Chapter 91: It’s Cobra
Anastasia and Liam descended the stairs together, their smiles radiant as they entered the welcoming embrace of their family.
Elisabeth was the first to spot Liam, her face lighting up with joy as she rushed forward to greet him.
"Liam! You’re back!" Elisabeth exclaimed, enveloping him in a warm hug.
Elisabeth has always been nice to him but since she knew he was her daughter’s mate, she started to treat him extra nicely.
He is very grateful for this.
Liam returned the hug, feeling the love and warmth of his family surrounding him. "It’s good to be back," he replied, his voice filled with genuine happiness.
Anastasia beamed at him, her eyes shining with excitement. "Everyone missed you so much, Liam!"
Liam grinned at his mate, feeling a rush of affection for her. "I’ve missed you too, Anastasia," he said, giving her a quick hug before turning to greet the rest of the family.
Spotting Alex, Liam’s eyes lit up, and he knelt down to his level. "Hey there, buddy! How’s school been treating you?" he asked with a playful grin.
Alex’s face lit up with delight as he launched himself into Liam’s arms. " Liam! School’s been great! I made a new friend and we played soccer!" he exclaimed excitedly.
Liam laughed, hugging Alex tightly. "That’s awesome, champ! I’m glad to hear it."
As Liam made his rounds, exchanging hugs and catching up with each member of the family, Xavier approached him with a smile. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"Liam, you’re here!" he exclaimed, his eyes bright with happiness.
Liam nodded, returning Xavier’s smile. "I am, and I have you to thank for it," he said, his tone sincere.
Xavier’s smile widened, his pride evident in his expression. "I’m glad my advice helped. Welcome back here, Liam."

-Flash Back:
In the dimly lit room, Xavier sat across from Liam, his expression serious yet compassionate.
He leaned forward, his voice gentle but firm.
"Liam, I know you’re scared. But running away won’t make that fear disappear. If anything, it’ll just grow stronger. Sometimes, the only way to conquer our fears is to face them head-on."
Liam shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his gaze fixed on the floor. "But what if I can’t? What if it’s too late?"
Xavier reached out, placing a reassuring hand on his brother’s shoulder.
"It’s never too late, Liam. Anastasia has changed. She’s doing everything she can to make things right, to make things work between you two. She’s doing it for you."
Liam sighed, his shoulders slumping with defeat. "I just don’t know if I can do it. I’m not happy without her, but I’m afraid to go back."
Xavier nodded understandingly, his eyes filled with empathy. "I get it, Liam. But sometimes, taking that leap of faith is the only way to find true happiness. Give her a chance, give your relationship a chance. You might just find that it’s worth it."
Liam fell silent, mulling over Xavier’s words. Finally, he nodded, a sense of determination settling over him.
"I don’t know. But... please, give her this," he said, handing Xavier a small wrapped package.
Xavier smiled knowingly, accepting the gift. "I will, Liam. I promise."
With a nod of gratitude, Liam watched as Xavier left the room with Willow, his mind buzzing with thoughts of what could be if he faced his fears and gave Anastasia another chance.
-Flash Back’s end:
_____
In her office, Anastasia was engrossed in her work when Liam entered with a bright smile, placing a freshly squeezed orange juice on her desk.
Her tired, focused expression immediately softened as she looked up and greeted him with a warm "Good morning."
"Good morning, Anastasia," Liam said cheerfully, his eyes sparkling with affection as he leaned against her desk.
"I brought you some orange juice. Thought you might need a little refreshment."
Anastasia’s tired eyes lit up at the sight of the juice. "Thank you, Liam. That’s so thoughtful of you," she replied, a small smile playing on her lips.
" Do you mind some extra help?" Liam offered his help, and Anastasia gratefully accepted.
"Actually, that would be great," she said, gesturing to the stack of papers on her desk. "I could use an extra pair of hands."
As they worked side by side, Liam couldn’t help but notice the exhaustion etched on her face.
Determined to lift her spirits, he began to playfully annoy her, planting kisses all over her face in an attempt to distract her from work for a moment.
Anastasia giggled and swatted at him half-heartedly, trying to maintain her focus.
"Liam, stop it," she protested, though her lips curved into a smile despite herself.
But Liam persisted, his kisses growing more playful and persistent.
"Come on, Anastasia, take a break," he teased, his voice laced with affection. "You’ve been working too hard. Let’s have a little fun."
Their laughter filled the room, momentarily pushing aside the stress and exhaustion of the day.
For a brief moment, all that mattered was the joy of being together.
Anastasia’s laughter was infectious as Liam continued to shower her with playful kisses, his antics successfully distracting her from the pile of work on her desk.
However, their moment of lightheartedness was abruptly interrupted as Philip stormed into the room, his expression fraught with urgency.
"Alpha... Oh, hi, Liam," Philip blurted out, his gaze darting between the two of them. "How are you, buddy?"
Liam straightened up, a concerned frown replacing his playful grin as he noticed the tension in Philip’s demeanor.
"Good, thanks. Why are you freaking out?" he asked, his tone serious now, sensing that something was amiss.
Anastasia, too, grew somber, her earlier laughter fading as she exchanged a worried glance with Liam.
"Philip, what’s wrong?" she inquired, her voice tinged with apprehension.
Philip’s breath came out in rushed gasps as he struggled to explain.
"Alpha, the psycho blond guy is causing chaos at the clinic," he managed to say, his words rushed and urgent.
Anastasia’s brows furrowed in concern, her mind racing as she processed the gravity of the situation.
"Oh no," she murmured, her heart sinking at the news. "I need to do something about this, now."
Liam nodded in agreement, his expression determined. "I don’t think I need to ask who this guy is. It’s Cobra, isn’t it?"
