Chapter 359: Chapter 359: The Cub Wants to Fight Too

Having lost an arm, Mr. Bai was so enraged his eyes turned bloodshot.

"Kill them!"

ROAR!

Without the suppression of the Crystal Stones, the beast soul energy of every beastman was unleashed. The inner city had turned into a brutal killing field, a stage for a life-or-death struggle.

Qiao Yi carefully set Qiao Ang down on the ground.

"Stay behind Langqi."

"Okay! I’ll cover Langqi’s rear!"

Qiao Yi froze for a moment before bursting into laughter. "That’s my grandson, all right. Good."

Qiao Ang paused, taken aback, but quickly shook it off and threw himself wholeheartedly into the fight.

Mr. Bai, riding his Golden Eagle Beast, climbed higher and higher, attempting to escape the battlefield. But soon, he felt his mount go still.

Mr. Bai’s heart leaped in alarm. He whipped his head around, eyes wide, and met a pair of black eyes brimming with a sinister aura.

"And where do you think you’re going?"

"You’re courting death."

Mr. Bai roared, sweeping his palm toward Sangze. He was a renowned powerhouse in Tiger Beast City; even with one arm, he believed he was more than a match for this opponent.

As Mr. Bai swung his fist, Sangze dissolved into a black mist and drifted behind him.

A chill ran down Mr. Bai’s spine. In the next instant, a tendril of black mist coiled around his neck.

Mr. Bai’s pupils shrank. The black mist lifted him into the air, pulling him off the Golden Eagle Beast.

"You..."

He gathered a formidable amount of beast soul energy in his palm and swung at his own neck.

But just as his palm was about to strike, the mist abruptly released him. Unable to retract his power in time, Mr. Bai could only twist away, but the force of his palm still slammed into his own shoulder.

"Ugh!"

Freed from the black mist, Mr. Bai plummeted downwards.

Seeing this, the Golden Eagle Beast flapped its wings and flew over to catch him.

"Kill them! Kill them all!"

Qiao Xixi, having just led the cubs back into the inner city, heard Mr. Bai’s enraged roars.

The Golden Eagle Beasts circling overhead heard Mr. Bai’s command and turned, flying toward the main tribe area.

Qiao Xixi’s face paled.

"Wind."

A fierce gale kicked up, blocking the Golden Eagle Beasts’ path.

"Xixi."

Qiao Xixi looked up to see Sunxiao, covered in wounds. "Sunxiao, are you alright?"

"I’m fine."

As he spoke, Sunxiao whipped his long tail, violently knocking away a beastman who was trying to approach Qiao Xixi.

Blocked by the powerful winds, the Golden Eagle Beasts couldn’t get through. The beastmen riding them had no choice but to leap down and attempt to charge through the main gate.

"Father Beast."

Sunxiao glanced at the injured Qiao Lie, his scarlet, serpentine eyes darkening. "You’re hurt?"

The tension on Qiao Lie’s small face eased slightly. "It’s just a scratch, I’m fine!"

A male beastman suddenly appeared behind Qiao Lie. Just as his hand was about to touch the boy, Sunxiao’s long tail lashed out, sending him flying.

Qiao Xixi saw what the enemy beastmen were planning. She said to the cubs behind her, "Mother is going to guard the gate. You stay behind Father Beast Sunxiao. Don’t wander off."

"We know, Mother!"

Cradling the tiger cub, Qiao Xixi turned and left.

"Xixi."

Qiao Xixi glanced back, giving Sunxiao a reassuring look. "I can protect myself. You two be careful."

Qiao Xixi quickly chanted an incantation.

"Water."

The blood spilling from the beastmen’s bodies quickly rose into the air.

"Fire!"

The blood shot like projectiles toward the beastmen trying to run for the inner city gate.

Just then, Jin Ling and Feiyan arrived, having pursued the warriors of Tiger Beast City back to the gates of the inner city.

"Xixi!"

Jin Ling immediately spotted Qiao Xixi running out from within the inner city.

"Jin Ling, are you all alright?"

Jin Ling, Feiyan, and their men were covered head to toe in blood, making it impossible to distinguish their own from their enemies’.

"I’m fine. Are you and the cubs alright?"

"We’re fine. The beastmen from Tiger Beast City are trying to break out of the inner city to massacre everyone in the tribe. We have to trap them inside."

"Right."

Feiyan ordered the males of the patrol team to guard the gate from the outside.

In the next moment, Qiao Xixi saw Fox Ji approaching with a dozen or so male warriors.

"Clan Leader, we don’t know what’s going on, but we can tell the tribe is in danger. Our numbers are few, but we wish to lend our strength."

Qiao Xixi hadn’t expected them to step forward at a time like this. These were arguably the strongest warriors their small tribe had to offer.

"Good."

No sooner had he spoken than Xijing arrived, with more of the tribe’s warriors behind her.

"Xixi."

"Xijing, I’m here."

"Everyone wants to help us protect the tribe."

The warriors behind Xijing declared, "We will fight with the Clan Leader to drive back the enemy!"

"That’s right! Drive them back!"

Qiao Xixi nodded, her gaze firm with resolve.

"We will unite and drive them back!"

"They’re breaking through."

Feiyan and Jin Ling moved to shield Qiao Xixi and the tiger cub.

The beastmen of Tiger Beast City broke through the barrier and began to charge frantically toward the gate.

Qiao Xixi raised her hands and silently chanted an incantation.

"Wind."

A furious gale erupted, forming an invisible barrier before the charging beastmen.

"ARGH!"

A new round of slaughter began.

Tiger Beast City had deployed only beastmen with beast souls. Though not all were high-ranking, their numbers reached a full five hundred—a force large enough to cripple any major tribe.

But as it happened, their opponent was the Black Panther Tribe.

Qiao Xixi had given the order: kill them all. Leave no one alive.

The beastmen, pinned down by the gale, struggled to push forward. Just as they were wondering where this unnatural wind was coming from, it abruptly died.

The beastmen’s faces were contorted with savagery, their eyes bloodshot, as if they meant to tear the very world apart.

"Tear every last member of the Black Panther Tribe to shreds!"

"ROAR!"

But just as the beastmen were about to charge, they saw a curtain of water droplets materialize before them like a shield.

"Why... why isn’t the water moving?"

Qiao Xixi slowly opened her eyes, a murderous glint shattering their depths. "Fire."

The curtain of water droplets transformed into a volley of icy-sharp arrows and shot toward them.

Jin Ling, Feiyan, and their warriors charged forward, following in the wake of the flying water projectiles.

"ROAR!"

The roar of a tiger pierced the heavens.

"AWOO!"

The tiger cub stood at Qiao Xixi’s feet. A dark pattern, previously hidden, suddenly materialized on her forehead. She opened her little mouth and, mimicking her Father Beast, let out a howl toward the sky. Her tiny figure was like a taut arrow, poised to strike!

However, just as the valiant little cub was about to charge into the fray, her heroic destiny was cut short as she was seized by the scruff of her neck.

Qiao Xixi had snatched her up with a quick hand.

"You silly little cub, what makes you think you can just charge in there?"

"AWOO!"

The tiger cub huffed indignantly. ’She felt full of power, ready to go all out!’

A beastman who broke through the defensive line spotted Qiao Xixi and the tiger cub alone and charged straight for them. But before he could even get close, a swift figure lunged from behind and snapped his neck in its jaws.

Feiyan viciously flung the lifeless body aside and leaped in front of Qiao Xixi, taking a protective stance.

The battle raged on, from day to night, and from night back to day...
