Eldest Female Cousin drove at breakneck speed.
Around 1:00 PM, Shen Yuan and Li Zhi arrived at the apartment complex.
After the car came to a stop, Eldest Female Cousin said, "Alright, off you go. Remember to study hard tonight."
Yang Yishui’s gaze fell on Shen Yuan as she continued, "National Day is next week, and the monthly exams are right after. Do you have a goal for this one?"
Hearing this, Shen Yuan turned his head. His gaze first landed on his Eldest Female Cousin, then quickly swept over to Li Zhi in the back seat.
"635. Or higher."
Eldest Female Cousin was slightly taken aback by the number. She clicked her tongue. "Tsk, tsk, tsk, improving that fast? Are you that confident?"
The corners of Shen Yuan’s mouth lifted into a confident smile. "Of course. What else? My math scores are on the rise!"
Seeing his expression, Eldest Female Cousin chuckled along. "Let’s hope so."
"Drive safe," Shen Yuan reminded her.
"I know," Eldest Female Cousin replied before starting the car and slowly pulling away from the complex.
After his cousin left, Shen Yuan’s gaze fell on Li Zhi once more.
He looked at her and asked softly, "Come on. Want to come over to my place to do homework later?"
Li Zhi lifted her eyes to meet his. Her lips curved slightly upward as she let out a soft scoff. "Dream on."
With that, the beautiful girl strode off toward her own building, leaving Shen Yuan with nothing but the sight of her dashing back.
Seeing this, Shen Yuan pouted helplessly but started walking after her anyway.
"Why are you walking so fast? It’s not like I’m going to bite you."
Li Zhi stopped in her tracks and turned to face him. She wrinkled her nose slightly and said menacingly, "You never know."
Shen Yuan stared at her for a moment, then suddenly hunched his back, curled one hand into a claw near his chest, and let out a drawn-out bark.
"WOOF!"
The sudden action made Li Zhi jump. Her eyes shot wide open, and she instinctively took half a step back.
Clearly, the beautiful girl hadn’t expected Shen Yuan to do something like that.
"Are you an idiot?!" Li Zhi snapped furiously the moment she recovered.
But before the words were even out of her mouth, she saw Shen Yuan continue barking, "WOOF! WOOF!"
Not only that, but he started running toward her as he barked.
Li Zhi’s pupils contracted. Like a startled fawn, she spun around, her snow-white sneakers scraping briefly against the concrete.
"Stay away from me, you moron!!"
The girl shrieked as she sprinted toward her building entrance, her ponytail whipping wildly over her shoulders.
Shen Yuan, however, paid her reaction no mind, relentlessly keeping close behind her.
But he kept his pace just short of actually catching up to the beautiful girl.
And so, the two of them horsed around all the way to the elevator bay.
Li Zhi frantically jabbed the elevator button, seemingly desperate to avoid any interaction with Shen Yuan for even a second longer.
But both elevators were on upper floors and wouldn’t be down anytime soon.
With a helpless expression, Li Zhi watched as Shen Yuan’s figure slowly appeared in the elevator bay.
"Hey! No barking!" Li Zhi snapped without hesitation the very instant she saw him.
Shen Yuan, unfazed, simply grinned, revealing a row of white teeth. "Come on, I’m not a pervert."
"Hmph."
Li Zhi snorted at his explanation, rolled her eyes dramatically, and retorted mercilessly, "I wonder who was just barking like a dog nonstop at the complex entrance. I think the security guard was about to come over with a dog-catching pole!"
Faced with her accusation, Shen Yuan blinked, putting on a bewildered look as if he had no memory of what just happened.
Young Master Li, after all, had been sparring with Shen Yuan for years. By now, she had recovered from her earlier panic.
Seeing Shen Yuan trying to play dumb, the corner of Li Zhi’s mouth suddenly curled into a sly smile.
*Tsk-tsk-tsk.* She softly made that familiar sound, as if calling for something.
Shen Yuan’s body jolted as if he’d been electrocuted. He whipped his head around to stare straight at Li Zhi, his face a mask of disbelief.
Shen Yuan pointed at her dramatically. "Hey! You’re really going there, huh?"
But the smile on Li Zhi’s face didn’t falter in the slightest as she continued to make that exasperating yet amusing *tsk-tsk-tsk* sound.

Shen Yuan strode up to Li Zhi, bent down slightly with a threatening look, and said menacingly, "Don’t think I won’t actually bite you!"
However, the instant the words left his mouth, the unexpected happened.
A crisp command suddenly came from the beautiful girl’s mouth:
"Sit!"
The word struck Shen Yuan’s ears like a clap of thunder.
Not only that, but Li Zhi also paired it with a "sit" hand gesture.
Shen Yuan was stunned by this sudden turn of events. He stared at Li Zhi, his eyes wide with disbelief.
After a long moment, he finally came to his senses and said to Li Zhi, torn between laughter and tears, "Come on, girl. Do you really think you’re a dog trainer?"
The corners of Li Zhi’s mouth lifted into a smug smile; she seemed quite pleased with Shen Yuan’s reaction.
But soon, another command barked from her lips: "Sit!"
