Chapter 21: Saga 21— Double Identities......This is Gonna Be Fucking Wild!

Claire and Harriden had come in contact with each other a few times prior to this meeting. They weren’t on bad terms, nor were they on good terms. They were just two freaks that happened to cross paths more often than needed.

"I presume that you both are already acquainted with each other?" Sylvia spoke before these two could cause a ruckus.

"I am familiar with the elven princess." Harriden folded his arms.

"Likewise." Claire flicked her blond pigtails.

Sylvia explained to Claire that she had asked Harriden to come so he could prevent whatever was going to happen from being seen by anyone.

"Interesting..." Claire stroked her chin. Sylvia’s plan was solid, so she had no qualms.

"Harriden, if you will," Sylvia turned towards Harriden. It was time for him to cast the spell.

Harriden bent his knees and placed both hands on the floor. The shadow underneath him started to ripple. Then it spread out to the surroundings and formed a translucent dark dome-like structure around them.

"Obscure."

Claire’s eyes swept across the dome. She was quite impressed by the efficiency and saturation of Harriden’s spell.

’Others our age would struggle to cast proper normal spells, not to talk more of an advanced anti-detection spell like this.’

With the dome activated, it was time for Sylvia to make use of her ability. She took a step back, at least three meters away from Harriden and Claire. Then she raised a hand up in the air.

Her feet lifted off the ground slowly. From the strands of her hair down to every tip, everything turned silver-white. A bright crystal blue burned into her crimson eyes, changing the colour of her pupils.

"Unique Ability: Array of Swords."

One by one, white crest swords appeared in the sky, numbering up to a thousand.

Harriden and Claire stared up incredulously; it was unlike anything they had ever seen before.

"This could pass as an ultimate spell—" Claire wiped her eyes to check if she was seeing things.

"And yet she cast it without any incantation."

"This just broke everything," Harriden muttered. He had seen things, but this particular act was something else entirely.

Back in the ballroom, a red-haired, lonely-looking noble child sat by the window. His dark pupils drifted towards the garden. His pupils constricted as they shimmered light brown.

He could see a giant array of swords, but for some reason nobody else could. And he knew exactly why. He became curious and casually left the ballroom so as not to attract any attention. Then he sprinted towards the edge of the garden.

"So what do you think, Claire?" Sylvia was completely dumbfounded by what they were saying, so she proceeded to ask the question on her mind.

"How do I put this properly... You said something like ’Unique Ability’ at the start?" Claire didn’t care much for the sudden change in Sylvia’s looks.

"Yes... I have different types of abilities... this is just one of them," Sylvia explained.

"I’ll look into it some more la—"

"Hello, strangers... What’s going on here?"

Yuki sat on top of the flower wall, legs crossed.

"What do you think?" Harriden sprouted from Yuki’s shadow and stood behind him.

"Ohoooo, I’m so scared. Are you gonna kill me, dark elven noble?" Yuki said with zero seriousness.

"What’s the captain of the First Brigade’s son doing here all alone?" Claire muttered, looking up at Yuki from below.

Sylvia disengaged her ability, and her hair and eyes returned to normal.

"He must have seen through Harriden’s barrier."

Yuki snapped his fingers. "Exactly... Don’t worry, I’m not gonna snitch—" Yuki jumped from the wall and landed on his two feet.

"It’s nice to meet fellow freaks like myself." His eyes glimmered brown.

"Likewise." Sylvia shook his hand.

This night marked the founding of Azure Blake. They continued to discover more about each other throughout the grand ball. Even when they went back to their individual nations, they still visited each other through telephone sigils.

Sylvia brought up the idea of registering as hunters but with second identities, not their real identities.

"How about our looks?" Yuki knew that the cover would be blown if they kept the same looks.

"We could use the ’Alriec’ spell," Sylvia made a suggestion.

"That makes sense for everyone except Sylvia, since she can change her looks on a whim," Harriden added.

So they registered under the Renodin Hunters Guild with fake names. They also started out as S-ranks, which quickly caught the attention of the guild master. Sooner or later, they were forced to tell him the truth, but they also insisted that he sign a binding contract that would prevent him from revealing their secrets.

While going on a group vacation, their carriage was attacked by a bandit gang—The Araken Stigan. A profound bandit gang that had been terrorising the Narail Pathway, the most used road in Reinburg by merchants and travellers. They stole, killed, raped, and kidnapped innocents.

The Renodin Sixth Brigade had been trying to locate their hideout, but they had no luck. So the mission was given to Azure Blake as their first official mission.

They disguised themselves as travellers. While travelling along the Froren Pathway, the wheels of their carriage suddenly broke off. The next instant, the carriage door was ripped apart by an ogre.

The bandits led them to their camp foolishly and brought them before their leader.

"My lord... I have brought new slaves." The ogre threw them before the rather large ogre that sat atop a wooden throne.

"What beautiful human ladies you have brought." The leader licked his lips.

"Claire, are you down?" Yuki said lazily.

"Yes—"

"40 troopers , 15 warriors , 5 elders, and this disgusting fellow posing as king is a semi ancient Elder." She placed a detection field around the camp immediately after they got there.

"Let’s get to it!" Sylvia’s voice carried.

"Know your place, human!" A green ogre threw a fist at Sylvia. His fist stopped before it could reach Sylvia’s face. Then his head fell from its body.

"Kill them!" The ogre leader pointed a finger forward.
