Chapter 98: A Girl
Sitting at the kitchen island, Cobra glares at Liam, the tension palpable in the air.
The kitchen, bathed in the soft morning light filtering through the large windows, is usually a place of comfort.
Today, it feels like a stage for a confrontation. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
The aroma of fresh coffee fills the room, but it does little to ease the atmosphere.
"Blondie, what do you want to eat?" Liam’s voice is edged with cheerfulness.
Cobra’s muscular frame, clad in a tight black T-shirt, contrasts with Liam’s more relaxed, casual attire.
Anastasia glanced at Cobra to make sure he was calm enough before speaking.
Cobra side glared at Liam, finding the name ’ blondie’ so annoying especially coming from Liam, before looking at Anastasia with loving eyes "My love, this thing here has another surprise for you."
This thing?
Did Cobra just call Liam a thing?
She glanced at Liam, only to find him smiling nervously not minding being called a thing.
Anastasia hums thoughtfully and looks at Liam "Really? What is it? I am all ears."
Liam licks his lips nervously, his eyes darting between Anastasia and Cobra, and rubs the back of his neck. "Well... you know when two people sometimes have sex and stuff..."
Anastasia looks at him, confused, while Cobra is weirded out by the awkward explanation.
"So, like, sometimes things happen after. Yeah, it did happen," Liam says, his voice trailing off as he glances at the floor.
Cobra, angered by the cryptic statements, looks at Liam. "It wants to say it’s pregnant."
’Did he just refer to Liam as ’it’ Anastasia wonders silently.
The room grows quieter, the only sound the faint hum of the refrigerator.
Liam chuckles nervously. "Yeah, I want to say I’m pregnant."
Anastasia looks at him quietly for a second, processing the information. "You didn’t know that?"
Liam looks at her in shock. "What? You knew?"
"Yes, from the first week, but I didn’t tell you because I thought you knew but didn’t want to tell me, I was afraid you’d be scared because of, you know..." She trails off, staring at the floor in guilt.
Memories of past fears and uncertainties flicker across her mind.
Cobra looks at her, and held her hand. "My love, Liam has already forgiven you. Stop thinking about it. You are happy to be a mom again."
Anastasia nods and glances at Liam, who grins at her.
He walks over, holding her other hand in his. "Blondie is right. Can we agree to just forget the past and move on? I don’t want to keep remembering it every time. I have decided to leave all that behind and start anew. Let’s do that together, Anastasia."
Cobra stares at their hands and gulps before looking away, clenching his free fist, trying to honor the agreement he made with Liam. He heard the kiss sound.
They are kissing, he thinks, holding his hand tighter but relaxing when a heavy hand is placed on his shoulder.
He turns. "What, Blondie? No congratulations? A hug, maybe?" Liam smiles, trying to lighten the mood.
Cobra side-eyes him and hisses, "Dream on, you freak." Liam chuckles.
Even though Cobra calls him a freak, it just sounds funny for some reason.
In his mind, somehow, every single insult Cobra says sounds like a compliment or something amusing.
Anastasia looks at Liam, finding his reaction to being called a freak odd.
"Congrats, my love," Cobra looked at Anastasia and spoke with a loving grin on his face.
She smiles and wraps him in a hug, kissing his forehead as he purrs into her neck and closes his eyes.
"Oh my goddess, Blondie is adorable. He’s purring like a cat. I have always wanted to raise a cat," Ana chuckles.
Cobra opens his eyes and glares at Liam with angry, glowing red eyes while still pushing his face into Ana’s neck.
His purrs turn into deep growls.
Liam smiles sheepishly. "You want pancakes? I’ll make you pancakes." He rushes to the kitchen to avoid Cobra’s glares.
As Liam busies himself at the stove, the smell of the pancakes fills the room.
Anastasia watches him with a soft smile, her heart swelling with affection for both men.
__________
A week later, in Cobra’s pack, Liam found themselves in Cobra’s office with Liam.
The room is spacious and elegantly decorated, with large windows allowing the midday sun to pour in.
Dark wooden shelves filled with books and artifacts line the walls, and a large oak desk stands in the center, cluttered with papers and a sleek laptop.
Cobra sits behind his desk, exuding an air of authority and power.
He’s dressed in a fitted black suit that highlights his muscular build, the sharp lines of his outfit contrasting with his rugged demeanor.
His tie is a deep red, matching the glow of his intense eyes when he’s annoyed.
His blond hair is slicked back, giving him a polished yet menacing look.
Liam, on the other hand, is a picture of casual elegance.
He’s wearing a light gray blazer over a simple white t-shirt, paired with dark jeans and sneakers.
His dark hair is tousled, adding to his carefree vibe, and he has an easy smile that contrasts sharply with Cobra’s stern expression.
He roams around the office, unable to sit still.
"Damn, you are rich," Liam commented while looking around the office "So, like, you wanna give me a tour around? Your pack is huge,"
Liam speaks, his curiosity evident as he wanders around Cobra’s office, touching the spines of books and fiddling with trinkets.
He plays with Cobra’s hair, deliberately trying to annoy Cobra.
"Sit down or leave," Cobra growls, not looking up from his work.
His patience is wearing thin as he focuses on the documents in front of him.
This was all Liam’s idea to hang out together and Cobra said no but when Anastasia asked him to, he agreed.
Liam shakes his head and keeps roaming around, now examining a particularly old and dusty book.
"Did you know that tomatoes are a fruit? I always thought they were a vegetable," he hums, sounding serious but completely out of place in the context of Cobra’s office.
Cobra smacks his forehead on his desk in frustration, finally looking up to glare at Liam. "I don’t have time for your nonsense," he mutters, his eyes flashing with irritation.
__________
Two weeks later, Liam, who is now a month pregnant, was lounging in Anastasia’s room, comfortably sprawled on her bed.
The room was filled with a cozy ambiance, soft light filtering through the curtains, and the faint scent of lavender lingering in the
air.
"Where is Cobra, Liam?" Anastasia asked as she entered, her curiosity piqued.
Liam sighed, extending his arms for Anastasia to smile and enter into his embrace, making sure to be gentle with his belly.
"He is still in that room doing God knows what. He has been doing something there for the past two weeks."
Anastasia hummed thoughtfully as she settled beside him. "You’re right. I don’t know what he is doing exactly there. I asked, but he refused to tell me. Caleb said he saw Cobra bringing big black bags to the room and locking it after going in."
Liam raised an eyebrow. "You think he is secretly jerking off alone?" He asked seriously, but Ana smacked his chest lightly, making him groan. "Shut up, Liam."
"What? Don’t act all shy now. I had your cock up my ass." Anastasia quickly covered his mouth with her hand, but he freed it and continued, "And in my mouth."
"Shut up, Liam," Ana chuckled, her face reddening with embarrassment.
Just then, a sudden knock interrupted them, and Cobra walked in, looking at them quietly. "Sorry, I didn’t know you guys are..."
"Don’t apologize. You can join, blondie," Liam said, waggling his brows in a very perverted way.
Anastasia looked at Liam in surprise, but Cobra merely side-glanced at him. "No, thank you, you freaky bitch."
"Your freaky bitch," Liam replied with a grin.
Anastasia widened her eyes and snorted while Cobra sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation.
"By the way, blondie, what are you doing in that room?" Liam asked.
"None of your business, omega," Cobra shot back.
"Kinky. You like calling your partner by their rank?" Liam teased, but Cobra glared at him in shock before leaving the room and slamming the door angrily.
Anastasia chuckled but then held it back, masking it with a serious face, as she tried to be the mature person. "Liam, he is mad now."
She kissed him, still chuckling, and then ran after Cobra.
"Cobra, wait." Cobra stopped, and she rushed to hug him. "Liam is just joking.
Please don’t get mad at him. He is pregnant."
"I know. He just gets on my nerves sometimes. I won’t hurt him if that’s what you are worried about. He carries your baby."
Anastasia felt a bit worried. Does that mean he would try to kill him after the baby is born or what?
__________
A month later, Liam is two months pregnant.
In Anastasia’s room, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on the soft, comfortable furnishings.
Liam sat on the bed, Anastasia gently touching his stomach.
His eyes widened for a brief moment before a wide smile spread across his face when she said. "It’s a girl."
His excitement was contagious. "It’s a girl," he repeated, almost in disbelief.
Anastasia, standing nearby, nodded with a knowing smile. "You will be so surprised when she is born. So, so surprised."
"Why?" Liam asked, curiosity piqued.
"I won’t tell you," Anastasia replied with a mischievous grin, leaving Liam even more intrigued.
Just then, Caleb entered the room to call the alpha.
Anastasia kissed Liam on the cheek, her affection and excitement clear, and did the same to Cobra before rushing out of the room.
Cobra, who had been standing in the doorway, glanced at Liam and noticed his beaming smile and the way he was stroking his belly. "Congrats, I guess," he muttered, his tone begrudgingly sincere.
Liam’s smile grew even wider, and he opened his arms, inviting Cobra for a hug.
But Cobra, ever cautious and wary, backed away.
He lifted his dagger, which he inexplicably kept at his waist at all times, and held it close to Liam’s neck.
"Listen here, you freak. Just because I didn’t kill you since you’re pregnant with my love’s child doesn’t mean you can piss me off or that we’re friends."
Liam looked at the dagger, then back at Cobra, who seemed genuinely angry and serious.
But instead of fear, a smirk played on Liam’s lips. "You are into knife play."
Cobra’s expression shifted to one of shock, and without another word, he turned and ran out of the room, leaving a giggly Liam behind.
Liam leaned back, still chuckling, his hands gently resting on his belly.
The room was filled with a sense of quiet joy and anticipation, even as the tension with Cobra lingered in the air.
