Chapter 722: Chapter 314: Celestia’s All-Purpose Partner Attribute

In the morning, Estella and Celestia came to Li Xin’s place for breakfast; last night they didn’t manage to have a midnight snack, Estella still didn’t want to bother Li Xin at such a late hour.

Celestia also wore a leather outfit; after coming to Dragon Capital, they needed to be more cautious, particularly regarding her identity as the Princess.

"Oh, Celestia, you came too," Li Xin said with a smile as he opened the door.

"Li Xin, what do you mean? Why can’t I come!" Celestia widened her eyes, annoyed at yet another someone preferring others to her, when in fact she was the first acquaintance!

"Welcome, welcome. Did you tell her?" Li Xin asked Estella, wondering if that girl was in a mood.

"Not yet."

"Tell me what? What’s that I’m unaware of? How come you two are so familiar?" Celestia sniffed out the conspiracy, baffled how this major issue escaped her, someone who loved gossip.

"Let’s talk while we eat. Can she take on this responsibility being so curious?" Li Xin said with a smile.

"Li Xin, what are you talking about? Ugh, you piss me off! Is there anyone more reliable than me?" Celestia shouted with her arms akimbo, wishing she could take Li Xin down a notch.

"Let’s talk while we eat."

Ma Liu had prepared a fine breakfast.

"Thanks to Li Xin’s advice, the latest investigation confirmed previous intelligence; the secretive owner behind our collaborative channel is the Royal Family’s chief steward Ji Sheng. For this partnership, if we only reach a rough agreement, various issues might arise; thus, meeting Ji Sheng and forging a profound collaboration intention is necessary for stability," Estella stated.

"You’re considerate, finally showing some concern for me. I’m almost driven mad by those Hundred Martial Hall people. Never seen such scheming; claiming to partner only to renege after agreeing, back and forth, wanting to consume us cleanly. Though I heard the Royal Family is behind it, I’ve had no direct contact," Celestia said, headache-ridden. This trip to Dragon Capital was a major test for her. Despite Simmons’ support within the family, power had to be secured with capability; should she succeed, she might escape the fate of arranged marriage, grasping her destiny. Fail, and Simmons wouldn’t let her act recklessly, having enjoyed family privileges which require sacrifices.

"Don’t worry. Actually, the Royal Family is more anxious than you. Your collaboration is crucial for them—only the Hundred Martial Hall withholding to gain more. You just need to feign breaking ties; the people behind will appear. That negotiation is the true negotiation," Li Xin explained.

Celestia knew Li Xin commanded the Night Patrol, accessing core secrets; she pondered, "I’m skilled at this, but if things really go south, I’m done for. Are you sure? You’ll be responsible for me!"

"No responsibility needed for Celestia," Estella interjected.

"I’m utterly sure. Your trade is civilian, highly profitable; both Hundred Martial Hall and the Royal Family need it, neither can discard. Both are financially struggling, so patience ensures the people behind will emerge; then negotiating will finally secure this channel," Li Xin assured.

Celestia pondered; without seeing the secretive owner, her trip would be in vain, unrecognized upon return, yet such a channel builds on trust and bonds between owners; meeting them is essential. If reluctant, they are wary of identity, yet a meeting signifies genuine partnership sincerity.

"How can we meet Ji Sheng?"

"Ji Sheng is one of Dragon Capital’s most influential figures; meeting him is quite difficult," Li Xin replied with a wily smile.

"Li Xin, help me out, I know you’re amazing," Celestia whimpered suddenly, eyes rolling as she reached for Li Xin’s hand.

Li Xin reflexively withdrew his hand with lightning speed, "Speak properly; if I could, I’d arrange it for you. I’m just a Night Patrol, insignificant to the Royal Family, so me stepping in would lower your status; more crucially, it’ll hinder negotiations."

"What should I do then?" Celestia fretted, "I’ve tried probing recently, but Hundred Martial Hall won’t budge."

"Looking at me like that won’t help; it’s not that I’m unwilling but don’t have such clout," Li Xin stated while sipping porridge.

"Let me step in," Estella offered.

"No," both Li Xin and Celestia simultaneously voiced.

Estella chuckled, "No need to be so tense. If this succeeds, I’ll leave Dragon Capital, so no danger. The Li Long Royal Family has always had good relations with us; only with such an approach will they emerge."

Celestia understood; between royal families, she lacked the status, being merely from the George Family, having no grounds to meet the Royal Family’s chief steward.

"But... no need for you over such a minor thing," Celestia insisted; she found the risk overly high.

"Celestia, it’s also for the Kingdom; this line is crucial. The King knows I’m here; I can’t just frolic without doing anything. You secretly invite Ji Sheng, no problem, and if my presence is mentioned, he likely won’t refuse, saying we have bigger collaboration plans," Estella explained.

"Will it work?"

"Absolutely. Recently, the Black Meteor Empire is stirring ambitiously, and the treasury is tight. Expanding brings mutual benefits," Estella stated.

"Thank you, Ella, you’re really great," Celestia said, appetite whetted.

The trio briefly discussed details, Celestia rushed off, urging Li Xin to care for the Princess, determined to achieve something significant.

Once Celestia left, Estella and Li Xin exchanged knowing smiles, "Is it right to deceive her like this?"

"This is the best approach; the Round Table Conference can block tracking, but she can’t. Thus, keeping her unaware yields the best results while ensuring her security; Ji Sheng’s around a Life Master, just in case," Li Xin said.

"I’m still somewhat concerned about Mr. Cancer’s Barrier, whether it can confine an Angel and whether timing will align; it seems immensely challenging. From what I’ve learned, no Barrier Master can accomplish this," Estella frowned lightly. This was step one, without which everything else was futile.

Li Xin chuckled, "You actually worry this much?"

"Why, does Mr. Gemini think I’m just a beautiful Princess? I’ve undergone extensive studies in the Celestial Principle School and Withered Wood Monastery, witnessed countless Royal Family machinations and dark deeds; this is part of royal life," Estella replied with some pride.

"Haha, you know you’re beautiful, huh?" Li Xin teased.

"Girls only overestimate themselves in the world," Estella clued him in, "They only act foolishly in front of those they fancy."

"Impressive, I learned something," Li Xin chuckled, "Actually, I’m quite confident in Mr. Cancer. He has a defensive and conservative personality, with heightened defense awareness; orally haughty yet earnest in promises, potentially more reliable than me."

"Mr. Cancer is a good man," Estella nodded, "Although my Fertile Magic Ring can boost your powers, the opponent is an Angel; for swift victory, wouldn’t auxiliary help be needed? My second brother arranged for an Angel to secretly protect me during this visit."

"Hedan’s Angel?"

"Not Hedan’s; it’s a Holy Hall Angel. My brother is particularly formidable in the hidden world," Estella elaborated.

"Mmm, Achilles appears outgoing yet is profoundly subtle, one of Secret Castle’s strongest at the time," Li Xin reflected on encountering Achilles in Hedan, finding his depths elusive; contrasting Yan Tianguang, Hoppert Nalan, and Hong Ban outshine him at Dragon Capital.

"Do you need him to act?" Estella asked.

Li Xin considered, then shook his head, "Our strategy relies on surprise success; external interference from outside the Round Table Conference would leave risks. Amplified by your Magic Ring and Chris’s aid, it should suffice."
