Chapter 211: Come at me
The roar is a mixture of shockwave and a fear skills that’s suppose to wash over Azaroth and locked his muscles in place. To freeze him and stunned him there with fear alone.
All the monsters around Azaroth stiffened and just...froze. But Azaroth just turned towards the monster and continued to move towards him, his brows pulled together in annoyance. "Fear? I’m not one to give in to fear that easily."
The Alpha monster cocked it’s head in curiosity then it bounded over, claws like daggers flexing and rending the ground beneath it very easily.
The two met again and Azaroth was pushed back as the monster’s weight crashed into him. But even then he never dropped his sword or stop swinging, because even a seconds pause will cost his life or at the very least a fatal wound.
The boss fought...like a beast. All raging claws and fangs. Azaroth sweeps his sword upright and then down at the same breath, his right hand flexing under the strain of whipping his sword around so fast.
He’s using a footwork where he’ll dash in and out as fast as he could while his sword followed the reach. But he’s having little luck in that because this is full average Acolyte monster and their bodies as durable and all the small wounds he’s inflicting just gets healed.
But even with all that a glint steeled Azaroth eyes. "So this is an Acolyte rank monster. Not those weakling we fought earlier. It’s been a while I’ve struggled like this before."
Battle is not only about skill or sword techniques. It’s not only about raw strength. Timing and taking advantages of seconds count just as well and the boss stink wolf know this just as well and kept studying Azaroth fighting pattern, waiting for that small window, that little gap.
And because Azaroth is getting weaker with swinging his sword since, he made a mistake. He swings his sword a little too hard and it shoved him forward just a bit but that was enough for the monster as it’s body seems to pull together like spring and then woosh!
The monster bust forward, a single busting of speed by compressing it’s muscles with essence. Azaroth eyes widen as the blur came at his unprotected neck. He couldn’t bring his sword to around again that quickly.
So in that seconds he did two things. He directed all his essence to his upper body and then he fell. He just collapsed where he’s standing.
The monster blew past, and it’s claws slashed through the essence shield as if it’s not there. Fortunately, failing made Azaroth threw himself downward and the claws meant for his neck was taken on his right shoulder.
The monster snared in frustration and turned quickly but Azaroth is already standing up, his right shoulder dripping in blood and his eyes narrowed as pain flared through his body. "You’re one tough bastard." Azaroth said.
He studied the monster as it prance in front of him, claws digging into the ground. The claws are now covered in a red aura that made it shimmered. Even the monster’s eyes are turned red and red aura climbed into it.
Azaroth grimaced, is the monster getting a skill power boost? This isn’t good. He has enough essence in his fire core to last him a full fire wave. Any left over is used to cover his forge and now directed to heal his right shoulder.
Azaroth shifted, and raised his sword again, eyes narrowed. With his ears he heard the sound of others still fighting. Just how much are those wolves? "Seems I’ll have to settle for killing you with fire after all. I’ll be sneaky about it."
Azaroth immediately dropped his essence forged. Although it opened him to attacks but it’s not like it’s going to work against the wolf and for the added strength and speed it gave, well, Azaroth will just have to deal with it.
But his opponent, the wolf seems to get bigger as it raised it’s hackles as that red glow took over it’s eyes. The monster somehow lost its bulk and it got more skeletal, bones pressing hard against flesh.
Then the monster flew at Azaroth at such a speed he didn’t know what hit him until the pain in his body reached him. The monster have just swiped his gut!
"Shit! The monster just gave up its strength for speed?" Azaroth felt the black blur moving in the green smoke. It’s too fast that the only way he’s tracking it is through senses.
Ping! He raised his sword just in time the claws rend the air, drawing sparks as it met his metal sword. Azaroth grunted, his essence couldn’t keep up with the wound in his body unless he want to commit all of it to healing himself.
Azaroth eyes clouded over. "I’ll do anything to win, always." freeωebnovēl.c૦m
And then he did a very strange thing. Azaroth dropped his sword and then spread his hand. Now he’s standing there, without sword or forge. That made the monster paused and stared at Azaroth through the green smoke.
"Well? Come at me." Azaroth demanded sharply.
And that’s just what the monster did. It leaped and cleared the distance in a blink. But just as it leaped, so did Azaroth did as well and they clashed in mid air.
Azaroth went for grappling and he caught the front legs of the monster, yanking it down together with it and they crashed. The monster didn’t struggle with its caught legs, instead with Azaroth standing there above him, covering him. The monster’s jaws opened and then snapped forward, straight at his neck!
Azaroth smiled, grim and vicious. His eyes sparked like rekindled embers and the space between them shimmered. Essence covered Azaroth again the then fire wave blasted forward.
An intense wash of wave that flowed almost like liquid fire. The monster yowled in pain, muscles clenching to get away from him but Azaroth hold was tight.
