The heavy scent of blood was washed away by the rain, and murky, blood-streaked water streamed down the mountainside.
The python’s crimson pupils narrowed into cold, vertical slits as its massive body reared higher and higher.
The Black Phoenix seized the opportunity and swooped down again, its sharp talons aimed straight for the python’s crimson eyes.
The giant python seemed paralyzed by the Black Phoenix’s beast soul ability, remaining ramrod straight and motionless.
A cold, murderous glint flashed in the Black Phoenix’s dark eyes. Just as its talons were about to reach the python’s pupils, the massive tail suddenly whipped up and slammed violently into its body.
The Black Phoenix was sent flying, crashing violently into a towering tree.
Giving it no chance to recover, the giant python slithered forward rapidly and opened its cavernous, blood-red maw.
The Black Phoenix’s pupils contracted. It lashed out with a black wing, striking the python’s head. As the python flinched, the phoenix took the opportunity to escape back into the sky.
Sunxiao slowly raised his head, gazing coldly at Kunqi, who was hovering in mid-air.
’This is why I hate the Wing Clan so much,’ he thought. ’They just fly away when they can’t win. It’s absolutely disgusting!’

None of the Wing Clan males noticed that as they spoke, a dark figure had silently appeared behind them.
The Wing Clan member who had just been speaking felt a sudden weight on his shoulder. He turned to see a head of black hair resting there.
Their eyes met.
Sangze grinned, revealing two sweet dimples at the corners of his mouth.
"Who was it you said was under your feet?"
The Wing Clan members’ faces paled. They practically leaped back, staring at Sangze with alarm.
"When did you wake up? Wait, no. We tied you up with stone chains. You’re a 3-star beast soul beastman, how did you break free?"
Sangze picked up a piece of the broken stone chain and tilted his head at them. "You mean this?" He then applied a bit of pressure with his fingertips.

The stone chain in his hand snapped in two.
The Wing Clan members’ faces contorted in shock. That kind of strength was impossible for a 3-star beast soul beastman to possess.
"Get him! Don’t let him escape!"
Sangze laughed with wild abandon. "Let’s get one thing straight. No one is allowed to run."
Meanwhile, Huang Ying suddenly had Fenglin change direction, flying toward Sunxiao’s position.

The guards under Kunqi’s command were among the best in Wing Beast City. The fact that Sunxiao had held out this long was already impressive.

Once enlarged, he began flapping his wings furiously toward Sunxiao and the others. As the frequency of his wingbeats increased, trees were ripped from the ground and sent hurtling wildly toward them.
Fenglin had to admit that as one of Wing Beast City’s fiercest warriors, Kunqi’s power was formidable.
As the gale-force winds struck, Sunxiao was forced to dodge the incoming trees.
While he was dodging, the other Wing Clan members suddenly swooped down on him, their sharp talons tearing one bloody gash after another into his body.
