Chapter 162: Huge Incident
On their way home this time Theodore rode with Neville, Chelsea and Cassian. While the truck carrying the goods was driven by Madeline’s men, although initially Cassian insisted on driving the truck, but Madeline was the one in charge there.
So now the four of them are in one car. Their journey was fine at first, but over time there were more zombies on the road. It wasn’t what they were used to seeing this time and Theodore had even looked for a safe road several times.
But every time Theodore took a detour, he would still find a large wave of zombies filling the streets. Theodore didn’t know where these zombies actually came from, because previously there were not this many zombies in this city.
Until Theodore decided to find a place for them to rest, he needed to discuss this with Madeline and the others.
"Are there usually a lot of zombies like this?" Cassian, who had been trapped in the warehouse for almost a week was quite surprised when he saw the streets they passed through this time.
"Actually, no. I don’t know why there are so many zombies on the streets right now either," Theodore replied while shaking his head.
"It’s going to be hard for us to keep avoiding these zombies. Somehow I feel like there are more and more of them from time to time." Now it was Chelsea who spoke.
"Yeah, I already gave Madeline the code that we’ll stop once we find a safe place." Since Theodore and Madeline had been riding together for these few days, they already had the code if one of them intended to take a break.
To find a safe place, Theodore once again asked Neville to help them find a safe place to hide from the zombies that seemed to be going crazy. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Luckily Neville had marked the places where they could spend the night safely. So when Theodore told him to find a safe place, he already knew where to take the group.
"Around this area there’s a bank that’s heavily guarded, I think we can go there. The zombies definitely won’t be able to get in there," Neville replied as he told Theodore what he knew.
"That’s fine, we’d better take a look first. If we can’t get inside, then we’ll find another place," Theodore replied, deciding to take a look at the bank Neville had told him about first.
"Alright, I’ll guide you there." Neville nodded his head in understanding.
Theodore had already given the code to Madeline who was following him from behind along with the truck that was at the very back of their group. With Neville’s help, Theodore drove his car to the bank Neville recommended.
And as Theodore had said before, there were many zombies roaming the streets around the bank. Theodore and Cassian got out of the car to clean up the zombies.
If they hadn’t done that, they wouldn’t have been able to get into the bank. Theodore realized that the bank recommended by Neville was very large, it seemed like he could say that this bank was the headquarters of one of the big banks in City A.
Finally, Madeline got out of her car and started helping Theodore and Cassian. Not only that, Madeline also asked why they went to this place.
"What are we doing here?" Madeline said to Theodore while firing her firearm at the zombies that filled the streets near the bank.
"Don’t you realize that there are more zombies on the streets? I find this situation quite strange, it’s better for us to hide for now until the situation outside is more conducive," Theodore explained to Madeline while still swinging his sword to behead the zombies.
"I do realize that. But the problem is that a place like this bank has special security and not just anyone can get in there," Madeline replied while frowning in confusion as to why Theodore chose this place.
"Can your men try to get inside that bank? Neville said this is the closest safe place to us right now." Theodore explained why he came to this place.
"That boy is troublesome," Madeline said while rolling her eyes lazily.
After that, Madeline went back to her car to call one of her men who was smart about break-ins and technology. Madeline knew that her men could easily break into the bank’s system.
"I need you to break into the bank’s security, we’re going to take refuge inside the bank. So you have to be able to break into it," Madeline said directly ordering her men.
"Take it easy boss. There’s nothing I can’t break," the man replied with a smug laugh.
With the protection provided by Theodore, Cassian, and Madeline, the man did not have to worry about his safety. The only thing that made him quite worried was the fact that they did not know the situation inside the bank.
"Boss, I’ve opened this bank and you can park all the cars we brought in the basement of this building. It’s just that I need someone to help me here."
Upon hearing that Theodore said to Madeline, "Go help your men, I’ll guard the outside with Cassian.
"Alright." Madeline moved closer to his men to see what was happening to him.
"What do you need?"
"To open the way to the basement we need to get inside his office. It’s just that we don’t know what’s inside, so I need your help."
"That’s it. You open the door and I’ll go inside, then follow me inside, get it?" Madeline loaded new bullets into her firearm, ready for another battle with the zombies.
After making sure that her men understood, she opened the bank’s door and Madeline quickly slipped into the bank, after which the man followed Madeline behind with his weapon at the ready.
The situation inside the bank was very messy, it seemed that because the zombie outbreak occurred in the middle of the night, the bank was not too crowded, so they could only see about 5 zombies there who seemed to be the security guarding this building.
Madeline and her men quickly cleaned up the zombies that were there. After making sure that there were no more zombies there, Madeline’s men immediately went looking for the control center inside the office.
After finding it he immediately fiddled with it and Madeline stood there looking at it while keeping watch in case a zombie suddenly appeared there.
It took a while for the man to open the door that led to the basement. Until finally from outside came the sound of creaking metal, which they assumed that the way to the basement was open.
"Looks like it’s open. We can go back outside to help the others get into the basement." After finishing his work, the man immediately invited Madeline to come out.
"Yes. Is the basement connected to this place?" Madeline asked curiously.
"Of course."
"Then can you lock this place again, so we will all enter through the underground," Madeline then explained.
"No problem, I’ll do it." The man nodded his head in understanding of what Madeline wanted.
After that, their group began to inform the people who were driving their cars to enter the basement. Meanwhile, the people who were already outside decided to stay outside.
That way they could kill the zombies that might be in the basement.
