Chapter 106: Searching Till The End
Escaping from zombies that already had the ability to run was quite troublesome. Theodore used to not need skills like Sprint to play hide-and-seek with these zombies, but now, with his Sprint skill, it was difficult to escape from them.
Because he couldn’t escape from the zombies, Theodore decided to run around that one floor while seeing if he could find an oxygen tank. Of course, the zombies were chasing him madly behind him.
"System! This time, I really need your help! Otherwise, I’ll be killed by that bunch of zombies!" Theodore communicated with the System with bated breath.
[What can the System do for the Host?]
"Scan this entire floor and see if there are any oxygen cylinders here. If there aren’t any on this floor, try to scan the entire building!" Theodore quickly ordered the System to perform the search for him.
Theodore could not see clearly in this situation, not only because he was being chased by zombies but also because there was little light in the building, and most of what he could see was darkness.
This was the risk Theodore had to take when he decided to climb up to this floor alone, as no one would be there to help him illuminate the surrounding area.
There was no way Theodore could find the oxygen tank when he was being chased by these bastard zombies. Even though Theodore had run as far as he could, the zombies still didn’t give up pursuing him.
You can imagine what would have happened to them earlier if Cassian hadn’t made a protective wall in the elevator. They would have chased them all the way to the lower floors,
And as Theodore focused on saving himself, he again saw purple smoke rising behind him.
"Damn! It turns out this toxic smoke is indeed from them!" Theodore glanced behind him and actually saw the purple smoke in the air.
Theodore again received a series of notifications from the System about the poison entering his body. Actually, Theodore also did not know that the System could neutralize the poison that entered his body.
It’s just that Theodore was quite worried about the System’s tolerance level. He didn’t intend to test the upper limit of the System, so he again used his Wind Slash skill to hit back the zombies near him.
The zombies that flew back also hit the zombies behind him, so Theodore had time to increase his distance from the zombies.
Seeing that opportunity, Theodore stepped toward a row of dark shelves to hide from the zombies. He couldn’t calm down when he was chased by zombies like this.
Especially considering that these zombies could use special powers like humans who had awakened, Theodore didn’t want to keep testing his luck. There must be times when he was unlucky, and he might die because of it.
Fortunately, this time, Theodore was able to separate himself from the pursuit of the zombies. The zombies who lost their figures ran away to chase Theodore.
After Theodore assessed the situation was safe for him, he called System again to ask for the results of the orders he had said earlier.
"System, have you found what I ordered earlier?" Theodore was highly anticipating the answer that System would give him.
It took a while for Theodore to get an answer from System, and unfortunately, it was an answer that he did not expect at all. freewebnovёl.ƈom
[The System could not find the oxygen cylinder the Host referred to on this floor. The Host must go up to the third floor to see it]
Theodore’s face immediately turned dark when he heard the answer from the System. After he had painstakingly released himself from the pursuit of the zombies, he now had to go up two floors to find the oxygen cylinder.
"Oh my! I finally feel this familiar sensation called misfortune again," Theodore said, sighing tiredly. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Although Theodore did not dare think about the situation on the two floors above him, he was sure that it was more or less the same as what he had faced on this first floor. Even so, Theodore still had to go to the third floor to find the oxygen cylinder he needed.
Before going up to the third floor, Theodore waited until the cooldown of his Area of Protection and Sprint skills. That way, he could immediately skip the second floor and head to the third floor.
"System, can you tell me where the location of the oxygen cylinder is for sure? That way, it will be easier for me to take it when I get to the third floor." Theodore asked the System to give him the location of the oxygen tank.
[The System will process it immediately]
"Thank you, System. I can only rely on your help right now," Theodore said as he stood up.
Now, Theodore was ready to travel to the third floor. While waiting for the System to give him the minimap, he walked sneakily towards the elevator that would take him to the second floor.
The zombies that had previously been chasing Theodore were nowhere to be found, so he could calmly walk towards the elevator to the second floor. Theodore was in no hurry, as he wanted to see what the conditions were like on the second floor.
Because Theodore’s arrival didn’t make much noise, he could see the zombies up there shuffling around without direction. Theodore thought that they had not found his current whereabouts.
Theodore took the opportunity to look for the elevator to the third floor from a distance. That way, he could immediately run there without having to provoke more zombies to chase him.
Like most malls, the elevator to the third floor was on the opposite side of the elevator Theodore was currently on. It took quite some time for Theodore to run to the other side, especially considering that one floor of this building was huge.
Theodore was still determining if he would attract much attention from the zombies. At that moment, Theodore heard a notification from the System saying that the requested minimap feature could already be used.
Theodore automatically directed his attention to the location of the oxygen tank he was looking for. Fortunately, he did not need to turn around because the tube was located near the elevator on the second floor.
With that, Theodore officially started his mission to find the oxygen cylinder.
Immediately after that, Theodore activated his Sprint skill and ran as fast as he could towards the elevator on the other side.
Slowly, the zombies, realizing the strange movement around them, began to focus their attention on Theodore, who moved very quickly. They began to see where Theodore was and began to chase him closely.
