Chapter 403: Chapter 386: Holy Light Demon Collapse

Never heard of them. That name isn’t among the Ten Great Sects... or the top twenty... not even the top fifty.

Lin Jinghao seemed to be thinking. ’Oh, right, I remember now. The Holy Hall from the Four Directions Small Thousand World. I recall you had someone... called Meng-something, wasn’t it? A very interesting fellow.’

"The Four Directions Small Thousand World? What a garbage realm."

"Damn, where did this kid come from?"

"This isn’t a place for you, kid. Scram," someone nearby couldn’t resist shouting.

’Everyone wants to be in the spotlight, but you have to pick the right time and place.’

"Times have really changed. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry dares to come out and act tough now!"

"Young Master No Illusion, if I were you, I wouldn’t stand for this!"

The crowd here was a motley crew, many of whom were just eager to stir up trouble. A delicate balance seemed to have formed between the few powerful competitors, much to the displeasure of the smaller factions that made up the majority. It would be much better for them if the strongest powers clashed first. At the very least, they could gauge the true extent of their strength.

Lin Jinghao smiled faintly. "The Holy Hall? As long as your Sect Leader agrees to it, I have no problem."

"Lin Jinghao!"

A voice like a clap of thunder echoed from the sky. Lin Jinghao’s face fell. ’Crap, that old coot is here again! Sister Ling Fei, you’ve got to help me!’

Ling Fei, who had been quietly sipping her tea while staring absently out the window, glanced at Lin Jinghao upon hearing his plea. "Deal with it yourself."

A flash of light streaked by, and an elder in a black robe appeared inside Wangxian Tower. "Young Master, do not speak so recklessly!"

This was Hei Wuchang, a Protector of the No Illusion Demon Sect and a master at the Great Perfection stage. He was a truly renowned powerhouse whose name echoed throughout the Small Thousand Realms, a figure whom even the various Sect Leaders had to treat with respect.

"Ahem, Uncle Hei, I was just making a bit of small talk. There’s no sect rule against talking, is there? We’re Demon Cultivators; we don’t have to mince our words."

Lin Jinghao was quick-witted, but Hei Wuchang’s gaze had already shifted to the young man who had dared to respond. The entire Wangxian Tower fell silent.

"Tell your elder to come out!" Hei Wuchang said coldly. As an expert who had been famous for a long time, he disdained to make a move on a junior himself.

The young man smiled faintly. "I came alone."

Laughter immediately broke out all around. So he was just some nobody trying to get lucky and pick up some scraps. Plenty of others were there with the same idea; after all, once the Dragon Cave opened, anyone could try their luck. Not everyone had a Great Perfection master for an escort.

A blast of mystic light shot from Hei Wuchang’s eyes. He intended to teach this insolent brat who didn’t know his place a small lesson—some words should not be spoken lightly!

"Uncle Hei..."

Lin Jinghao tried to stop him, but it was too late. Clearly, as long as their opponent wasn’t one of the Ten Great Sects, the No Illusion Demon Sect felt no pressure whatsoever.

But his target seemed completely unaffected. Hei Wuchang was taken aback. His Dark Pupil Skill possessed a Soul Capturing power. Even though he hadn’t used his full strength, it should have been more than enough to scare the piss out of this kid.

"Brat, who is your master!"

"Heh. Mingren, from the Holy Hall."

Everyone was stunned. Nothing else aside, that someone dared to speak to Hei Wuchang like that... that courage alone was enough to make him famous.

Mingren looked at Ling Fei and Lin Jinghao. "I’ve heard the Peacock Ming King Statue and the Nine Luminaries Cyan Dragon Holy Statue are quite formidable, so I came to see for myself. I wonder which of you would be willing to grant me a lesson?"

The entire Wangxian Tower erupted at once. Someone actually dared to challenge both Ling Fei and Lin Jinghao! How spectacular!

Hua Jianyu suddenly recalled something and stood up. "You must be that Mingren from the Holy Hall Faction. You had a hand in destroying my Dragon King Faction’s outpost, didn’t you?"

Mingren smiled faintly. "We’ll deal with that after I’m finished with my challenge. There’s plenty of time."

Hua Jianyu was stunned for a moment, then he threw his head back and laughed. "Mingren of the Holy Hall! Tsk, tsk. A toad trying to swallow a swan. If you can block just three of my attacks, I’ll take your family name!"

In the crowd below, Wang Meng, who had disguised himself as a burly man with a large beard, quietly watched Mingren on the floor above. ’So this must be the real Mingren, the one who isn’t holding back.’

Mingren’s gaze held an indescribable calm. With Wang Meng gone, the thing that had suppressed him, that had made him wait, was no more. It was, in a way, a tragedy for Mingren.

"Where is Wang Meng?" Ling Fei, who had been silent this whole time, suddenly asked.

Wang Meng recognized Ling Fei, too. ’She’s the senior sister who would occasionally show up at the Alchemy Institute at night...’

’She’s the legendary Empress, the top expert of the Starlight Cultivation Academy.’

Mingren looked at Ling Fei. "He... is probably... dead."

’Who is this Wang Meng?’

Bu Qingyun and the others clearly looked bewildered. It was an unfamiliar name, yet the one speaking it was Ling Fei herself.

"You’re not talking about the Wang Meng from Starlight, are you?" Yi Fan also stood up.

Seeing their stoic expressions, Yi Fan couldn’t help but shake his head and sigh. "Such a shame. I was hoping to spar with him one more time."

Bu Qingyun couldn’t hold back his curiosity. "You’ve fought him before?"

Yi Fan shrugged helplessly. "In an Elemental Power Regulation Match. He took me out with a single sword strike. His Sword Technique is the most terrifying I’ve ever seen. An absolute genius of Swordsmanship."

"Who did it?" Ji Rushan suddenly demanded, his voice low and heavy.

Hua Jianyu was taken aback. "You know him too?"

Ji Rushan ignored Hua Jianyu, his eyes fixed on Mingren like a tiger stalking its prey.

"That’s not important anymore," Mingren said coolly.

Ji Rushan let out a loud laugh. "It is very important! The Celestial Rainbow Sect still owes him a favor!"

For a moment, the others were all dumbfounded. Who on earth was this Wang Meng? He was supposed to be some minor character they’d never even heard of, so how did so many people know him?

At some point, Hei Wuchang had already sat down. This matter no longer required his intervention. He was only here to watch Lin Jinghao and keep the boy from running wild.

Mingren smiled faintly. "That has nothing to do with me. He’s dead, and I’m disappointed. I’m bored. So I thought I’d kill someone to liven things up."

The crowd roared. "You little shit, who the hell do you think you are? Let me send you on your way!"

A figure flashed forward as a Body Cultivator swung his axe at Mingren. Body Cultivators were known for their explosive tempers, and besides, this was a golden opportunity to make a name for himself. He who strikes first has the advantage.

"It’s Sunx Hucheng of the Heaven-Breaking Axe! That kid’s in for it now!" someone in the crowd cried out.

Sunx Hucheng’s figure appeared before Mingren in an instant, then came to an abrupt halt. He had no need for a sneak attack; this pause was to give his opponent time to react, and to give himself a moment to show off.

Body Cultivator’s Vibration Wave!

The formidable power vibrated, forming a terrifying force field. While other Cultivators primarily pursued Magic, Body Cultivators threw themselves wholeheartedly into the pursuit of pure physical power.

The War Axe, accompanied by the Vibration Wave, transformed into a streak of light that slashed toward Mingren as if it would cleave the very sky.

The force of the axe radiated outward, instantly shredding any tables and chairs it touched. The surrounding Cultivators scrambled to put up their defenses.

BOOM...

The shockwave erupted, unleashing a torrent of power. Ji Rushan threw a sweeping punch, deflecting the Powerful Qi that came his way. Hua Jianyu’s figure flickered, and the wall behind him was blown clean through.

A lotus flower materialized before Ling Fei, swallowing the Powerful Qi, which vanished without a trace.

When the Powerful Qi reached Hei Wuchang, it dissipated with a simple, cold snort.
