Chapter 6: A Rocket in a Deserted Stream!
After dinner and a long shower, Luca Hale lay back against the soft hotel bed and casually opened his phone.
Without much hesitation, he transferred one hundred thousand dollars directly into his mother’s bank account.
As expected, less than thirty seconds later, his phone rang.
"Son!"
Mother Hale’s anxious voice immediately came through the speaker.
"Why did you suddenly transfer so much money to me? Where did you get all this?"
Although she trusted her son and knew he wouldn’t do anything illegal, the amount was simply too shocking.
Luca’s parents both came from farming backgrounds. They had worked hard their entire lives just to afford a modest three-bedroom apartment in the county town.
Even then, their life was already considered decent compared to many of their old neighbors, who still lived in self-built countryside homes because they couldn’t afford commercial housing at all.
One hundred thousand dollars was an unimaginable amount to ordinary people like them.
Truthfully, Mother Hale and Father Hale had never seen so much money in their lives.
Luca smiled helplessly.
"Mom, relax. Don’t you know your own son?"
After thinking for a moment, he smoothly made up an explanation.
"Actually, after graduation, I partnered with one of my classmates to invest in a small business while working. Recently, the business finally started making money, so everyone got a pretty good payout."
It was the safest excuse he could think of.
After all, there was no way he could explain the existence of the system. Even if he did, nobody would believe him.
Besides, technically speaking, owning San Fierro Commercial Street counted as doing business anyway.
On the other end of the call, Mother Hale finally let out a sigh of relief.
"My son can really earn money now..."
Her voice carried obvious pride.
"Then Mom will help you save it. We’ll keep it for when you get married in the future."
Luca instantly laughed.
"Mom, just spend it with Dad if you need anything. Once you run out, I’ll transfer more."
"How can we spend so much?" Mother Hale immediately rejected the idea.
"Your father and I are already old. We don’t need much money. Your younger sister still has college ahead of her, and that’ll cost a lot."
Luca knew very well how frugal his parents were.
After struggling for most of their lives, they had developed the habit of saving every possible cent. Trying to convince them to spend lavishly now was almost impossible.
So he could only agree helplessly.
The mother and son chatted for over half an hour before finally hanging up.
After the call ended, Luca stood quietly beside the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river.
The dazzling night lights reflected in his eyes as homesickness slowly rose in his chest.
"It’s already been almost a year since I went home..."
"I should visit in a few days."
After calming down a little, Luca lazily scrolled through short videos on his phone.
Then suddenly, a familiar face appeared on his screen.
Naomi Monroe.
The little streamer he met earlier today had posted her streaming schedule online.
Curious, Luca immediately downloaded Twist Streaming and created an account.
The moment he entered Naomi’s livestream, he was stunned.
The stream was practically deserted.
Only a dozen viewers floated around the room.
The streaming industry was brutally competitive these days. Pretty girls who could sing were everywhere, and compared to those streamers who relied on revealing outfits and provocative dances for attention, Naomi seemed completely out of place.
She could sing well.
Her looks and figure were top-tier too.
But she stubbornly refused to wear revealing clothes or act flirtatiously for views, making it incredibly difficult for her to attract traffic.
At that moment, Naomi sat in front of the camera with a forced smile, trying hard to maintain the atmosphere.
"Bosses who just entered the stream, please remember to click the follow button in the top right corner~"
"If anyone thinks Little Naomi sings okay, please send some gifts to support the streamer~"
But looking at the nearly frozen viewer count, Naomi felt increasingly helpless inside.
She had already been streaming for nearly two months.
Not only had she failed to make money, she had actually spent quite a bit buying equipment, decorations, lighting, and setting up her background wall.
And now rent was due again soon.
The pressure was becoming overwhelming.
Back in college, there had never been a shortage of wealthy young men pursuing her thanks to her appearance and figure.
Some had even openly offered to keep her as a sugar baby.
But Naomi had always refused.
Her family background might have been ordinary, but she still had her principles.
She didn’t want to lose the most precious things she had just because she lacked money.
The livestream comments slowly drifted across the screen.
"Poor little streamer... unfortunately I’m broke too, so I’ll just send some free flowers."
"My finances are okay, but I’m a proud freeloader. No one can change me."
"Hahaha, same here. We’re all freeloaders."
When Luca saw there were barely ten viewers in the room, he genuinely felt Naomi was a little pitiful.
At that moment, Naomi noticed the new account entering the stream.
"Welcome, ’Sober Tiger’~"
Her eyes brightened slightly.
"Boss Sober Tiger, could you click the follow button in the top right corner?"
Luca immediately clicked follow.
"Thank you for the follow, Boss Sober Tiger!"
Meanwhile, the chat suddenly became much more active.
"LMAO, is the streamer getting fished?"
"Hahaha, little streamer is too innocent."
"This streamer is honestly kinda cute. Followed."
"Hope she’s not another fake innocent-type streamer."
"The streamer sings really well actually. It’s just her dancing... uh... never mind."
"Dancing?"
Luca’s eyebrows lifted slightly.
So Naomi could dance too?
He immediately typed into the chat.
Sober Tiger: "Streamer, dance for me and I’ll send gifts."
Freeloader King: "Streamer, did you see that? Boss wants a dance."
Great Grandpa: "Run! The streamer’s about to expose her dance skills!"
Cooking While Cutting My Toenails: "Stop dreaming. Brand-new account, zero gifts, probably broke." ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Naomi also assumed the comment was just teasing her.
So she shook her head obediently.
"Boss Sober Tiger, Little Naomi would rather sing. My singing is actually pretty good."
Seeing that, Luca smiled faintly.
Then he directly recharged ten thousand dollars into the platform.
[Ding!]
[Host spent 10,000 Dollars.]
[4x cashback triggered. Reward: 40,000 Dollars.]
Forty thousand instantly returned to his account.
This money-making speed was honestly ridiculous.
Without hesitation, Luca immediately sent a Rocket gift worth fifty dollars.
A flashy Rocket animation exploded across the livestream screen.
At once, the entire chat became lively.
"Holy crap! Big boss!"
"My eyes were blind earlier!"
"Streamer, hurry and dance! Your rich supporter has arrived!"
Naomi’s heart began pounding rapidly.
After streaming for nearly two months, this was the first time she had ever received such an expensive gift.
The most valuable gift she had received before was a ten-dollar Plane gift.
But after sending only two Planes, that viewer had immediately started privately messaging her for contact information with obvious ulterior motives.
Although Naomi could be a little silly sometimes, she definitely wasn’t stupid.
Someone casually throwing Rockets on their first visit was obviously wealthy.
She didn’t know what Luca’s intentions were yet, but at the very least, she knew she needed to maintain a good relationship with this viewer called "Sober Tiger."
After hesitating briefly, Naomi finally nodded shyly toward the camera.
"Alright then... since Sober Tiger wants to see it..."
"Little Naomi will dance."
