Chapter 578: Chapter 526: Master and Disciple Reunion
Heavenly Spirit Realm, outside Yinxian City.
Zhao Fuyi, holding a heavy wooden box, found the suburban courtyard mentioned in Lii Jiuchuan’s letter within the city.
It was spring, roses covered the courtyard walls, and flower petals were drifting.
The wind chimes jingled, and the courtyard gate was pulled open from inside.
Zhao Fuyi saw Lii Jiuchuan and raised her eyebrows in surprise, "She’s not dead yet, and you already look so worried and gaunt?"
At this time, Lii Jiuchuan wore a single garment, exhausted all over, with a bitter smile on the corner of his lips.
"It’s not that I’m worried about her, it’s just that if she doesn’t come soon, I’ll have to go back and take over the affairs of the Heavenly Interence Sect. But if I don’t see for myself that she’s safe, I can’t be at ease."
After dozens of years apart, Zhao Fuyi still wore plain clothes, with an aura of heroism soaring to the clouds. She pressed the wooden box in her hand into Lii Jiuchuan’s hand, adding crossly, "Your girl still has the time to annoy me, so she must be fine!"
Zhao Fuyi stepped into the courtyard and saw Wenn Miao hugging a wine jar and sleeping against the porch, her robes in disarray, with only one shoe on her feet. She couldn’t help but shake her head and sigh.
Lii Jiuchuan, holding the rather heavy wooden box, closed the door and asked, "What’s this?"
Zhao Fuyi sat at the stone table in the courtyard, took a cup of spiritual tea brewed by Lii Jiuchuan, and casually said, "Your good disciple wrote this to annoy me."
"So much?" Lii Jiuchuan said in amazement.
Jiang Yuebai’s letter to him was just an ordinary envelope, sparse with three pages. Yet, the letter to Zhao Fuyi was in such a finely crafted wooden box, about an inch thick.
Lii Jiuchuan suddenly felt a pang of jealousy.
Zhao Fuyi glanced at Lii Jiuchuan’s expression and laughed, "If you’re interested, you can open it and see. There are few greetings and a bunch of questions, plus she specifically mentioned that she reached the Nascent Soul stage at sixty-three, asking me her level. She means trouble!"
Upon hearing this, Lii Jiuchuan suddenly felt the wooden box in his hand was burning and hurriedly placed it in front of Zhao Fuyi.
"That’s her nature. Isn’t it because you never appreciated her, so she always wants to show off in front of you to win your recognition."
Zhao Fuyi smiled, nodding, "But she indeed surprised me. Forming a Nascent Soul at sixty-three makes her top tier even in the Upper Realm. Her achievements will definitely surpass ours."
Lii Jiuchuan smiled bitterly again, lowered his head to tidy his sleeves, "Yes, if I weren’t her master, soon I might have to call her ’senior sister.’
Saying this, Lii Jiuchuan felt mixed emotions. He had just recently broken through to mid-stage Nascent Soul.
He was both pleased for his disciple and felt immense pressure.
"How’s Master Wenn’s situation?" Zhao Fuyi quietly asked.
Lii Jiuchuan’s gaze dimmed as he glanced at the drunken Wenn Miao, "Passing away peacefully is a blessing. The sisters have already come to terms, so there’s no sorrow of separation by death. I believe Master Wenn can reincarnate well and continue seeking the Dao in her next life."
"In the future, the Heavenly Interence Sect will depend on you."
Lii Jiuchuan hurriedly replied, "This is what I should do, but I won’t be Sect Master for too long. I cannot truly be surpassed by that girl, or where would I put my dignity as a master."
Zhao Fuyi chuckled, "Then you’d better prepare early. It’s certain she’ll surpass you, even surpass me, it won’t take long."
"Master, Master—"
The courtyard gate was pounded loudly. Zhao Fuyi and Lii Jiuchuan exchanged glances, not expecting Jiang Yuebai to arrive so quickly, right on Zhao Fuyi’s heels.
Lii Jiuchuan hurriedly went to open the gate and saw his beloved disciple whom he’d worried about for over ten years standing outside the gate, her white hair fluttering, dotted with pink flower petals, eyebrows arched, and smiling radiantly.
Lii Jiuchuan suddenly felt the spring breeze warming up; everything seemed peaceful and free.
But Jiang Yuebai, looking at Lii Jiuchuan’s tired and skinny appearance, furrowed her brows, suddenly said, "Master, have you been drained by a female demon of your Essence Qi? Why are you looking so old?"
Just as she spoke, the sound of a tea cup hitting the stone table came from behind Lii Jiuchuan. Jiang Yuebai tilted her head, glanced past Lii Jiuchuan, and saw Zhao Fuyi, dignified in plain clothes under the pear tree, her pupils flashing, then her eyes widened.
"Ah! Master, could it be that, you both are..."
Jiang Yuebai hurriedly covered her mouth, her wide eyes filled with disbelief.
Zhao Fuyi frowned, not understanding what Jiang Yuebai was talking about, while Lii Jiuchuan, unable to catch his breath, was choked by his saliva into a fit of coughing.
"Cough, cough! What nonsense, get in here!"
Hmm, this definitely looks like a true disciple, no imposters here!
With Zhao Fuyi sitting in the back, Jiang Yuebai lowered her eyes and nodding, behaving obediently, pinching her hands as she walked into the courtyard, respectfully bowing to Zhao Fuyi, and stealthily releasing the aura of her early-stage Nascent Soul.
"Yuebai greets Uncle Fuyi."
"Hmm."
Zhao Fuyi sipped her tea, responding blandly, pretending not to notice the change in Jiang Yuebai’s aura.
Lii Jiuchuan chuckled and shook his head, pouring a cup of tea for Jiang Yuebai, "Sit down, no need for formality."
Jiang Yuebai sat obediently, holding the tea cup with both hands, and took a small sip.
"Tell us, what’s going on in the Green Dragon Realm, and where have you been all these years?" Lii Jiuchuan asked with concern.
Zhao Fuyi wore a indifferent expression, not showing any intent to leave the two masters alone to talk.
Jiang Yuebai knew True Monarch Fuyi cared about her but couldn’t bring himself to say so, so she recounted her experiences in the Green Dragon Realm, the dangers of forming her Nascent Soul, her later Nirvana, and arrival in the Doumu Realm to her master and True Monarch Fuyi.
Even Wenn Miao, sleeping in the porch, moved her ear, listening as well.
The three elders in this small courtyard were all people Jiang Yuebai totally trusted, so she hid nothing too much, even detailing the matters so the elders could help her discern if there were aspects she’d neglected.
Such as Bai Jiuyou’s special Outer Body Incarnation, Qii Siheng’s identity, and whether the Nine-Headed Flood Dragon’s bones might pose potential danger to her, etc.
She had many questions she wanted to consult, and there were no trustworthy people outside; now was the great chance.
Jiang Yuebai arrived at the courtyard at 11:00 AM and talked until the moon hung on the treetop before finishing recounting everything.
Wenn Miao yawned, stretched her muscles, and sat up from the porch, lazily saying, "Your girl really has good luck after bad, it’s truly as they say, fortune and disaster are intertwined, no wonder I could later predict you had a chance of survival and would come back to life, your fate has changed."
Zhao Fuyi also furrowed her brow tightly, "Stand up, let me examine your spine now."
Jiang Yuebai stood up, and Zhao Fuyi’s palm gently rested on her lower back, using Divine Sense to inspect every part carefully.
Lii Jiuchuan also wanted to help, but in front of two Divinity Transformation Cultivators, there was nothing he could do.
Wenn Miao poked Jiang Yuebai’s brow with a finger, the two thoroughly examined Jiang Yuebai inside out, and exchanged a glance, nodding slightly.
Wenn Miao sat down and said, "For now, your body seems fine, an Acquired Chaos Body, truly enviable!"
Wenn Miao was genuinely envious; her envy might stem from the Chaos Body being able to absorb liquor without getting drunk, being able to drink more.
Zhao Fuyi, however, felt nothing because she had her own firm direction and trusted her own skills, not needing to covet others’ possessions.
Lii Jiuchuan felt a strange sense of pride, believing that his disciple deserved the best.
Wenn Miao advised, "Smelly girl, what you told us today must never be shared with anyone else. The Chaos Body is significant, if exposed, even the Refining Void and Integration Great Powers would covet it, and you wouldn’t even know how you died."
Zhao Fuyi nodded, Lii Jiuchuan nodded.
Wenn Miao continued, "About that Qii Siheng you mentioned, I’ll help you investigate it. Now that my sister has passed away, I don’t need to stay to guard the Heavenly Interence Sect any longer. I can go seek my own Dao."
Lii Jiuchuan said, "Seeing you’re safe, I can return at ease. What plans do you have next?"
Jiang Yuebai scratched her face, "I’m planning to go to the Heavenly Spear Realm under the Ziwei Star Alliance, to find some Taixuan Pure Gold. Wuwei Mountain Man went to that realm, I’ve read her miscellaneous collections since I was a child and am quite eager to meet her."
Lii Jiuchuan nodded, "Alright, be careful in all things."
Then, Zhao Fuyi, who had spoken little, suddenly said, "I shall go to the Heavenly Spear Realm with you, I have some affairs."
Jiang Yuebai’s eyes brightened and she nodded eagerly, laughing happily.
"Thanks, Uncle Fuyi. Let’s not waste this rare reunion. As my elders, I ask you to help resolve some cultivation doubts I’ve had over the years."
Jiang Yuebai placed an entire box of Jade Scrolls on the table, opening the lid, revealing over a hundred within.
Zhao Fuyi’s face went pale, Lii Jiuchuan’s eyes went black.
The spot where Wenn Miao was had only an overturned cup left; she had already fled when Jiang Yuebai took out her items.
