Chapter 1142: Chapter 463: Love Egg-Stuffed Pancake! TV Station Makes Eight Treasure Gourd Duck? Let’s Do It Too!

"Isn’t Lin Xu supposed to be taking wedding photos today? Why’s he calling me now?"

At the Longqi Mountain Scenic Area, inside the farmhouse restaurant, Chen Meijuan was having dinner with her entire family. Seeing Lin Xu’s call, she curiously murmured and then took the phone, stepping out of the noisy restaurant to the outside.

"Son, how did today’s wedding photo shoot go?"

Once the call connected, she curiously asked.

Earlier, her daughter-in-law had posted a few selfies in the family group and on social media, and they looked so beautiful.

Her son and daughter-in-law seemed like a perfect couple, instantly filling the somewhat weary Chen Meijuan with renewed energy.

In the courtyard of the farmhouse, parked next to each other were the latest Range Rover bought by Shen Jiayue for Lin Hongqi, in a champagne gold color that looked grand. Its broad body and sturdy design gave a strong sense of presence.

Beside it was the BMW X1 that Shen Jiayue used to drive, now sporting a Yinzhou license plate.

Despite its X1 appearance, this car had been modified to the extent that it could almost sell for a domestic X5. Compared to an X5, this car offered both better off-road capabilities and comfort.

It’s small and very pleasant to drive.

Outside the two cars was the Toyota Prado that Lin Hongqi used to drive, which had recently been officially transferred to Lin Xu’s uncle, Shi Wenming.

With the booming business at the scenic area, Shi Wenming’s old car was unsuitable for transporting groceries. Plus, given the area’s extensive development, small cars had difficulty maneuvering in and out, often getting scratched on the undercarriage.

With the Toyota Prado, not only could it carry more ingredients, but it also didn’t fear rough roads.

"The photo shoot was exhausting, felt like a prop... Mom, have you eaten yet?"

"I’m eating right now. The construction vehicles for the scenic area expansion have damaged the roads, and your dad is discussing with your second uncle about repairing the roads inside the park and to the town... Anything you need, son?"

Lin Xu said:

"I want you to come to Beijing for a visit..."

As soon as he said this, Chen Meijuan eagerly asked:

"What’s wrong, son? Did something happen?"

"Nothing’s wrong. It’s just that the Ginkgo Garden where I shot that video last time gave me a fifteen percent stake and wants to turn it into an ecological park. I don’t understand that, so I wanted you to come and take a look, considering you’re the expert in this field."

Flattered by her son’s words, a satisfied smile naturally appeared on Chen Meijuan’s face:

"Your dad and I are amateurs, hardly experts. But I can take a trip there... Before making the scenic area, your dad and I wanted to do an ecological park, but we wanted to include so many things that it eventually became a scenic area."

Lin Xu: "..."

Add more water if it’s thick, add more flour if it’s thin, and then we ended up with a big bowl of dough, right?

He said:

"Then why don’t you come over in the next few days? Yueyue wants to eat those big glass noodles meatballs from our hometown, which is your specialty. And you can help us select some photos while you’re at it."

Not all the wedding photos can be used; the bride and groom need to select them.

Of course, this is a typical tactic from wedding photography studios. They make all the photos look beautiful, then use some sales tactics to persuade the couple to pay extra for printing.

Through this back-and-forth, they make money.

During times like May Day or National Day, when it’s common to take wedding photos, these studios offer ultra-low-price packages, waiting for the couple to order extra prints.

When the additional print prices are raised, profits skyrocket.

But that’s not how Cai Sen operates; he’s a high-end photographer. Even at a friendly rate, a shoot costs in the five figures, so he doesn’t need to rely on those low-end tactics.

"I’ll come over on the weekend, then. Your second aunt is worried that Yuanyuan might be cold and wants to send some winter clothes. I’ll bring them over on this trip."

"Alright, once you buy the ticket, remember to send me the train details. Yueyue and I will pick you up at the station."

Lin Xu chatted with Chen Meijuan a bit more, then handed the phone to the eagerly waiting Shen Jiayue so they could chat.

Soon, the weekend arrived.

Early in the morning, Shen Jiayue began tidying up the bedding and then picked up the floor washing machine to start cleaning the house.

With her mother-in-law coming today, she needed to appear diligent.

Even though I’m not good at cooking, doing some housework is no problem.

Downstairs, Lin Xu was busy making breakfast.

After letting the prepared dough rest, he rolled it into long strips and then divided it into small portions.

The dough pieces were pressed into thick strips, oiled in the middle, then twisted and folded with a rolling pin into round thin pancakes to be placed on a preheated electric griddle.

The electric griddle was already prepped and oiled.

When the dough was placed on it, it sizzled immediately.

Taking advantage of the break, Lin Xu cracked an egg into a bowl, added a pinch of pepper salt and some chopped scallions, and quickly stirred with chopsticks.

The pancake was already puffed up when he flipped it over with chopsticks, revealing a golden-brown bottom.

The pancake was double-layered from the start, and as it heated, space formed in the middle. Lin Xu carefully poured the beaten egg mixture inside after pricking it with chopsticks.

Then he used a bamboo spatula to rotate the pancake, allowing the egg mixture to spread evenly.

After cooking for a minute, the egg inside had solidified. Lin Xu flipped the pancake again, cooking for another thirty seconds, then flipped it once more.

While it was still hot, he brushed a layer of soybean paste fried in hot oil on top, placed a fried ham sausage, added a small pack of spicy strips, sprinkled a little dried chili powder, and finally laid some lettuce leaves. The savory egg pancake, crispy on both sides, was rolled up and placed on a nearby plate.
