Chapter 28: Busted

" Hey, Liam. Wake up, buddy." Deep in his sleep, enjoying his dream that has Anastasia in it, obviously.

He felt someone nudging his shoulder and calling out his name which is why he slowly started to open his eyes, narrowing them due to the lights in the room before straightening his position to look around.

"You okay, bud?" He heard Caleb asking from his side.

He stretched his body while nodding "Yes, wow I slept in the alpha’s office."

He spoke in realization, as a grin crept to his mouth.

Liam’s POV:

"Yes, the alpha actually sent me to wake you up to give you this." He handed me what looked like a timetable, and spoke again "This is your training schedule, the alpha asked me to give it to you and also let you watch how we practice for today until your wounds heal completely."

I nodded and grabbed both my timetable and my check before standing up to carry on stretching before chuckling when Caleb spoke "Dude what you did out there was fucking awesome. You have no idea how crazy that was. I’m so fucking happy because you humbled that brat son of a bitch in front of everyone. He was so pathetic."

Caleb looks like he is about to start jumping happily because apparently, I humbled Scott.

That means I was not the only person whom Scott was calling names like peasant and low-life.

"Come on, bud. From now on we should be best friends and team up against Scott. I seriously still cannot believe you beat his ass in your human form." I chuckled as Caleb hung one of his arms around my shoulder and dragged me with him outside of the office.

As we were walking around the packhouse, laughing and talking together, we stopped at one point when we noticed the head alpha standing inside one of the rooms on the first floor.

"Why is the alpha here?" I asked while looking inside the room, Caleb shrugged as both of us headed to the same room.

I closed my eyes, breathing my mate’s pheromones because I purposely stood right behind her.

Caleb stepped aside and walked closer to the bed where the injured warrior was resting.

The injured warrior has a thick cast around his leg which the doctor made for him after they cleaned his wound and stitched it.

"Try to eat something, Sebastian." Spoke the doctor when the maid brought a tray of lunch for the injured warrior aka Sebastian.

Sebastian barely nodded as his fellows helped him sit up from each side and even helped him eat.

"How many rogues were they?" The head alpha suddenly asked as she stepped closer to the bed, only for one of Sebastian’s fellows/friends to get up and give his place to the head alpha who carefully sat down next to the injured guy.

"A-alpha..."Sebastian opened his mouth to talk but he could barely whisper.

His pale dry lips quivered, as he gulped, struggling to talk because of how exhausted he was.

"Careful, eat and rest. You don’t have to talk now." Anastasia spoke when she noticed how hard it was for Sebastian to talk and she was about to leave the room so that he could actually rest but he suddenly grabbed her hand.

Her brows furrowed in confusion as she looked down at his face, only for Sebastian to shake his head " N-not rogues." He paused to take a deep breath and barely opened his mouth to speak again "The one who attacked me belongs to some pack. I could not tell which one but they were not rogues."

The room fell silent because of two reasons.

The first one is because of this shocking news that nobody saw it coming because we don’t have any enemies of other packs and the second one is because of how Sebastian’s hand loosened around the alpha’s hand and fell on the bed.

His heart stopped right away, indicating that the wolfsbane reached his heart and killed him.

"No." I heard Sebastian’s friends whisper under their breath in denial as tears ran down their faces while looking at the dead warrior.

Anastasia stood there, frozen in her spot while staring at Sebastian’s body.

"Caleb, start the funeral and send condolences and funds to his family." That was the last thing she said before storming out of the room, angrily smacking a vase that was in the hallway against the wall.

I quietly watched Caleb approaching the bed, bending over to give one last hug to Sebastian and whispered " I’m sorry, rest in peace, buddy."

Then he left after patting my shoulder.

I could not watch this anymore which is why I left the room too.

The packhouse is in a mess right now.

"Alexander!!" I heard the head alpha, calling out her brother’s name loudly.

My favorite kid came running downstairs, he looked scared because he thought he had done something wrong. "Y-yes?"

I did not hesitate to bend over and carry him in my arms, doing my best to make him feel a bit safer.

" Put him on my back, Snow. And you put the bag on and hold on tight." Anastasia spoke while giving a bag to Alexander to put on his back, before taking her jacket off and shifting to her wolf form.

I gulped when I felt that strong wave of her pheromones hit my nostrils.

Her wolf is beautiful and huge.

As I said before, her wolf is three times larger than a normal wolf, it’s 15 feet tall.

She lay down on the floor, for me to put Alexander on her back.

I did even though I had no clue where she was taking him "Hold onto the fur tight. Don’t let go."

Gosh, her fur is so soft, I wish I could stroke the wolf more but that would be weird.

I hugged Alexander one more time before Anastasia started running out of the packhouse.

I followed her.

She is so fast, at some point I lost her but I kept following her scent.

I saw her stop at some house.

The house is huge and has a strong omegas scent coming out of it.

Is this the old packhouse where they are keeping the omegas and kids safe?

" Ana, I’m scared. It’s too high." Alexander spoke, letting Anastasia know that he could not jump off her back because it was too high for him.

I heard bone-cracking sounds as she shifted back to her human form while making sure that Alexander would not fall.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

She is naked, oh my God.

Her body is perfect, I cursed under my breath when I felt my pants tightening around me, oh fuck, I looked down at my lap, only to find a tent there.

When I looked up, I found Anastasia already dressed.

Apparently, the bag had her clothes in it.

" Come here." She whispered before carefully picking Alexander up in her arms and stepping toward the door, ringing the bell before walking backward when someone opened the door.

The person who opened the door was nobody other than some male omega whose eyes widened when he realized the head alpha was here " Alpha?"

"I’m here to drop Alexander." In her unbothered tone, she spoke before looking at Alexander " You are going to stay here to be safe. Stay in your room until I come to get you."

Alexander nodded obediently while wrapping his arms around his sister’s neck "Okay, but why?"

"Some other pack is trying to attack us. Omegas and kids will be kept here safe. Grow up quickly to fight with me, okay?"

Wait, is Anastasia being nice to her brother?

Out of a sudden, what is happening?

I seriously thought she hated him the other day.

" Okay, I promise. I will grow up quickly, and be strong like you to fight." Anastasia hummed with a tiny grin on her face as she patted his little head.

Alexander hugged her neck tightly and surprisingly, she wrapped her arms around his whole body and kissed his head " Come on, go with this nice uncle. He will take care of you."

She placed her brother down and asked him to walk closer to the omega who smiled and opened his arms for Alex.

"Take care of him. Make sure he eats his meals, if he doesn’t like the meal, make another one. Shower him every night and play with him. All the toys are still in his old room where he will be staying and you stay with him. Your daily payment will be wired to your bank account every 24 hours."

While Anastasia was talking, Alexander had already approached the omega and hugged him.

"Yes, I will make sure to do all this. Don’t worry, alpha." He replied with a grin on his face.

Anastasia stared at her brother from afar, unable to walk closer to the omega "Alexander go inside."

The kid nodded and ran inside, screaming happily because he met other kids there which left Anastasia alone with the omega.

Her facial features instantly changed as she glared at the omega who gulped " If I find out that you are not doing your job properly, you will regret it."

In fear, the omega nodded before looking down to the ground and rushing inside the old packhouse when Anastasia finally walked away.

She suddenly stopped in the middle of the road"Snow what are you doing here?"
