Chapter 690: Chapter 282: Want to See You
The deep sea night was extraordinarily terrifying.
Estella loved the sea, loved it since she was a child. In her original view, the sea was always so turbulent and beautiful, whether it was in joy or anger, sorrow or happiness. Standing on the balcony and gazing afar always improved her mood. But on her first long journey, she experienced another side of the sea—its loneliness, silence, and cruelty.
No matter how powerful you are, once you enter the deep sea, everything becomes so small and pale. All the hidden power and status are insignificant before the sea. When Estella lived in the Royal City, no matter how she thought or acted, she always bore the aura of Princess Ola. But on the sea, she deeply felt the insignificance and solitude of being just one person.
It was through reflecting on this journey that she realized how much she missed Mr. Gemini. When her identity as a princess and her familiar daily life mostly disappeared, what remained was the person she most longed to see.
Even though she had a thousand reasons, this trip to the Dragon Capital was to see Mr. Gemini. It was her impulsiveness, and it was her last impulse.
After leaving the Round Table Conference, she restrained her impulse to meet Mr. Gemini alone. She was afraid her inexplicable enthusiasm might trouble him, even to the point of not being able to remain as friends. But she couldn’t fall asleep now.
In the room, Celestia was sleeping soundly. Except for a little discomfort at the beginning, Celestia quickly adapted to life on the sea, staying cheerful every day. If it were not for her optimistic company, Estella really didn’t know how she would get through the long hours at sea.
Life is inherently unfair, even when it comes to practice. On the slow path of cultivation, most people face hardships and twists and turns, in addition to a lack of opportunities and materials, but she had everything. This experience made her overlook many things.
Only by venturing out can one see the true world.
She and Celestia were staying in the best place on the ship. The fleet sailed on the sea. However, they were really lucky. The crew said they had never experienced such a smooth trip since setting sail. They had favorable winds and encountered no major storms, which is extremely rare in navigation.
Celestia often said it was because Estella was naturally lucky. In the past, Estella would have agreed, but she wished she could share her luck with her father. So-called luck is useless when faced with absolute power, and if luck only benefits oneself and cannot help those around you, it is meaningless.
Celestia rubbed her eyes drowsily, "Why is the princess not sleeping at midnight?"
"Why are you awake? Is it almost dawn?"
"Sorry for waking you up. It should still be a while." Estella said apologetically.
If there was still a sense of distance in their friendship before, the time spent together had changed their relationship.
"Thinking of him?" Celestia said, feeling a bit sour despite knowing it for some time.
She only found out at sea during a drinking session when the princess revealed her heart. Celestia was stunned. She really hadn’t expected it. While Li Xin was indeed charming, she never thought he could attract the princess’s attention, let alone her favor. But the world is so unpredictable. After that, Celestia sensibly buried her own feelings completely.
If a man could keep a distance from Estella, then she shouldn’t bother trying.
Estella nodded. Secret admiration is exhausting, and having someone to confide in relieved her a lot; otherwise, she couldn’t sleep.
"It’s no big deal. Miss him if you miss him, and everything’s fine once you see him. Are you planning to see him directly?"
"Let’s settle in first. I don’t know if it’s appropriate to meet him suddenly. I heard he’s very busy now. It would be rude to disturb his normal life." Estella said hesitantly. She noticed Mr. Gemini seemed to have important matters to handle at the Round Table Conference.
"How is that okay? Why did you come all the way here then? Why bother with so much courtesy now, just go to his doorstep. Do you know where he lives? Show up, throw the problem at him, then you don’t have to worry." Celestia suggested, adhering to the principle of making things difficult for others instead of oneself.
"Is it appropriate?"
"Very appropriate. You are good friends, right? You sneaked to the Dragon Capital, and this is the time for him to show his friendship. As for work, he’s not that busy. The world won’t collapse without him!" Celestia said with a tone of envy and jealousy toward Li Xin, so much so even as a girl it was unbearable. Why him!
Even if he is Avogadro Li, no way!
"Thank you, Celestia. You gave me courage!" Estella smiled, her conflicts and struggles greatly eased. "You’re right. I need to face my feelings. We are good friends. Going to him is okay."
Celestia was at a loss, thinking: Your Highness, what are you troubled over? If she had Estella’s conditions, all the men in the world would be like playthings!
"Did Li Xin put a spell on you? Have you checked with a Curse Master?" Celestia couldn’t help but tease.
"Aren’t you a Curse Master?" Estella laughed. "Go to sleep, there’s still a while before dawn."
"I suspect he’s on the seduction path. Fine, I’ll deal with him when we reach the Dragon Capital!" Celestia grumbled, upset that Li Xin had secretly stolen the princess’s heart. He should be thrown in jail.
...If the rival is a princess, maybe becoming submissive seems logical.
Suddenly, Celestia felt a bit happy.
Estella lay in bed, waiting for a while to go to the Round Table Conference to find Mr. Gemini. She was about to reach the Dragon Capital. It wouldn’t be a surprise attack. She should at least inform Mr. Gemini.
Li Xin had not slept. The Slave Master and the Nun, roughly two special Angels not counting the others in the Song of Hell. He couldn’t face them head-on; he needed to understand their situation and leverage against each other. The Slave Master was getting closer, but the Nun, once disappeared, with the skin suit involved, was indeed hard to find.
Thinking this, he felt the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc calling and returned to the Round Table Conference.
"Mr. Gemini, sorry to disturb you."
"Miss Aries, I wasn’t sleeping either. What’s up, did something happen?"
"I remembered something about the nun Eliza."
"Thank you so much, Miss Aries, this is exactly what I need now." Li Xin was actually hoping to inquire from Miss Aries, but he didn’t know Withered Wood Monastery’s stance on Eliza, so he didn’t ask rashly.
"I heard that when Senior Sister Eliza went down the mountain to practice, she was initially doing well and even performed many heroic rescues. Later, she encountered a man and after returning, her view of the world changed. She said this filthy world was beyond saving and only complete destruction could lead to rebirth." Estella said.
"Miss Aries, what is Withered Wood Monastery’s attitude towards Eliza? Have they considered severing ties?" Li Xin asked.
Estella shook her head. "The nuns at Withered Wood Monastery are abandoned. Leaving the Monastery means the end of relations; the Monastery does not interfere with external matters."
"Is there a way to find her?"
"I don’t have a method, but I heard from my teacher that my Abundance Magic Ring could resist the nun’s power." Estella said.
Li Xin was silent for a moment. Right and wrong are often built on positions. There were things he couldn’t articulate.
"There’s still no trace of the nun, but there’s a lead on the Slave Master. Mainly, his identity is a big figure in the Dragon Capital, lurking for a long time, so he’s unlikely to flee. Moreover, the Song of Hell has a big plan in the Dragon Capital. This is just the beginning, none of them will leave."
People involved with the Song of Hell are desperadoes. From the Hedan incident, it’s clear they’re fearless. They plan meticulously, and the final winners are the Pope and the Song of Hell.
"Mr. Gemini, be very careful." Estella still couldn’t speak her mind. She thought up many reasons, but none seemed appropriate.
"How have you been lately?" Li Xin asked.
"Very good."
These words warmed Estella’s heart. The bitterly cold winds at sea seemed like nothing now.
The two left the Round Table Conference. After meeting Miss Aries, Li Xin didn’t sleep again, gathering the Night Patrol’s team was just the basics.
On the ship, Estella was already asleep, peacefully.
