to push his brother’s hand away, though he lacked the strength to do so.

Suddenly his face turned pale, and he bent forward abruptly as he began to retch, his body shaking under the weight of alcohol.

Xing Luoguang immediately supported him with one arm and frowned. "Luoye, look at me. Are you alright? Can you even stand properly?" His voice was calm, but the tension inside it was clear.

Xing Luoye did not answer. He only breathed heavily, his body trembling slightly as if he might collapse at any moment.

Without thinking, Yue Yue stepped closer and gently patted Luoye’s back. "Slow down... don’t move so suddenly," she said softly. She took the cloth from her sleeve and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "What happened to you? Why did you drink so much?"

Luoye’s lashes trembled. He suddenly flinched and weakly slapped her hand away.

"Don’t touch me," he muttered hoarsely. "You... you are not allowed to touch me."

Yue Yue blinked, stunned. "Excuse me?" she said, staring at him. "I was just helping you. Who wants to touch you in the first place?"

Luoye lifted his head slightly and looked at her with red, unfocused eyes. "Stay away," he said stubbornly. "I don’t need your pity."

"Pity?" Yue Yue almost laughed in disbelief. "You think I’m pitying you? I’m just asking what’s wrong with you."

Xing Luoguang’s grip tightened slightly on his brother’s shoulder. "Luoye, stop talking nonsense," he said coldly. "You’re drunk." freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

"I’m not drunk!" Luoye suddenly snapped, though his voice slurred at the end. He pointed at Yue Yue with shaking fingers. "She... she shouldn’t be here."

Yue Yue crossed her arms. "Oh? And why shouldn’t I be here? Is this your private graveyard?"

Luoye gave a bitter laugh. "Yes. It is mine. Everything here is mine." He let out another shaky breath. "You evil female... don’t touch me."

"EVIL FEMALE?" Yue Yue repeated, her brows twitching. "You really drank too much. Should I remind you who was just vomiting a moment ago?"

Luoye glared at her weakly, but his eyes were glossy. "I hate you," he said suddenly. "I hate you... I hate you all of you..."

His voice broke at the end.

Xing Luoguang’s expression darkened. "Luoye."

But Luoye continued, staring somewhere past them. "Father is gone... everything is gone... and now even you..." He looked at his brother with pain-filled eyes. "You chose her."

Yue Yue froze.

Xing Luoguang’s voice became colder. "That’s enough."
