Chapter 194: Have To Wait
Geoffrey, who was focusing on shooting the zombies around their car, was so shocked that he almost cursed his sister when he felt her pulling his legs out from under him.
"What are you doing?!" Geoffrey frowned unhappily as he looked at Roxanne, who was next to him.
Roxanne also shrugged her shoulders in ignorance, and she shrugged her shoulders at Theodore; she was just doing what Theodore told her.
"Look at that branch, you’ll die if you hit it." Theodore pointed at the tree branch that crossed quite low in front of them.
The car quickly passed the tree branch and Geoffrey felt goosebumps run down his body as they passed the tree branch, if Roxanne didn’t pull him then he would definitely get stuck on the tree branch and become a meal for the zombies.
"How can there be a tree branch that low? If you hadn’t warned me, Geoffrey really could have died," said Roxanne, also feeling her body crawl as she realized that her little brother’s fate could have been terrible if Theodore hadn’t warned her.
"The situation in this forest feels more and more dangerous, I don’t know what else we will encounter when we go deeper," explained Theodore, also not knowing what exactly happened in this forest.
One thing for sure, Theodore could see that he felt the aura of this forest getting more and more tense as they walked deeper. Somehow, Theodore felt there was something strange in this forest.
Upon hearing Theodore’s explanation, Geoffrey quickly picked up his tablet to find out more about this forest.
"You know that the route out of this forest is very long. It will be difficult for us to get out of this place quickly," Geoffrey said while looking at the tablet in his hand.
"Yes, be prepared for the worst. We don’t know what exactly awaits us in this forest," Theodore replied, nodding his head.
Theodore did not expect that their journey this time would go smoothly, especially when he saw this forest firsthand. It’s just that Theodore also didn’t expect that they would be intercepted by a large force here.
Inevitably, they had to prepare for the worst to happen; Theodore had often been caught in bad situations, so he was used to always being prepared for the worst to happen to them this time as well.
"Do you think these zombies have a leader?" After hearing Theodore’s words, Roxanne thought that he was asking her to be prepared because they would be fighting a strong enemy.
"It will most likely be like that. But, just pray that we won’t have to fight with him." Theodore shrugged his shoulders in disbelief.
"I think we’ll lose if we have to fight a strong enemy, considering that there are only three of us," Geoffrey grimaced as he thought of which other strange zombies they might have to fight.
"Since it’s quite dangerous to hunt zombies now, it’s better for you to sleep now and replace me later," said Theodore then reminded the two of them to sleep.
Honestly, Theodore wouldn’t be able to drive all day without rest; not only that, it would be hazardous if he continued to drive without sleep. Moreover, the conditions of this forest were dangerous and required high focus to pass through.
"Wake me up if you’re already sleepy, I’ll replace you immediately." Roxanne patted Theodore’s shoulder lightly before deciding to sleep again.
Meanwhile, Geoffrey immediately moved to the front seat next to Theodore and obeyed her words to sleep immediately.
On that cold and tense night Theodore also drove his car silently and alone, accompanied only by strange zombies that continued to chase his car.
. . .
Around 4 am, Roxanne woke up, and she glanced at Theodore, who looked exhausted; she slowly called him and asked if he wanted her to replace him.
"Hey, you must be tired, let me replace you." Roxanne’s voice sounded hoarse because she had just woken up.
"You happen to be awake. I’ll pull the car over," Theodore replied, then slowed down the car and chose to pull over.
"Is it okay to pull over like this? What if the zombies surround us?" Roxanne was already panicking when she heard Theodore pull over.
"They’ll be gone by the time the sun comes up," Theodore replied quietly, just to be sure he even glanced briefly at the rearview mirror outside.
Roxanne, who had just woken up, immediately looked around and sure enough, there were no more horrible zombies chasing them. Roxanne also turned to Theodore in disbelief, how could the zombies suddenly disappear just like this.
"I don’t know what happened either." Theodore could guess what Roxanne was going to tell him just by looking at her confused face. frёewebηovel.cѳm
"Ahh, I see," Roxanne replied with a stiff smile, then she quickly took Theodore’s place and let him rest.
The passenger seats in the back had been changed so that they could sleep comfortably, so Theodore could go straight to bed and rest. But before Theodore actually slept, he took out some food and snacks for Roxanne and Geoffrey later.
"Eat this with Geoffrey while I sleep. Don’t hesitate to wake me up if something wrong happens," Theodore said as he handed Roxanne the basket of food.
"Take it easy, you don’t have to worry. I’m sure nothing bad will happen on a morning like this, so you can rest in peace." Roxanne smiled brightly to assure Theodore that he had nothing to worry about.
"Oh yes, this is the magic scroll. Use it again at 6 o’clock, I’ll give you 3 magic scrolls just in case." Theodore took out his magic scroll and gave it to Roxanne.
Theodore didn’t know how long he would be asleep, so it was better to give the magic scrolls to Roxanne first, just in case.
After Theodore made sure that he had given Roxanne everything they needed, he lay down and began to fall asleep in no time because he was already tired.
Seeing Theodore, who immediately fell asleep, Roxanne quickly woke up Geoffrey, who was still fast asleep next to her. Roxanne also hit Geoffrey lightly until he woke up completely. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
"Why did you hit me?!" Geoffrey, whose deep sleep was disturbed, immediately turned his head to the side and glared at whoever dared to wake him up.
Roxanne glared back and hit Geoffrey lightly on the head, "Come with me, it’s time for us to work," Roxanne said as she began to drive the car on the right track.
Geoffrey, who was still dazed, looked back and saw Theodore already asleep in the back.
"Apparently it’s time to take turns with brother Theo. Are you sure you can avoid the zombies the way Theo did?" Geoffrey looked at Roxanne with doubt.
Because Geoffrey had always sat in the front he could see how Theodore’s driving skills were, and because of that, they were able to escape from the zombies quite easily.
And now, when Roxanne took the wheel of the car, Geoffrey felt a little doubtful about his sister’s driving skills.
"There are no zombies so we can relax," Roxanne replied casually.
"What?! No way!" Geoffrey was shocked when he heard Roxanne’s casual remark, he immediately looked around and sure enough he found no zombies there.
