Chapter 16: Violet

Here’s the corrected version:

"I’m not really in the mood to come back to this dungeon," William said as he stood at the entrance.

"Don’t be like that," Violet said. She leaned in close, her succulent chest clung tight to his hands. William looked down at her chest. He cleared his throat a bit.

"Violet, uhm, your chest," he said while trying his best not to look.

"Hmm? You don’t like it?" she asked in a low, seductive manner, a smile tugging at the edges of her lips.

"Please don’t act this way outside," he said and then pushed her off. His cheeks had turned red, and he was trying to hide it, but she knew. She let out a smile and then grabbed his hands and pulled him into the dungeon.

"I have a feeling that this dungeon is more than meets the eye," she said. She turned her head and looked at him. "My instincts are never wrong."

"Your instincts got us circled by more than twenty lizardmen a few months back," William said with a frown.

"But we ended up killing all of them, and we got a good payday, did we not?" she asked.

"Tch, I can’t argue with that," William said. "So are we heading after the treasures like everyone else?" he asked.

"No, I got my hands on a spell. It will help me connect to inanimate things, and if they have a soul, I can communicate with them," she said while moving.

"Wait, do you think there is a soul inside the dungeon, Violet?" he asked with his brow raised.

"Come on, don’t act like this is the craziest thing I have done."

"That is not as good a defense as you think," he said and folded his arms.

"Tch, fine, I’ll explain," she clicked her tongue and said, "everything that happened to us felt too out of the ordinary to be normal. Something must have controlled what happened, and I want to find out what it is.

I’ve not been able to get this out of my mind for days, so I have to do it." She said with resolute eyes. William knew how she got when she really wanted to do something, so he did not argue.

"Arghhh, fine, but if it doesn’t work, you owe me a good lunch. It’s already getting late, and I would really prefer to be in town eating," William said.

Violet led the way, and they went deeper into the dungeon, making it to the second floor and right back into the place they had been when they had first come here.

"Alright, I’ll do it here. Keep watch for me," she said.

He heaved a sigh and then walked to the entrance. He leaned his back against the wall and then watched her. She sat at the center and then pulled out a book from God knows where.

It was a grimoire, and inside was the spell that she would use. She flipped through the pages until she got there and then got ready to cast.

"Liam, this is your final chance to step back," Rock threatened. He gritted his teeth as he spoke, trying his best not to sound all too angry.

"I’m sorry, Rock. There is no way I’ll move now. It’s either you agree to what I have said, or you will have to fight me."

Rock looked at Mira and the mage, and they both looked away from him. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"Betrayals," he scoffed. The rage in him grew so much that if he was a kettle, he would be boiling at this point.

His sword lit ablaze with a beautiful orange flame, and then he charged ahead. He rushed in fast.

"Arghhhhhh!"

He swung down without holding back. The flames made a beautiful arc in the air. It came down on the shield Liam lifted and angled to block the attack.

BAM!

The shield trembled in his hands, but he managed to keep it steady even as the flames rushed in every direction. Then he pressed, pushing his shield forward and parrying the sword to the side. He charged at Rock and threw a punch.

Bam!

His fist collided with Rock and knocked him back.

Rock recovered fast and pulled his sword back. He thrust it with all he had.

"Die!"

The blade hit the shield, and the flames exploded out, blasting Liam and his shield back. He hit the floor and rolled until he came to a stop.

"Seems Rock is a lot stronger than Liam."

Kael analyzed as he watched.

"Still, Liam better win. I have my money on him."

Liam rose to his feet slowly. He picked up his shield and rushed at Rock.

"Arghhhhhhh!"

He slammed into Rock and began pushing him back while he hid behind the shield. He knew that if Rock got a clear chance, it would be over.

He slammed Rock against a wall and believed that would be the end of it, only for Rock to unleash a powerful burst of flames that threw Liam back against a wall.

"You thought you were as good as me? You are nothing but a shield. I am the strength of this team. I am the reason that we have grown so much.

There is no world where you defeat me, you worthless piece of shit that I helped!" Rock yelled in anger.

Kael watched the scene and frowned. He looked at Liam, who was on the ground.

"Get up, dude. You started the fight, so properly end this."

Liam stood and then looked at Rock.

"You have always underestimated me, Rock, and that will be your downfall."

Suddenly, the shield in his hand began glowing a bright blue color.
