Chapter 60: What You Want?

Theodore’s deep sleep was interrupted by a knock on his apartment door; at first, he ignored the noise from his door, but finally, he couldn’t stand it anymore when he heard the knock, which had turned into a louder banging.

"Which bastard is bothering me this time"? Theodore growled in annoyance. He would make sure to scold whoever knocked on his apartment door this time.

With his hair in disarray and his nightgown on, Theodore opened the door to his apartment and was ready to hurl a string of expletives at whoever was on his doorstep this time.

"You knock on my door again, I’ll make sure to destroy-"

Theodore’s words stopped mid-air when he realized who had come to visit him. He immediately shut up and cleared his throat softly to reduce his embarrassment. Yes, this time, it was Victor and Christopher.

"Why are you here, captain?" Theodore thickened his face and immediately asked Victor a question.

"Weren’t you told to come to the barracks this afternoon? Why are you still at home at this time of night?" Victor glared at Theodore. He would have blown up this shameless young man’s house if he didn’t have the items Doctor Christopher needed.

"Ah, that’s right, Roderick told me. You know I’m exhausted. You guys don’t need to pick me up like this." Theodore then invited the two of them to enter his apartment. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Christopher quickly entered Theodore’s apartment and followed the young man’s lead, and he was apprehensive about Theodore’s research documents.

"Where are my research documents?" No longer able to contain himself, Christopher immediately asked where his documents were.

"My goodness, you are impatient, doctor." Theodore stopped and turned to look at Christopher, who seemed very agitated. "Wait in the living room with the captain; I’ll get your documents," Theodore continued, warning Christopher not to follow him further.

Inevitably, Christopher had to comply and turn around to wait with Victor in the living room of Theodore’s apartment.

Meanwhile, Theodore immediately rushed into his room and looked for the backpack he had used earlier. This time, he had to gather all the documents he had taken from the laboratory earlier and pile them into his bag.

"How can I forget about this matter!" Theodore frantically took out all the documents he had stored in his sacred dimension.

Fortunately, Theodore’s backpack was large enough to hold all the documents. The problem was that it became very heavy, so Theodore had to drag the backpack like a suitcase with both hands.

"You can carry this backpack here; I put all the documents here." Theodore pushed the backpack towards Christopher.

Christopher didn’t care anymore about what the two of them were talking about. He could only focus on checking all the documents in Theodore’s backpack. He wanted to make sure none of his documents were left in the laboratory.

"Are you just here to take the doctor here, captain?" Theodore was still curious about why Victor had also come here, and if Christopher wanted the documents, he could come here with other soldiers.

"Of course not. I still have business with you," Victor replied casually, preferring to glance around Theodore’s apartment.

"Then, what business do you have coming here looking for me?" Theodore was curious about Victor’s reason for coming to the house like this.

Asked like that, Victor, who initially looked relaxed, slowly turned his head towards Theodore with a dramatic gesture. He looked at Theodore with a grin on his lips.

Of course, Theodore, who was stared at like that, became alert and anxious. He racked his brain while thinking hard about why Victor was staring at him like that: "Does he suspect me because I’m dragging that backpack?" Theodore’s mind was not calm.

"You lied about your strength, right? There’s no way someone like you isn’t an awakened human," Victor said with a big smile. He was confident that Theodore had lied to the military about his strength.

"I did not lie. I am not an awakened human," Theodore replied casually. For a moment, he could catch his breath because Victor did not know his true strength.

Victor, leaning on the sofa, did not look happy with Theodore’s answer. He was very sure that he was hiding something, but the problem was that he did not know it.

Because Victor has seen with his two eyes that Theodore’s strength is greater than that of ordinary humans, even he can do something that other awakened humans cannot.

One of the reasons Victor came directly to visit Theodore was to find evidence that his suspicions were correct, but after he entered this apartment, he did not see anything suspicious.

Theodore was relaxed and answered his questions calmly. Victor continued to rack his brain to uncover the secret power that Theodore was hiding from the military.

"Damn! Just watch me unmask you! Tomorrow, come to the barracks team. We have a new assignment," Victor said. Then, he also turned to Christopher, who had been busy with his documents.

"Doctor, you can continue the examination at the barracks. Now we have to go back." Victor was fed up with Christopher’s obsession with his paperwork.

"Yes, you better go home. I still want to rest." Theodore tried to evict the two of them from his house gently.

Christopher, who had finally woken up, just nodded and turned to Victor, "Please carry the backpack for me. I can’t carry it."

The corner of Victor’s eye twitched when he heard Christopher order him, but he held back his anger and did what the doctor asked in silence.

When Victor tried to lift Theodore’s backpack full of documents, he could feel how heavy it was. He didn’t expect Theodore to fight with the giant zombie while carrying this backpack on his back.

This also increased Victor’s suspicion of Theodore, but for now, he would keep quiet and wait for the right moment to corner him.

Meanwhile, Theodore himself escorted his two uninvited guests to his doorstep and made a wry face so they would realize themselves to escape his presence immediately.

Fortunately, Victor only reminded him again to come to the barracks tomorrow, after which they both left, leaving Theodore alone.

"It’s hard to conceal my power from Victor; he must have realized something." Theodore sighed softly.

If they had another mission, Theodore would have had to be even more careful so that people wouldn’t realize his powers. It doesn’t matter if they know Theodore has powers. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

It was just that Theodore was afraid that it could reveal the existence of his sacred dimension, and he knew for sure that he would be hunted down if such power became public knowledge.
