Chapter 230: Settling Everything

The sound of gunfire continued to rain down on Theodore and the others, and the walls of the building they were using for shelter had started to develop holes here and there. Theodore glanced at his friends one by one to confirm their condition.

"We can’t keep hiding here. Sooner or later, the walls of this building will collapse if we continue to be shot at like this," Elizabeth said while slightly lowering her head and raising her hands to protect her head.

"What Elizabeth said is right. We can’t just stay here," Celia replied in agreement with Elizabeth’s words.

Theodore knew that they couldn’t stay still; like it or not, they had to leave the place immediately or else they would die from being bombarded by bullets by the people from The Enigma. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"Roxanne, you lead the way back home. I’ll follow behind you to deflect their bullets," Theodore finally made up his mind about what they were going to do.

"Everyone, follow me!" Roxanne faintly nodded her head and immediately turned around to lead the others out of the building.

With Roxanne leading the way, the others began to follow her while half lowering their bodies so as not to be hit by stray bullets from The Enigma.

Meanwhile, Theodore immediately opened his Area of Protection skill and was behind the ranks of their group. Theodore also took out his sword and began to deflect the bullets he could catch.

With Roxanne’s guidance they managed to get away from The Enigma’s territory, but the attacks on them had not stopped. People from the group began to follow them while continuing to shoot at them.

The Area of Protection skill had a limited duration, so Theodore couldn’t protect the others for much longer. When they were pressed, someone came to Roxanne and helped her to trick the members of The Enigma into not pursuing them further.

Although Roxanne was sceptical of the man’s words that suddenly came to her, she currently did not have much time and decided to follow the man. Roxanne’s priority at the moment was the safety of her group.

The man who suddenly came to Roxanne led them around and finally brought them into a building that was a little secluded because there were many ruins around the building.

Because of the help of the mysterious man, Theodore and the others were finally able to escape from the pursuit of people from The Enigma group. Even so, they could still hear gunshots out there; it seemed like they were still looking for their whereabouts.

"Roxanne, how did you find this place?" Theodore, who entered this building last, immediately looked for Roxanne.

It’s just that when Theodore turned around, he could see Luke’s figure among them. He was surprised to see the figure of his friend whom he had been looking for for several days.

"Luke? Are you the one who helped us to hide here?" Theodore immediately understood why they ended up hiding in this building.

"Yes, I saw you from a distance while observing The Enigma’s headquarters. So I decided to help you guys," Luke replied with a big smile on his face. He didn’t expect to see Theodore again.

"Thanks, man. You really saved us," Theodore replied, finally letting out a sigh of relief for a few moments.

Luke finally had time to look at the people who came with Theodore; among them, he only recognized Elizabeth. Luke also thought that the others were Theodore’s friends whom he met when he was in City A.

"You should get out of here. They might find out that you’re hiding in this place," Luke said later. "If you want, you can join the group I made with my other friends," Luke continued.

"You mean Shawn and Nicholas are still alive too?" Theodore was happy when he heard Luke’s words.

Luke nodded his head, "I and they decided to make a group when these people from The Enigma started rioting in the city," Luke explained later.

"Then you guys can join us; you don’t mind, right?" This time, it was Elizabeth who spoke while glancing at Theodore. freёweɓnovel.com

"Elizabeth is right. Why don’t we combine our groups, our headquarters is at my house. You and the others can come to my house, or else I can help you guys make a base near my house," Theodore said, then thought it was a good idea if they could join forces.

"Good idea. We need more people to overcome the dominance of that damn The Enigma." Luke agreed to join and helped Theodore and the others to return to Theodore’s house.

After that, they rushed out of the building through a secret passage and moved to Theodore’s house, which was quite far from the area.

Fortunately, Luke’s group was not far from Luke’s neighbourhood. The next morning, Luke’s group was already in the spacious courtyard of Theodore’s house.

Theodore also saw his two other friends, who luckily survived the apocalypse that hit the world. With that, they decided to check the two different buildings on the right and left of Theodore’s house.

The two buildings did have sides of the house that were destroyed and falling apart, but they could still be repaired. Finally, they decided to rebuild the two houses and make them the new headquarters of their group.

. . .

"The number of zombies roaming the city is starting to increase. It looks like we need to be prepared at the fence to eradicate them," Nicholas said in the open space in the backyard of their group’s main base.

"Yes, we need to prepare for the zombies’ arrival. But, we need to be on the lookout for the Enigma’s people acting up as well," Theodore replied, reminding the others of The Enigma.

"Don’t worry, my troops and I will monitor the movements of those bastards." Luke also spoke while raising his fist to Shawn, who was sitting casually next to him.

"Then we can easily overcome this attack." Theodore nodded his head in satisfaction. The shelter he had made with his friends was already starting to stabilize.

They were no longer afraid of the zombie wave that could happen at any time. Theodore also started to make land in his yard to develop their own food supply.

Theodore knew they had to be careful when doing this outside the sacred dimension because the plant seeds could evolve, and the evolved seeds had to be destroyed immediately.

With the help of Luke’s group, Theodore had no shortage of people to guard their small-scale base. Theodore also hopes that their sanctuary can continue to stabilize and save more people.
