Chapter 72: Think you can beat me?
Cormac held a staff in his hand; it was made of black wood, and the head ended in the shape of an open eye that held a single red jewel. It looks like an enchanted weapon, but that’s not true; it is an Heirloom.
"Kill me? You must be out of your mind!" He raised the weapon. "Do you know what it is that I hold? Not even you stand a chance against me, Liming Reginald!"
Liming stepped in front of the Bloodscion, his sword was dripping with green light. The floor around him was soaked with the same light. He frowned at the staff on Cormac’s hand before his widen. "Full power defense Zhilana! We have to get the Bloodscion out of here!"
Too late. The Heirloom shuddered to light with a scream, like the last sound of a terrible painful howl. Red light poured and flooded the arena, and the aura that came out of the weapon swallowed them whole. freёweɓnovel.com
Everyone turned and ran then.
Captain Zhilana covered the Bloodshield with her shield while inside, Liming was doing his form of defense, the green mana light that soaked the floor formed a circle around him and the Bloodscion.
"Liming...I don’t think I can remember well, but is that not the Heirloom, Eyes that Doom?" If the Bloodscion was afraid, she didn’t show it.
"Yes, your Majesty."
"An Heirloom of the Sentinels. Here is my Dominions," her face ripped, and anger shone through. "The Emperor has some explanation to give."
But not now; the energy coming from the Heirloom reached a new height, and then it crashed down. Angry red energy, concentrated and rolling with intense heat blasted out from the tip of it.
It boomed, its light flashing and turning all other colors inferior as the Inferno roared out.
Captain Zhilana smiled. "Shit on you rotten Cormac. You won this round."
Her shield didn’t stand a chance; they crumbled like wet papers, and the Captain herself melted away as the energy bolt continued, but of Liming and the Bloodscion, there was no sight. They already disappeared.
The bolt hit the stand and evaporated everything, continued, and claimed two more buildings outside before it stopped. Cormac staggered, because in front of him was a massive crater that stretched from him to outside, smoldering.
He knew the Heirloom was powerful but this! Cormac started to laugh. With this power, who dares stand in his way?
He should have known because just then, he felt something behind him, and he quickly conjured water around him as a shield. Good, because a sword covered in green light started to cut into his shield, collapsing it, but Cormac just continued to call for more water.
"I should have known you won’t die easily, Liming Reginald!" Cormac knew the Bloodline technique of the Reginald, and if he just continued to conjure more shield, then he should be alright for now while he wait for the Heirloom to power up again.
There are two problems with that. It takes a massive amount of mana to use the Heirloom, even though the Iridessa has tampered with this one to take mana from the environment. Only that one blast has stripped most of the mana in the air.
The second problem was that if you don’t finish a Reginald quickly and let the fight go on, then you will be at a disadvantage in the long run. Their bloodline technique is terrifying like that.
"You are a lowly beast Cormac!" Liming said water tainted with green light surrounding him. And with each strike on Cormac’s shield, he got more water on his side.
"It’s easy for you to say that, Liming! You’re like a loyal dog! You can’t see that the Pure Bloodline is sinking and they want to drown the rest of us with them! Join me, Liming, and you’ll get to see the glory of the Hydraeus rise once again!" ƒгeewebnovёl.com
Liming Reginald paused, eyes narrowed then he smiled. "You are right, I’m like a dog. And I have teeth." Then he gestured and the water around him broke, some shot forward, fast as light.
Cormac’s shield exploded but his Bloodline is as simple as it was terrifying. Cormac could conjure and control water, as much as he wanted. If he has the mana then he could drown the world.
He shot forward into the sky with a blast from his water, and they floated around him; he was held up by the continuous outpour of water. "You think you can beat me with the water you stole from me?"
The green-tinted water lifted Liming till the two of them were face to face. "Does it matter?" Liming released a quick sword slash that sent ripping energy at Cormac.
His water shield stopped but the fight was distracting Cormac from his main objective. The Bloodscion. And the weapon was taking forever to power up again. "Liming Reginald! Do you think I don’t factor you into my plans? I know you would be my major obstacle and I’ve made a technique just for you."
Cormac’s eyes glowed a deep blue. His aura mixed with the water that was surrounding him, and with a grunt, he sent half of the water he had been collecting at Liming.
Like a great wave, the water slammed into Liming; it rolled him into a massive ball of rolling water. That kept rolling as more and more water was being conjured and added. It was an endless loop; no matter how much he cut, he wouldn’t get away from the endless supply of rolling water.
"Well then, I can concentrate on that bitch." He raised Eyes that Doom and faced her but she wasn’t even paying attention to the threat in front of her.
Her head was tilted upward, in the direction of the main palace. Her eyes were glowing. "Cormac. What have you done."
Just then, a crack sounded so loud, like the splitting of mountains. The Bloodscion shuddered. "Stop playing around Liming. We’ve got a bigger problem."
The ball of water exploded in a shower of green light, and Liming jumped out; he slammed into Cormac and sent him flying.
