Chapter 106: Chapter 106: A new family member!

The moment Yue Yue shifted, he sensed it. His eyes snapped open instantly, sharp and alert, as if afraid it was just an illusion.

He froze when their eyes met.

Those gemstone-blue eyes were looking straight at him.

For a second, he could not breathe.

"Yue Yue..." he whispered.

Before she could even speak, he pulled her into his arms. His hold was tight, almost desperate, as if he was afraid she would vanish the moment he loosened his grip.

"Why didn’t you tell me earlier?" he said, his voice low and shaking. "I was so scared."

His arms tightened around her.

Yue Yue felt his fear clearly.

She slowly lifted her hand and patted his back gently, just like she always did when he was uneasy.

"Why are you saying that?" she said softly. "You left so suddenly. I never even got the chance to tell you."

She looked up at him, her tone calm but a little wronged.

"How would I tell you? I couldn’t even contact you when you were in the polluted zone."

Han Soi stiffened.

Guilt crashed into him at once.

She was right.

Once he entered the polluted zone, all communication was cut off. No messages. No calls. Nothing. Even if she wanted to reach him, it was impossible.

He clenched his fists slightly.

He had no excuse.

"I..." he started, then stopped.

The empire’s orders echoed in his mind. Back-to-back missions. Even he didn’t understand why there are suddenly so many new S-level polluted zones appearing. He had just returned from one mission, yet they sent him out again within days.

Even now, he didn’t understand why.

But he couldn’t say any of that to her.

Instead, he lowered his head and rested his forehead against hers. His voice softened.

"I’m sorry."

Yue Yue relaxed in his arms. She leaned into his chest, her fingers gripping his clothes lightly.

"It’s fine," she said quietly. "You came back."

Her voice softened even more, carrying a hint of spoiled dependence.

"That’s enough."

Han Soi’s heart ached.

He held her tighter, one hand gently supporting her back, the other resting protectively around her shoulders. They stayed like that, silent, sharing warmth, sharing breath.

No words were needed.

Yue Yue suddenly patted his chest, her chin lifting proudly.

"Why are you making such a sad face?" she said smugly. "If someone didn’t know better, they would think you’re unhappy after your son was born."

She frowned at him and pouted. "How could you be sad? I worked so hard, you know."

Then she pushed him lightly. "Go away. Don’t show me such a gloomy face."

Her expression turned dramatic. "What if my baby thinks his father doesn’t want him?"

Han Soi froze.

Stunned, he immediately panicked.

"No, no, that’s not it," he said clumsily, shaking his head. "How could I ever be sad about my child’s existence?"

He looked at her seriously, his voice low and honest. "I never even dreamed of having a child. You gave me something so precious that I was scared. I didn’t even know how to react."

Yue Yue stared at him for a second.

Then she smiled.

"Okay, okay," she said generously. "You don’t have to explain anymore."

Her eyes curved playfully. "Now you just have to reward me properly."

She pouted again. "After all, I worked so hard and gave birth to your heir."

Before he could respond, she suddenly wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to his lips.

When she pulled back, her cheeks were slightly warm.

"You," she said lazily, "massage my shoulders. I’m very tired."

Han Soi chuckled helplessly.

He moved closer and gently began massaging her shoulders, careful and slow. Yue Yue hummed happily, leaning into him. freeweɓnovel.cøm

"So good," she murmured. "So comfortable."

As he continued, he suddenly frowned slightly. "Does anything hurt? Anywhere?"

He looked at her seriously. "Tell me. I’ll call the doctor right now. Don’t just smile to comfort me."

Yue Yue shook her head. "Nothing hurts at all."

She smiled softly. "The egg was very small. It came out easily. The baby is very good. He didn’t make things difficult for Mommy."

Her gaze shifted to the incubator beside the bed. The soft light reflected in her eyes as she looked at it with pure affection.

Then she suddenly pulled Han Soi closer again.

"You brought it, right?" she asked. "How many days will it take to hatch?"

She started firing questions one after another, her eyes never leaving the cub inside.

"Do you think it’s a boy or a girl?"

Han Soi paused. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

"How would I know?" he said with a helpless smile. "But... it’s probably a boy."

He added gently, "Female births are very rare. And they’re never easy."

Yue Yue blinked.

Then she laughed proudly.

"I’m amazing," she said confidently. "I gave birth so easily."

With that, she threw herself into his arms.

Han Soi caught her instinctively and laughed softly, holding her close as warmth and quiet happiness filled the room.

He looked at her and finally sighed, a helpless smile forming on his face.

"Alright," he said softly. "Next time, before you push me away, just say it properly."

Yue Yue immediately straightened and spoke seriously, her hands gesturing wide.

"Go," she said firmly, "make me something to eat. I’m so hungry that I could eat a whole beast."

Her expression was exaggerated, but her stomach truly felt empty. All the anxiety, fear, and tension from giving birth had drained her completely. Now that everything had settled, hunger crashed over her like a wave.

"If I don’t eat a big meal right now," she added dramatically, "I might really pass out."

Han Soi chuckled.

He shook his head, amused, and stood up. "Wait here. I’ll be right back."

As he left, Yue Yue leaned back against the pillows. Her gaze naturally drifted to the incubator beside the bed.

The egg rested quietly inside, unmoving.

Yet she couldn’t look away.

Her expression softened, her eyes gentle and warm. Even without movement, she felt a strange closeness, as if her heart was tightly connected to that small life.

She reached out and placed her hand near the glass.

"I can stare at you all day," she murmured softly.
