Chapter 1992: The Toranks Have Arrived

After a few days, the entire situation changed, and panic spread across those forces’ higher-ups. They saw the shift, they saw the change, they saw their strongest warriors change sides and join their enemies. Yet none could ever fathom what was going on, or what caused this, except for those weird black threads.

In this battle, the infamous legend about the human who could turn your own race brothers into his side was born. And this was simply the beginning of this force’s nightmare.

During the past days, Hye strictly limited Legend and his forces from fighting seriously. He wanted to take all f the strongest warriors first and made them join his side. He feared losing many of them in the hands of his army.

So the moment he took all and found no new strong warrior to add to his forces, he finally gave the order. And Legend led everyone to open the gates of hell over the heads of the foolish forces. freewebnøvel.com

Even if they managed to gather millions against Hye, these numbers meant nothing. The battle lasted for two straight weeks, during which Hye kept adding normal warriors all the time. Eventually, the huge losses he suffered were made up for by the newly added warriors he gained from the enemies. On top of that, many were in higher cultivation grade, making their addition quite valuable.

The moment the battle ended, Hye didn’t stop there. He left a garrison back at the base, then moved instantly to hit and claim other bases as well. Similar fights erupted at these bases, yet they all lacked the intensity and ferocity of the first one. After all, the enemies gathered most of the capable forces they managed to group at the first battlefield. And what remained was mostly weak warriors, led by a few experienced and capable leaders.

Yet Hye didn’t let those leaders off the hook. The moment he marked a group of them, he made sure to stop the fight once it arrived at their location, before taking charge of everything and adding them to his side.

By the end of one month, he took control of all the greedy forces that refused to join his side. Aside from the immense gains of warriors, he gained tons of supplies from their warehouses. Not to mention he gained a scary amount of dark realm bones.

And he didn’t collect bones from most bases, simply did it from time to time when he was bored, and there wasn’t any worthy warrior to take over.

Just before he would start a mass tour around the different bases under his control, he received a distress signal from Sara. A messenger just arrived, and it seemed like a grand force came from the universe. And right now, Sara was surrounding them and waiting for his orders.

"This fast?" Hye was surprised, "No more than a month and a half passed since I attacked the Toranks. They are indeed quite fast to act."

If he got the chance to choose, he would prefer to keep harvesting bones. But he had to go and help Sara, and also check and see how strong the forces the Toranks sent were.

During the past month, Olana wasn’t sitting idle. She installed a network of teleportation circles that linked all the bases under Hye’s control with each other. Yet Hye didn’t need any of that. He simply opened a portal directly towards the spot they first appeared at.

Just as he arrived there, Hye found himself standing in front of a grand army. There wasn’t much distance between the two of them, and that came as a sudden surprise for both of them.

Even if he appeared in the most unexpected location in this battle, he didn’t fret. The next instant, he took out tons of his Soulers and Reapers, spread them around, and gave them the order to attack.

Even before the enemies would wake up from their momentary shock and daze, Hye instantly secured a huge area around him. He also activated his technique, adding more of the newly arrived forces to his side. And there he spotted the little surprise he hoped for.

The enemy brought strong forces this time. Even the front warriors took more than a couple of minutes to control, even using dark realm bones to fuel his technique. Seeing this drove a big smile on his face.

Instead of retreating, he pushed forward, taking more and more, while spreading the newly joined warriors far behind, away from any danger. To him, these forces were quite precious, and he didn’t want to risk losing any of them.

Soon enough, his forces surrounding this hostile grand army moved and came into contact with him. Sara arrived at his side while spreading the strongest warriors in her army to secure this area.

"You do know how to make an entrance, don’t you?"

Sara rolled her eyes, and Hye simply shrugged.

"I wanted to come here as fast as possible. Who knew I’d appear in front of them?"

"I bet!"

She chuckled before turning her attention around.

"It seems you want to slowly take your time with them, right?"

He slowly nodded as he used more bones to augment his technique.

"They sent quite a strong army this time. It’s a waste to simply kill them."

"Fine," she looked a bit disappointed, "I’ve been stationed here for a month, and even before that, I didn’t have the chance to fight and have some fun like Legend. So why don’t you let me handle the other side? There are millions of them here."

"Sure," Hye knew if he was left to handle them alone, the situation might develop differently. So he sent Sara to handle the opposite side of the enemy grand army, while he worked his technique and pushed it over the limit to turn as many as he could into his side.

The opening gambit was quite risky and unexpected. Yet Hye managed to turn the tables and secure a foothold before a grand army.
