Chapter 81: Saliva
Anastasia smiled at Liam as they both dressed comfortably in sweatpants and sweatshirts.
They met outside at 7, the anticipation evident in their expressions.
Liam couldn’t help but tease her about her choice of car. "We’re taking your Mustang? Are you trying to impress me with your car to woo me?"
Anastasia chuckled, playfully raising an eyebrow. "You like cars?"
Liam hummed, a hint of frustration mixed with amusement. "I should have brought my Chiron to woo you properly."
A smile tugged at Liam’s lips, but he hid it by poking his inner cheek with his tongue.
"Hop on... Liam," she said, her voice carrying a melodic tone.
Anastasia smirked, knowing the effect she had on him when she said his name in that particular way.
Liam cleared his throat, a blush creeping onto his cheeks, and hopped into the passenger seat.
He watched as Anastasia started the car and began to drive.
"Where are we going—" His words got stuck in his mouth as Anastasia pressed the gas, causing his head to be forced back.
"Are we racing someone?" he asked, a mix of surprise and excitement in his voice.
Anastasia chuckled, enjoying the thrill of the moment. "No, but you gave me a very good idea on how to woo you. Open the window, you will love it."
Liam eagerly opened the window, feeling the rush of wind against his face as Anastasia accelerated the car even faster.
A wide smile spread across his face, pure joy radiating from him.
Anastasia grinned, her heart overflowing with happiness as she witnessed Liam’s exhilaration.
As they continued their drive, the night became a symphony of laughter, shared stories, and the sound of the engine roaring.
Their connection deepened with each passing moment, their spirits intertwining as they savored the freedom of the open road.
The car’s headlights illuminated the surrounding scenery, casting a magical glow on their faces.
Anastasia and Liam found themselves lost in the thrill of the journey, their laughter and shared experiences creating an unbreakable bond.
In that moment, as they sped along the winding roads, Anastasia knew that their adventure was just beginning, and she couldn’t wait to explore every twist and turn of life with Liam by her side.
She is also very interested to know more about Liam.
What he likes and hates.
Everything, she wants to know every single thing about Liam.
After parking the car, Anastasia looked at Liam with anticipation, her eyes sparkling with excitement, speaking with a shadow smirk on her face "I have to cover your eyes."
Liam looked at her suspiciously, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you have to cover my eyes? This sounds very suspicious."
Anastasia unbuckled her seatbelt, retrieving a blindfold from the backseat then holding eye contact with the smiling Liam who is still looking at her with fake suspiciousness. "It’s because it is a surprise, and I want to see your reaction."
Liam hesitated for a moment before agreeing, intrigued by the mystery.
Liam loves surprises but hates to stay in the dark and wait for the surprise to come.
Anastasia carefully blindfolded him, and her hand held his jaw, which made Liam immediately move his gaze towards hers.
They stared at each other silently for a moment, before Anastasia could tie the blindfold behind his head, her touch gentle yet filled with anticipation.
As they stepped out of the car, Liam’s senses heightened.
He could smell the salty scent of the ocean and feel the soft sand beneath his feet. "I can smell the ocean and the sand. Why are we at the beach?"
Anastasia hummed in response, guiding him with a firm grip on his hand without answering his two questions.
With each step, Liam’s curiosity grew, as he held Anastasia’s hands and trusted her with guiding him to their destination.
Finally, Anastasia untied the blindfold and whispered, "Surprise."
Liam’s eyes widened in awe as he took in the scene before him.
On the sandy beach, there was another car—an SUV—and a projector set up. It seemed like everything had been meticulously planned, creating the perfect setting for a movie night at the beach.
There was a comfortable-looking bed-like structure covered halfway with a tent, candles flickering around, and the night sky adding a touch of magic to the ambiance.
Anastasia nervously tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, her eyes filled with anticipation. "So, ahm... did you like the surprise? I... Ahm, I felt like our dates, I mean the wolves’ dates have been pretty repetitive, so I got some help from fellow humans. They’re really romantic, and I thought you might like it. Do you like it? It’s okay if you don’t."
Her words tumbled out nervously, showcasing her vulnerability.
Liam watched her with a mixture of disbelief and overwhelming emotions. "You did all this... for me?"
Anastasia nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. "Yes, of course, it’s for you, Liam."
Liam blinked away the overwhelming emotions, feeling both lost and deeply loved in this moment.
He let out a sigh, his gaze softening. "Thank you, Anastasia. I really liked your surprise. God, I didn’t expect something like this at all."
His messy emotions swirled within him, a mix of gratitude, affection, and a newfound sense of connection.
Anastasia beamed with happiness, relieved and elated that he appreciated her efforts. "Come on, let’s start our date."
Liam hummed in agreement, his hand finding its way to hers, intertwining their fingers.
They settled down on the comfortable setup, snuggling close, yet there was still space between them as they watched the movie together.
The sound of waves crashing against the shore provided a soothing backdrop as they indulged in snacks, intermittent conversations, and stolen glances.
There was a comfortable silence between them, a space where unspoken words and shared emotions resided.
Anastasia was fighting the urge to close the distance between them, fearful of overwhelming Liam or scaring him off.
To her surprise, Liam reached out and held her hand, his touch sending a jolt of warmth through her.
They continued to enjoy the movie, their fingers entwined, and their hearts beating in synchrony.
In that moment, the world faded away, leaving only the two of them, immersed in a date that felt like a beautiful dream.
___________
They came back home after their movie night at the beach.
"Good night, Anastasia. Thank you for tonight." Anastasia’s heart was filled with joy and excitement as she bid Liam goodnight and watched him disappear into his room.
The evening had been nothing short of magical, and her happiness was almost tangible.
She couldn’t help but let out a delighted chuckle while rubbing her heart as she skipped down the hallway, her steps light and buoyant.
With each step towards the dungeons, Anastasia’s uncertainty grew.
She couldn’t wait to see Cobra, to hold him in her arms again after their time apart.
The thought of their reunion made her heart race with anticipation.
As she reached the heavy wooden door leading to the dungeons, she took a deep breath and unlocked it before pushing it open.
The familiar scent of damp stone and cold air greeted her, and she hurriedly made her way down the dimly lit corridor.
The torches flickered, casting dancing shadows along the walls, but Anastasia’s focus remained on her destination.
Finally, she arrived at Cobra’s cell.
Without hesitation, she opened the door, revealing the familiar sight of him.
Their eyes met, and Anastasia’s face lit up with a radiant smile.
She rushed towards him, unable to contain her excitement any longer.
Anastasia wrapped her arms tightly around Cobra, and he hugged her back even tighter.
Their embrace was filled with longing, a desperate need to be close to one another.
They breathed in each other’s scents, finding solace in the familiar aroma that brought them comfort and a sense of belonging.
But as their hug intensified, Cobra suddenly broke the embrace, his eyes glowing with an angry red hue. "Anastasia...Whose scent is this on you?"
Anastasia’s heart sank, realizing that he had detected Liam’s scent on her. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Cobra’s voice was laced with both sadness and rage as he confronted her. "What is this stranger’s scent on you, Anastasia? It’s stuck on you."
He is not calling her ’my love’.
Anastasia took a deep breath, gathering her courage to reveal the truth.
She knew she had to be honest with Cobra, no matter the consequences, she sighed, it is now or never "Cobra, there’s something I need to tell you. You need to stay calm and be open about it."
Cobra’s facial features were still dark and sharp, no sign on his face says he will be open about it at all.
But come on, he thinks that will make Anastasia change her mind.
As she said it is now or never.
" I have two fated mates. Liam Snow and you. I want both of you in my life. It’s not about cheating or betraying you. I believe we can make it work, that we can find happiness together. All three of us."
Cobra shook his head in disbelief, his grip tightening on his long blond hair. "No, no, this can’t be. I won’t allow it. I’ll kill him."
Anastasia’s eyes widened in shock when Cobra grabbed her by her shoulders, unintentionally his claws punctured her skin.
She did not care much because it would heal later and quickly.
But it was painful.
His eyes glowed in deep red, the redness surrounded his eyes and face, showing how angry he was.
Anastasia’s hitched when Cobra growled lowly and pushed his face into her neck.
She could smell how intense her pheromones suddenly got, which means... He is scenting her.
Scenting is basically marking, but instead of the mark being physically visible, his scent will be all over her for weeks and it will be so hard to mask it.
Basically, any wolf will be able to tell that she is mated to him if she doesn’t do something to mask his scent.
She felt amazing, she closed her eyes and enjoyed while holding a fistful of his long blond hair and pushing his face closer to his neck.
"Cobra. Listen to me. We can work through this. Liam is important to me too. I care about both of you. You’re my mate, and I won’t feel complete without you, but I can’t deny my feelings for Liam either."
What she said made Cobra growl angrily and push his claws deeper into her skin.
Anastasia sighed trying to forget about the pain but she winced " Cobra you are hurting me. Stop it."
She needs to stop him before her inner wolf starts to see him as a threat and then she won’t be able to control her true blood wolf that could... kill Cobra.
She gulped, feeling the fear of losing one of her fated mates creeping through her heart.
Cobra retreated his face from her neck, and looked at her eyes, his orbs still glowing red, as he glanced at her shoulders.
He gulped when he noticed that blood sliding down her arms.
He immediately made his claws go away before ripping her shirt, to see the wound only to lean closer and lick her wound.
Werewolf’s saliva helps heal wounds faster, which is why the wounds instantly start closing up after he licked them.
After he made sure they healed, he started retreating further into the corner of the room, his anger pulsating through his veins. "She’s mine. Only mine. You belong to me, Anastasia. I’m sharing you with nobody. I will fucking drink his blood as a fancy wine when I get out of here."
Anastasia’s heart ached at the hatred and anger toward Liam which she saw in Cobra’s eyes.
She approached him gently, trying to bridge the gap between them. "I understand your anger, Cobra. But please, let yourself think about it. I won’t give up on you. I’ll come for you, and I won’t let you go. Just give it a try."
With a heavy sigh, Anastasia left the dungeon after locking it, her heart heavy with the weight of uncertainty.
She hoped that in time, Cobra would find it in his heart to understand and accept Liam as his fated mate, allowing their complicated bond to find a way to flourish.
