This was a dining pocha near Cheongdam GCV, where the VIP premiere of <Faster Than the Law> had just taken place. Today, the entire venue had been rented out.
“Setup complete!”
“Check the mic batteries one more time—.”
It was all for JC ENM’s in-house content, First Ride Live.

-No but her face getting redder and redder makes me feel like I’m at the company dinner too lol
-Why is Yeoreum so good at drinking? She’s not even drunk and she’s having a glass with every single staff member..
ㄴIf you look at how she leaves the camera and goes to drink, she was already drunk from 19:33 lololol
-I seriously love this kind of thing, it feels like you’re just watching casual private conversations, it’s so fun T_T wish my actor would do this..
The response was pretty good. In particular, the feeling of being included even in a celebrity’s private gathering seemed fresh to subscribers.
“And Yeoreum just landed the Creamy Soda model deal too.”
The timing was insanely perfect. Product placement melted naturally into the in-house content they had been preparing. Inside the dining pocha—perfect for a first date atmosphere—sweet sky-blue ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) Creamy Soda cans were stacked layer upon layer.
‘I wonder how well it’ll do this time.’
After episode 1 of <Strange Tales> aired, the previous ASMR video had seen another surge in views. Han Yeoreum was an actress who knew how to capture the public’s attention with nothing but her voice.
‘If it does as well as I’m expecting....’
Ever since <ParCheHi>, Seong Team Leader’s eye for recognizing Han Yeoreum had grown even sharper. Creamy Soda, which had been released just over a month ago, was already boasting a fairly high sales rate among new products.
‘It might just be a flash, but it’s definitely going to blow up properly!’
Seong Team Leader smiled as he took in the set. Just then, it was time to start filming the in-house content.
“Hello—.”
After the premiere, the actors and Director Gong entered all at once. Camera setup complete, lighting set, mics on.
Everything moved quickly toward filming. In the lively atmosphere, the <Faster Than the Law> wrap party began.
* * *
“Back then, what was it—Hyunjo and I went to Jangchung-dong and got beaten every day, beaten again and again....”
“Cheolsik, people are going to think you actually went there to get beaten. You should say you went to learn action!”
“That’s not wrong. We really did get beaten a lot.”
The drinking party stayed light. The table, lined with food and Creamy Soda like now, was no different from any other wrap party. The actors casually shared behind-the-scenes stories as if chatting off-camera.
“Our foal’s gotta do action later too. Kid runs really well.”
Gwak Cheolsik naturally tossed the conversation toward Yeoreum. As the youngest on <Faster Than the Law>, Yeoreum was teased just enough by her seniors while also joining in the conversation.
“Alright! Everyone, let’s each reenact one iconic scene from the movie!”
With one drink, then another, the mood grew increasingly playful.
Just like in the trailer, Gwak Cheolsik raised his fist, Yun Hyeonjo recited legal jargon, Kay smirked while saying to do things by the law—and finally, Yeoreum.
“Have them play that one for me. Everyone together, one, two, three, then Pretty girl... let’s go!”
Holding a Creamy Soda in one hand, Yeoreum brushed her hair back in time with the music. Her pose was locked in slow motion.
“Hahaha!”
“Is it okay to advertise this openly like that?”
“The model has to advertise, then.”
Deliberately holding the can close to her face, Yeoreum blinked prettily as if she truly didn’t know. Her movements were still in slow motion.
‘Yeoreum....’
‘Thank you....’
The Creamy Soda representatives present looked on with eyes full of emotion. They had a feeling this would circulate as a clip. It felt like a good response was coming.
“Huh? What’s this?”
Just as the drinking party was hitting its stride, a staff member approached from afar holding a cake with lit candles.
“Con-gra-tu-la-tions on the release—.”
As everyone sang together, Director Gong—ever the empathetic one—had his eyes grow moist. He covered his face with both hands and let out a delicate sob.
“Hey, you’re supposed to blow out the candles before you cry!”
“They say the director cried yesterday too.”
Gwak Cheolsik and Yun Hyeonjo teased him with nudges, but he cried miserably all the same.
“Sniff... the results aren’t even out yet, and you’re congratulating me, sniff! Is that okay....” freewebnσvel.cѳm
Even while crying, he diligently took photos.
“Alright, alright! Look to the front before the candles melt.”
The staff took photos of the <Faster Than the Law> team gathered around the cake. Clickclickclickclick—! Not just a single click, but the rapid-fire shutter made everyone burst out laughing again.
“Hurry, hurry! At this rate the place is going to catch fire!”
The candles had grown short. The <Faster Than the Law> team huddled together. On the count of one, two, three—whoosh—they blew out the candles.
“Last round, last round! Come on, everyone, cheers!”
Glasses clinked once more over the cake. With a request for viewers to come watch <Faster Than the Law>, filming finally wrapped up.

Right after filming ended, the familiar post-shoot chaos settled in.
But only the equipment was being packed away—the people stayed seated. Ja Sokhwan and Myeong Jeha, who had been nearby, were about to join.
Thinking again about the name Yeon Huijae that Director Ja had mentioned earlier, the alcohol hit me all at once. My heart kept pounding.
‘I haven’t even finished the project I’m on, and just thinking that I might already have another one lined up....’
My heartbeat grew uncontrollably loud. That was when—
“Everyone, take one copy each.”
Director Gong handed something out. I accepted it without thinking.
“Uh... Director....”
It was the sequel script for <Faster Than the Law>.
“Let’s go again with this exact lineup. Regardless of the results, the next series has already been greenlit!”
The script in my hands felt incredibly light. But I couldn’t hold it steadily. Maybe because it was too heavy—my hands were shaking.
“Foal! Are you crying?!”
Gwak Cheolsik shouted when he saw me. Right. I was crying...? Tears were dripping onto the words <Faster Than the Law> printed on the cover.
“These napkins are soft—good for wiping tears.”
Yun Hyeonjo handed me a tissue. I pressed it firmly to my face, but the tears kept coming.
“Why are you crying, Yeoreum, why! You must’ve heard rumors about the next series already, right?”
Director Gong panicked. Yes. I knew they were making a sequel.
I even roughly knew the content. I’d seen it. There was no way I wouldn’t know a ten-million-viewer movie.
But because of that, I’d also let go of some of my greed. I knew Influencer No. 1 wouldn’t appear in <Faster Than the Law 2>, so ever since hearing Myeong Jeha’s words, I’d been unsure.
And deep down, I hadn’t expected it. Because expecting something only to have it crumble hurts more. I knew that better than anyone....
“Director, you... you never said anything about a next project to me. So I just... thought I was obviously... out....”
My breath caught. If Professor Geum Bitgang saw this, she’d probably scold me on the spot. I couldn’t even finish a single sentence properly.
“Man, villains really can’t live without suffering.”
The actor who played Kay, sitting next to me, joked.
“Ah, I’m really sorry. I know how it feels, I do. But the villain has to change every series....”
“This was a joke—why are you empathizing with it too, Director!”
At the exchange between Kay and Director Gong, I laughed while crying. I already had three scripts now.
The <Strange Tales> I was currently doing, the <Faster Than the Law> I would be doing, and the <The Great Garland> I felt like I might be able to do.
I was no longer Han Yeoreum with no lines. I had roles.
“What is this? Why are you making people cry? This set’s no good.”
The entrance grew noisy. Director Ja and Myeong Jeha had arrived after being contacted.
“We should kick those people out. Who comes to someone else’s movie wrap party and starts pitching their own project?”
“Alright, alright. First, <The Great Garland>—what it’s about is—”
“Hey, if someone’s talking, maybe listen....”
Director Gong complained, but the moment he entered, Director Ja walked straight toward me and started talking, whether I was crying or not.
I wiped away the tears that kept threatening to spill and listened closely to Director Ja. Being moved was one thing, but I had to grab the chance at a major next project.
“But there’s one problem.”
“A problem, as in...?”
“We need to pull in a lot of money. It’s a period drama.” frёewebnoѵēl.com
“Yes....”
Director Ja hesitated in a way unlike him, then dismissed it bluntly.
“I’ve always been the boss! But this time, money’s the issue—it’s not that simple!”
Then he delivered the conclusion.
“Right now, the investor is the boss!”
So...? Just as the incomprehensible conversation with Director Ja was heading deeper into confusion, Myeong Jeha calmly summarized from beside him.
“They want to push Gi Juye.”
Ah... so that’s it....
“If the power struggle between the investor and the director doesn’t work out, it means you, Yeoreum, have to fight Gi Juye for the role through an audition.”
He was saying I’d have to go one-on-one with Gi Juye.
