Sunxiao carried the fruit, and Qiao Xixi no longer had him carry her. Instead, she browsed the various stalls, looking at all sorts of things.

The two of them walked over to a stall selling Wild Bull Beast meat. The butcher was a rather tall and large black bear male.
When he saw Qiao Xixi approach, he greeted her warmly.

The black bear sir chuckled. "He’s my grandson. A real troublemaker. He wouldn’t be sitting here so quietly if he weren’t tired out from playing."
"Sir, do you go hunting outside Beast King City every day?"
"Not every day, no. We go once every few days. Little female, are you here in the tribe for the Sacrificial Grand Ceremony?"
Qiao Xixi smiled and nodded. "That’s right. It’s my first time here. The ceremony must be very grand, right?"
The black bear sir took the opportunity, as he was handing the vine-wrapped meat to Sunxiao, to lean in close to them and whisper, "Leave this place as soon as the Sacrificial Grand Ceremony is over. Don’t stay a single day longer."
Qiao Xixi was quick on the uptake and replied, "Why? Is there some kind of danger in Beast King City?"
The black bear sir’s next action surprised Qiao Xixi. After hearing her question, he lifted his head and gave Sunxiao a deep, meaningful look.
His eyes met Sunxiao’s crimson, snake-like pupils, and in that single instant, the black bear sir felt an immense, oppressive pressure.

Qiao Xixi’s expression didn’t change as she thanked him. She even gave the black bear sir an extra colorless Crystal Stone.
The black bear sir didn’t expect her to be so generous. Before they left, he couldn’t help but add, "Little female, watch over your beast-husband."

When they got back to the stone house, Jin Ling and the others had already finished cleaning up.
Sunxiao carried the meat to the back room used for cooking to prepare it with Sangze.
Jin Ling wasn’t surprised to see them return with such a large piece of meat. He simply watched Qiao Xixi with a gentle gaze.
"What all did you buy?"
Qiao Xixi proudly listed her purchases as if showing off treasures. "Beast King City really has everything! I bought everything we’ll need. We can use these beast hides to make clothes for the cubs when we get back."
Jin Ling listened quietly as she spoke. Once she had finished explaining her plans for everything, he quickly put all the items away.
Qiao Xixi plopped down on a stool, watching Jin Ling’s busy figure as if she didn’t have a bone in her body. A warm feeling spread through her heart.
Since it was their first day, for dinner they simply made some roasted meat and a bone broth.
"Let’s take this roasted meat to Kunlin and his group. After all, they escorted us the whole way here," Jin Ling said, walking in with a large basin of roasted meat.
Qiao Xixi agreed. "Mm. We should thank them properly after we get back."
No one had any objections, so Jin Ling carried the roasted meat out.
Kunlin and the other Wing Clan males were staying next door. It was very close, just a few steps away.
By the time Jin Ling returned, Qiao Xixi was lifting her bowl to take a sip of the bull bone broth.

Feiyan stood up as well. "I’ll go with you."
Xijing nodded, and the two of them turned and headed for the backyard.
Jin Ling also rose to his feet. "I’ll go too, to learn the way."
Getting water here wasn’t as convenient as it was in the inner city, but as long as there was water available, Qiao Xixi had nothing to complain about.
That night, Qiao Xixi luxuriously used the water Jin Ling and the others had carried back to take a comfortable bath.
As she came out of her room, she saw Jin Ling and the others heading out. "Jin Ling, where are you all going so late?"
Jin Ling said, "We’re going out to wash up too. We’ll be back soon."
Qiao Xixi thought about how they also liked to be clean. They hadn’t been able to wash properly during the past few days of travel, so they must be feeling uncomfortable.
"It’s dark out. All of you, be careful."

After they all left, only Sunxiao and Feiyan remained in the house.

"You’re not going to talk? If you don’t say something right now, I’m really going to ignore you!"
